It's kinna funny that most deathless or "Best Ending" run choose Order instead of Faith. Gotta love Morning Gathering!
I survived with 492. The Dad returns with his child just in time.
Nice job. Just set this up on my 4th run of the game to get platinum. I messed up my 3rd ending like a jackass. Hahaha good kill.
i used this weapon on my 2nd playtrough and beat him first time due to overwhelming the boss w staggers lol
2:17 every time fcking goosebumps 💀
i litterally never seen a win screen not telling me i crossed a line or ask me at what cost
Outstanding. Beautiful city. I salute you, Captain.
The bellow of the horn is one of the most satisfying aspects of the sound design in this game. They nailed it perfectly
How? You have to cros the line at some point but you didnt. HOW
I first tried New Home with faith and crossed the line... I'd like to say "a" line since I didn't sign the protector of truth. There was some deliberation with the Public Penance but seeing the deteriorating weather coming, I was worried about the Londoner situation since hope falls during whenever the weather does. Never used the skill of the faith keepers, but the public cermonies and stuff were astoundingly helpful, especially later on when I realized I was behind schedule on research (no lvl5 on day 31) so I had to call overtime throughout the coming days. My coal was very much in the clear from Steam Coal Thumpers alone, earning 2k each day. Food however, required a bit of rushing since by the time I researched the lense for the storm, i had less than 4 days left. Seeing the mission list, I decided to just build a buckload of Hunter Hangers which got me there and some more. The Storm however was definitely challenging. Thriughout the duration of the storm, I had to dismantle buildings for steam cores to build more automatons and more infirmaries (Care houses were rather worthless, the house of healing helped to some extent). In all honesty, I went overboard on the automatons since thier main purpose was coal, and I am gaining more than I am using at full generator power. I didn't research the infirmary thing to use half as many engineers-they're better insulated there. The real kicker was by the time it drops 1 level twice, nearly a day apart. My people were getting sick from the dismantling work, the infirmaries were full, but people are making quick recoveries with food aid. All just a couple hours before the double 1 lvl drop. So I slammed the Overdrive. Things were stable, people got better, some sick from extra dismantling work but by this point, only the automatons were working the hard labour. Until the forcast of the end of the storm with gloomy time before it. Hours before the 3 lvl drop, my generator was 86% stressed, I had to flick it on and off constantly to hold balance. I manged to drop it to 82% but at the cost of 60+ sick from a slight mismanagement. It hit hard, the generator reaching critical stress after an hour or 2, tried to do the flicking move but it kicks the sick from thier beds. So I had to grit my teeth, 106 sick, a couple hours before dawn, 95% stress. I couldn't entrust myself to such piety that my citizens hold, so I had to flick the overdrive off and try to play the game again. For an (ingame) hour, I balanced the generator until the abrupt end of the storm. No one died from the storm. No more than 6 gravely ill and 3 deaths through the city's founding. One death was from overtime, the second was londoners killing a faith keeper. The last one... Idk what happened, it was a child too.
wait what? the game has actualy ending💀guess i never survived long enough. I thought it would go on forever
Is that end cutscene a timelapse of your town? Pretty neat if so
Yeah it is :)
what buildings are those on the most outer ring ?
They are resource depots.
Always played faith in my games. Order just was never my style
1:31 mass robotisation event, the machines won (and its good)
Always results in this ending if you're a rational person and do the laws accordingly lol Still wish there was an option for more civil laws instead of the MANDATORY choice of religion vs 'order'
Art/entertainment should have been the third option
@@wile123456 yeah... And/or just another page of civil law
Literally "Adaptation" tree with pubs and other bullshit
And once again, the soundtrack is just perfect. Never fails
Huh I never got the ending without crossing the line. Didn't even know that was possible lol. Guess I just really like my city to be well behaved, can't be having people doing whatever they want in minus 150°C right? Or something like that lol
Man... This game, when I bought it, I could not sleep until I finished all the scenarios... What a legendary creation.
What most unreal of this game is they don't just put down the captain most of the time, like they're okay being treated bad as long as the bar is open, and while the captain actually a functioning leader that put the good of their people first rather than just secure themself, well maybe that's also because their life depends on each other tho 😅
its funny because it goes the other way too people will be living their best life during the biggest storm theyve ever seen, but will want to get rid of you over soup
So wait what's the "golden path?" Just not doing something tyrannical with either order or faith
Yeah it means not making any decisions which might cause slightest resentment. E.g. you're not allowed to pass all laws. When prompted to build more shelters, maintain heat, etc. you're forced to choose the option that will bring the biggest reward and must keep the promises. Basically be a good guy trophy.
