Also a vendor at my local antique store had a lot of utica ny bottle caps. She said a bottling co in utica ny burnt down and they tossed everything that urvived on the side of the road and the previous owner before her grabbed them in the 50s.

Thank you very much! The genesee brewing company in rochester is a beer brewery. The indian soda bottles from Rochester are valuable and rare. The mountain ones are utica ny. Next bottle that I'd like you to research is Mohawk Valley Bottling Works of Herkimer Ny. I will post the images of that bottle on my yt channel.

hi Brandy. Dukee is a common bottle. there are a bunch of different kinds. the challenge sauce was a competitor to Lee& Perrins. And the salad dressing is a cool looking one.

The Kecksburg bottling plant closed at the end of 1989 and became a warehouse for a short time before moving to a warehouse in Youngwood, Pa. I was the person in this video who the article was about near the end of the video. The article was my marriage announcement from June 1, 1985. I was a 1976 graduate of Ford City high school. I worked for Pepsi full time until its closing and continued to work part time until 1998. The bottling plant was across the street from where you filmed on the main road.

Believe it or not, this is a better source of information than Phillips wikipedia page. I'm here because I can't find who invented pepto bismol. They credit a seemingly anonymous New York doctor in 1900 with the formula, but I can't find out who it is.

They definitely went back to paper label before the 60s, probably more like latte 40s. The reason I know this is I’ve dug hundred of 50s dumps and you simply do not find embossed milk of mags in that age, not saying you couldn’t find an old throwaway but it’s rare.

My suspicion is that one would either write a letter, turn it over, then copy the "ghosted" writing from the backside with copying ink, or perhaps they just wrote originals on onionskin paper, tracing vellum, or thinner layout bond weight papers. The letter press idea was later developed for the concept used in mimeograph machines.

Great presentation. I remember our grade school classes touring the facility. I grew up in Bellows Home. At one time we had many of the old coke bottles and paraphernalia. We called Coke, Bellow's belly wash. A lot of history there. My folks still live in his house, which was built with the same brick as the old Coke plant.

I remember Durkee making grated coconut. In the '60's they put out a series of pamphlet/cookbooks of patterns for "fancy" party cakes. There was a butterfly, a bear, a balloon, a turtle, an elephant, a heart, a shamrock. So many I can't remember. And all covered with Durkee food coloring dyed Durkee coconut. Mother was always making one to fit the occasion. Great memories !!! Thanks

Hi Brandy. good job. the Arnholt & Schaefer bottle is a nice one. they also come in amber bottles. you find them quite a bit in New Jersey around Camdon .

hi Brandy. trying to track down some bottles is almost impossible. It was an easy business to get in to and most were short lived. The Hutchinson is fairly common mostly in 1890s and early 1900 dumps. beer was never used in them. and I have not seen one in amber.
