But why photons have momentum despite having no mass?
The definition of momentum used in Newton’s laws of motion is NOT useful for photons! Find out where Newton was wrong and how Einstein remedied it!
N.B: The trick that special relativity uses is to use proper velocity in the definition of momentum. Proper velocity is simply distance travelled divided by the proper time i.e. the time elapsed in a clock moving with the object.

From Wavefunctions to 3D Art: Visualizing the Atomic Orbitals
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.8 месяцев назад
3D simulations of atomic orbitals of Hydrogen for n = 6 using Monte Carlo method. This is a follow up video of my earlier video ruclips.net/video/8DL4ruQSObc/видео.html on atomic orbitals. As usual, the particles are not the electrons; rather they are used to represents the electron probability density function. As compared to the earlier video, the particles are larger but their number is less...
What Atomic Orbitals Really Look Like in 3D? [Quantum Physics]

Awesome 3D simulations of Hydrogen atomic orbitals for n = 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 using Monte Carlo method. The particles are not the electrons; rather they are used to represents the electron probability density function. The theory and technical details of these simulations are at the end of the video. Math Art Animations: Hypotrochoids [Spirograph]
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.11 месяцев назад
In this math animation (drawing) video, watch the simple mathematical equations of hypotrochoid produce a set of beautiful patterns. Note that hypotrochoids are curves traced by a point attached to a circle at some distance from the center, with the circle rolling around the inside of a fixed circle. Spirograph toys can be used to draw hypotrochoids. Credits: Math animations created using the o...
Oppenheimer’s most cited scientific work

Most cited scientific contribution of Robert Oppenheimer is well known as the Born-Oppenheimer approximation. It is a widely used tool in quantum chemistry. In the video the blue circles with " " sign represent the nuclei while the green filled circle around the nucleus represents electron cloud. References: 1. Ira N. Andromeda in just 15 years? The Relativity of Accelerated Rockets
Просмотров 499Год назад
Explore the fascinating concept of accelerated rockets within the realm of special relativity and their potential to revolutionize interstellar travel by pushing the boundaries of time. A relativistic rocket could take you to such interstellar destinations in your lifetime that you possibly never thought would be possible. References: 1. D. A. An easy experiment to demonstrate Length Contraction of moving objects [Relativity]
Просмотров 2 тыс.Год назад
The concept of length contraction of moving objects in special relativity is related to the existence of magnetic force. This is explained with animation and equations along with an easy to carry out experiment that acts as a demonstration of relativistic length contraction of moving objects. In essence, the combination of laws of electrostatics, charge invariance and special theory of relativi...
