About what length did you use on the 2 inch and 1 1/2 tubing on the main frame?
The bigger tube is 28" and the smaller tube is 26". Should be able to fit almost any bow you can throw at it.
Good looking press , very well done!!
what is the maserments of the tooubes in
Measurements in inches are in the description.
Amazing, what size and gauge of steel did you use for the platform?
How did you connect the wheel to the thread? Is that a coupler that you welded to the wheel or how can I do this?
@@samuelrich7286 I just welded them together. Nothing special. No coupler.
@ i have a list of everything to get but its all gonna come out to 280 after everything
@@samuelrich7286 if you have to buy all the tube metal, that sounds close, but maybe a little high. I had all the metal so I didn't need to buy that. Metal prices are crazy these days though. Definitely shop around.
@@kelly.mondragon i found a guy near me that gave me 3 pieces of like 16 inch 2x2” 1/8 wall and 3 pieces of 1-1/2”x1-1/2” 1/16 wall for 10 bucks. I can just weld it but i also have another guy that offered me a solid 28” 2x2 and will get that friday and maybe longer pieces of 1-1/2
@@samuelrich7286 nice find! Definitely would like to see your final build.
Dude no way Mondragon is your last name? Are you in any way related to Dr. Mondragon who is a chiropractor and has her own RUclips channel??? I’ve never heard of that name in my life until her….I’d imagine it’s a extremely rare name.
@@greeneyesfromohio4103 I've never heard of the chiropractor Mondragon. I would say it is a somewhat rare name, but I do know a few other Mondragons nearby that I am not related to. So maybe not extremely rare 🙂
Good game. Terrible back ground noise! Ahh music😳
Ha! I use the music the players like, but I normally have to mute it myself 🙂
Looking great cowboys!! Thanks for the video 👍
No Thrust bearings? Mine has two eyelets too, but with a .1/2 shoulder bolt. I drilled a hole in the front of my fingers opposite of the thumb screw and installed a spring so when I adjust mine, the finger just moves back and forth without any slop. The springs keep the adjustment screw against the press at all times. I don't know why people leave this feature out. It is one of the easiest parts of the build.
@@dewboy910 two great ideas. Thanks for the suggestions.
Thanks Kelly!!! Kal-El Fields #59 <3
Thank you for sharing your build, looks great. I built most of this over the weekend, ran into a couple bumps but still very happy with the results so far. Your eyelids that you welded for the fingers( I ordered the same ones off eBay) do you feel that the 1/2 inch hole is necessary or could you of just stayed with the 7/16 predrillled hole? One other question, could you share the dimensions of the eyelids that you welded?
@@octwin definitely can stick with 7/16 if that works better for you and you have a pin that fits. I cut the eyelets at 1.5" x 1.5" square and then grinded the top corners to round them out.
Becker Points
Thank you for taking the time to make and share this video! Looking at your design, I think if I were to follow your inspiration, I would try to make use of both sides of the stand with the press on the far side and the draw board on the near side so there isn't a need to be swapping fingers.
@@mcdonald408 very interesting idea. Makes it a little bulkier, but I like the thought.
use a ratchet strap or cam buckle strap. loop the ends around you limbs and tighten the strap till your limbs retract. As long as you are careful about loosening them it all works as well as anything you can build .
How did you came up with the video?
@@alvarosoares7930 frightprops.com
you could have the bar for the draw board collapse in to the arm would make it a lil less in the way working with the bow press configuration i like it though well done
Great Highlights Need to get the video taken from the top box! Missing out on a lot of topographical shots
I loved the highlights. They were amazing. Thanks for sharing. Your amazing 🙏♥️
Thanks Jack! Jayden is running so well!
Great highlights, I would love to keep seeing more GHS highlight videos like this! Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I'll likely be doing every game and a final season highlight video for the next for years while my son is in high school :)
Awesome video. How far did you space your bow finger eyelets?
Thanks! 3.5", inside to inside
Impressive. Nice build. 👍
Thanks! 👍
Nice Job!
Do you have a issue with the bow coming out the bottom of press when pressing due to end of the limbs being curled back in some?
Nope. I've had about a dozen different bows in it by now and never had an issues. The way the fingers are designed make it almost impossible.
Will the airbags respond quickly enough on valves with 1/4” tubing? My friend suggested that, so I bought solenoids with 1/4” ports but now I’m worrying if those would deflate fast enough.
