This is NOT Yale's graduation ceremony. This is Yale "Class Day" and it's held the day before the graduation ceremony and is organized by the senior class. It includes guest speakers, in t;his case Bill Clinton, at the invitation of the senior class and university. Yale's "graduation" is held the next day. much more formal, and there are, by tradition, usually no speakers other than the President of Yale. Graduate degrees and undergraduate degrees are announced, as well as honorary degrees given, (these are not usually announced until the very last minute. There is are great deal of pomp and circumstance and an academic procession to Old Campus. After that graduating seniors all go to the residential college of which they have been a member, and each recieves a diploma from the Master of the College. Also here special awards and prizes associated with the college are also announced.
