NO! Don't go with the side pipes I installed. They were NOT my choice, they came new in the van when I bought it he guy that sold it to me bought them. Instead buy "Patriot Exhaust H1185 Lake Pipes" single outlet NOT the 3 tip outlet. The "85" stands for the length for 85 inches. I don't know if your van is a shorty or long wheel base. So ignore the "85" so that number is so you can check them out. They are MUCH better looking and only about $140.00 dollars more. Only bad thing is I think they only have them with 2 inch connector pipes and 3 are dummy non-functional pipes. I will check out your channel. Thanks for watching mine! You can remove the door panel. First you need to remove the door latching chrome handle and the window crank. And then unscrew all of the door panel screws and the panel will come off then remove the 3 door jamb latch screws. Your best bet is the wrecking yard for a replacement door latch and while you're at it get the door hinges at least the top one in case your door drops down when opening it. If you don't have any G Vans in the junk yard for the parts you can buy them on ebay. Thanks for watching.

You also need to remove the door handle/arm rest to remove the door panel absolutely NO Sawmill needed! And you also need to remove the bolt for the window track located behind the door panel in order to remove the latch / lock.

Thanks for posting. I'M 57 years old and until today, I have NEVER seen a single Scooby van in person or driving down the street or at any car show. If you do an internet or RUclips search you can find them, and it makes them look to be a "dime a dozen" but that is really NOT the case. I too am an "A-Team nerd" and plan on painting my 1981 Chevy Van that would make M-T jealous. To day if you have enough money why not live your childhood dreams?

You do not need to remove the window. Just lower it all the way down.

No, I haven't installed the front bumper yet. Unfortunately when you have as many cars as I do things pile up. But that front bumper is going to be difficult to install as I will have to remove the steering box in order to instal it. And I also want to paint it and then I will have to do that job twice. So I figured I would wait until spring and paint it and install the bumper once and be done with it. But rest assured I will post a video of the job and I also have a new Torque converter, Comp cam lifters and springs to give it a nice choppy sound so I can get it on the registered and on the road.

@@ricksteelcustoms3196 ya that could be it too. I’m not sure I recall seeing a 1980 with round headlights? I just thought it was something that got used through transition of years.

I just took a look at my shorty and it was manufactured back in November of 1977

Thanks for watching Matthew. I recommend this because I work on cars often. If you like to turn a wrench / ratchet as much as I do then YES this is definitely a tool for you. Think about all the money you'll save doing your own oil changes. I just finished changing the Trans fluid on my 2005 Mercedes Benz SL500 and it cost me $200.00 doing it myself. The "Stealership" wanted $600.00 so I saved $400.00 doing it myself, and I have the added satisfaction of knowing it was done right. But please do use Jack stands always whenever you get under a car, safety first! But you will love how much more stable lifting is with this jack attachment. Thanks again!

You do NOT need the "X" Frame at all. These cars were very strong and stiff with a fully boxed frame from the factory. My car is a California built car so it has the seamless frame. I drove it 1100 miles all the way from the Peoples Republic of Commiefornia to El Paso Texas as it is now and there was no door rattling or popping open But that being said I do intend to upgrade this frame. In fact I already have, still in the box from Art Morrison a chassis stiffening kit that I intend to weld on. But again you really don't need to do it, but I figured what the hell, I will make a video when I get around to installing it and post it on my channel. So be sure and subscribe and hit the notification box. And in the mean time I will make a video just for you showing the kit I bought. Also I will show you how the exhaust will be routed and to save you money you don't need to buy the complete kit, if you have a Iron supply company near you you can pick up the non-complicated pieces from them to save on shipping costs and from Morrison mark up. I certainly do not blame you for wanting to do that. Check your local wrecking yards and ask them if you can use a Sawzall or better yet a cut off grinder. I cut body panels off all the time at my local "you pull it." But I'm sure you know that will be a monumental job. Might be better off reselling or even trading for he van you want. I would run a Craigslist ad offering the swap. Take photos of your van put them on there and see what happens. I bought 3 of my 5 vans through Craigslist wanted ads in the auto parts category. Speed Racer was my all time favorite cartoon as a kid.

I bought them on Ebay. But they do NOT make seals for the older vans I think 1980 down. So you need to buy them for 81 and up. Because the wing windows are slightly different on the newer vans. The channel the seals fit into Are a LOT skinnier on the older wing windows. So the newer seals do not fit unless you cut the wing window portion of the seal. Or replace the older wing window with a newer van wing window. The newer and improved wing windows bolt right on and are a direct replacement. You might have a lot of issues with a "4.5 inch drop" in the front. I had to replace my front wheels for 17 inch wheels so the rims would not hit the lower control arms. And I had to cut about 4 inches of drip rail out of my lower control arms.

Appreciate the info on the windows. I am hoping to avoid the rubbing by installing tubular lower control arms from western chassis. Also 15x7 wheels and 195 50 15 tires . Small I know…but with Chrome 100 spoke standard dish Daytons . Trying to get it as low as possible without cutting it all up. Classic California lowrider look. It’s a shorty with keystone wheels and had a slight rake. Every time we have the van out cruising… it sure turns heads and always getting comments. All original and shag carpet and velvet on complete interior.

@@Gregslife419 I had 15 x 8 Cragers on the front and they rubbed. So I went with 17's on the front and 20 Torque thrust 2's you can check it out on my other videos.