Sorry, just saw this. I am skeptical that 1/4" will give you enough air. Only one way to find out!
One quick question! Did you use a bearing at the end of the 2 inch tubing, mounted on the all thread. This bearing will support the all thread and turn smoothly. Great build! I like your design where you have the two plates welded to the square tubing. thank you for sharing your design.
I did not, but that is a smart idea. It is still pretty smooth though. I put grease on it and it has never bound up.
FYI...I decided I don't like the angle of the bow when I hang the bow on the bar stock for the draw board. I was worried the string might derail. So I've just started taking the pin out and hanging the bow on the square tubing. It works better because it keeps the bow perfectly square. I may even cut off the bar stock since I won't be using it for the draw board anymore.
Nice build man
Great job, it’s totally insane 👍
Amazing!!!
Could you show the double nut ,on handle!!? Mine is sliding way out before it connects for pressing etc!!
It is as simple as putting two nuts tight together on the other side of the handle. The positive engagement will keep them, and your handle, from moving out.
@@kelly.mondragon thanks 👍👍
You have a Bill Of Materials and cut list
The materials are in the description. I'll add a cut list soon. I did measure the tubes. The bigger tube is 28" and the smaller tube is 26". Should be able to fit almost any bow you can throw at it.
Be very careful with this. Last Chance has been known for coming after people doing this, especially when your design is pretty much their design.
Really? Interesting. I'm not selling the press or the plans. Not sure what they would come after me for...
You can’t come after someone for making something for person use.
Looks good man!!! 👌
Nicely done! 👏👏👏 I’d like to start working on my own bow but bow press and draw board are $$$$. Too bad I don’t have the equipment/tools to build this.
Nice Job! I have been contemplating doing this instead of spending the $1000 on one. Thanks for the links.
LCA green press is around $400.
How long is the tubing for the press
The bigger tube is 28" and the smaller tube is 26". Should fit pretty much any bow you can throw at it.
You built this for 150$-200$?
Yes I did. However, like I mentioned in the video, I had most of the steel. So all I bought were the fingers ($80), the aluminum rod ($10), the winch ($25), plastic square plugs ($10), all-thread rod ($10), and spray paint ($10). I haven't priced metal lately, but I bet you could get it all from a scrap yard for less than $100 if you don't have any laying around like I did.
Hey there! Amazing set up! How did u make the laser swamp?
Sorry, just saw this. They sell lasers on amazon for this purpose. These are the ones I bought: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B099P9366F Then just combine with a fog machine.
What on earth
Sometimes I search "student video" or "school project" and sort by new just to feel the devestating second hand theater kid energy but you all absolutely 100% committed to your roles I would like to formally endorse Tanner Perkins as class president of Placeville, Stateland 👏😔
Wow!!! Phenomenal!!’n 😱😍👍
Another question. How do you control the amount of incoming air for each bag?
I don't have much control over the airflow into the air springs with this setup. It is basically inflate or deflate. You can control the amount of pressure coming in using your compressor gauge. I'm sure you could get more control if you needed it for your project.
Hello and thank you very much for sharing. What are the dimensions of your elevator's basket?
Sorry, just saw this a year later! The basket is 5x5.
That is amazing!! Well done!
Hey awesome job! I am making an elevator this year , just curious where you got the video on the tvs and of it is possible to send it to me ?
Sorry, just saw this a year later! I got the video from Fright Props. They sell it on their website. Hopefully you figured that out by now if you were building one last year :-)
@@kelly.mondragon yes I found it ! Thanks for the inspiration! Everyone loved it
@@Eman425 if you have a video I'd love to see it!
Hello. Thanks very much for sharing your project. I commend you for that. Where did you get the air springs from (make model);also, what type of solenoid valves did you use? Finally, how big is the compressor on your amazing video. Thanks
I'm sorry for the delayed response. I got the air springs and solenoids from Amazon. Links below. I used two 21 gallon compressors, but they were used for more than just the elevator. I had some other props nearby that also used them. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072MJRCDB www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08Y5KTV95
Very nice.
Since this is an industrial elevator, We ask that you use caution when riding. You might find it interesting to know that this exact elevator shaft has been in place for almost a century discovered long before Kennywood was ever built. Sealed shut for nearly 50 years. No one has actually gone down under the shaft.....
I wish that was still there.
First I've heard of that elevator 🙂
Gg
We will be back😉
We’ll see you there