Are automatons really that good? I'm on my second attempt and it's been going great but I never even considered getting more automatons than the steel bridge one
The fact is that hey dont stop to work, so the overall output of the buildings is better. In addition to this, they dont need warmed working places, so they are ideals for mines and wood extractors
@@exodedeath5418 I ended my game with 8 days of just being afk, thanks to having about 8 automatons I didn't expose any human (not even children) to the cold, all of them were locked down and only went out to eat, automatons make the final storm comically easy
I like how when the credits say "So We Adapted" the heaters got turned on so the snow vanished like they actually did adapt.
Reminds me of Belobog
and now you try the "worse than London" archievement. It goes surprisingly well with....no whom am i kidding. Its horrible, and you will have to shit out Hospitals (in english infirmaries) until the end of times. Your map will look like a Chinese seclusion camp for people infected with corona
😂🎉😂
my city survived with only couple of people
I envy people who can make such organized cities lol. Last time i played the game i endedu up in a dictatorship, lost about 70% of my people to the storm and sent 2 children to the furnace BUT THE CITY SURVIVED
Ayo after 5 attempts my ending was nearly golden (i f up ending so i lost some people) yet i find it very interesting that i had such a good ending
Otherwise of losing someone in a prison because I didn’t give them a blanket, I didn’t cross the line and saved everyone else so yay
Leto would’ve been proud
One of the most amazing things about this game is how well depicted is human psychology.... when you get the news of winterhome the people fall to mass panic and turn into a moronic bunch of scared sheeps
That's why we need good leaders. A competent dictator will ALWAYS be better than a flawed democracy.
@@amirhaikal6672 Lol, what an asinine opinion. For every Augustus you'll get 20 Caligulas surrounding themselves with incompetent yes-men corrupting the country and then when he dies, a high chance of bloody infighting where the most ruthless instead of the most competent wins out. Democracy may be slow and cumbersome while at the same time struggling to pursue long-term policies as it hurls itself from election to election, but at least changing the government when it fucks up is built into the system as the normal state of affairs. Good luck doing that with an entrenched dictator who has the military on their side and focuses only on robbing the country blind.
@@amirhaikal6672you are a simpleton
@@amirhaikal6672 The only real way one can pick dictators is with there susport base, which tends to be not much more competent than the flawed democracy. Every ruler needs people to support them but the dictator needs generals, and other tools of oppression much more than a democracy.
@@brendenhawley2225 I love that you contridict yourself in the same sentence. Tools are just that. Tools. If used correctly by a correct individual even tools of oppression can bring peace and happiness. Plus what kind of retarded nation *cough* the united states *cough* chooses their leaders based on a popularity contest?
I had no idea Frostpunk had an "ending". I didn't enjoy the game because I thought things were just supposed to get worse and worse until you inevitably lost.
That's endlessly chapter my man You theoretically could survive for very very very long time but No resources is unlimited (except walldrills those are freakin op due unlimited wood = charcoal) But yea no walldrills could run into coal/charcoal problem which could result dying for the city
@yogyomardiutomoskyriz2957 what are you on about every resource has infinite varients
@@toastytacos702 ya I fail somehow because coal problem in endless mode Slowly dying here Perhaps my skill issues
@@yogyomardiutomoskyriz2957 ...there's coal mines?!?!?!? AND coal thumpers?!? In fact coal is far too easy to get in endless mode?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
@@thomasprice7893 like I said I have skill issue at that time 🤣
Damn good for you man, I turned my city into a dictatorship
Why do I keep hearing order is better than faith? Faith has unmanned sanctuaries that have their own heating, that's gold!
WORK IS VIRTUE! PRAISE OUR GREAT LEADER! It's just a vibe
And that "vibe" is very popular amongst strategy game players for some reason. In this case though, both paths get pretty [redacted] so I guess it just depends if you want your "vibes" flavored with robes or with leather.
It’s so tempting to just press Eshift
as a person who frequently tries rts games with 0 losses, this is a great run. liked and subscribed
thank you :)
@@wolfjod Can you do the walk through for this game I would love to see how you layout this city so perfectly and so organize. Also ready for round 2! Cause the sequel coming.
And then DLC told you that you turn everything to shit anyway.
The Edge scenario right?
@@runfastman3866 I think so. The one about mine. There was geyser hippie neighbor settelment too.
@sharemation5339 The dlc talks about New London having an administration. My personal theory is that the captain we play as didn't survive the Great Storm, and the people had to pick up where we left off.
@@kingcamelot1395 The main story is in New Liverpool, and the On the Edge scenario is related to New London ... kinda different cup of tea, ain't it? :))
@@gruiadevilbuddy, the end screen of this very video says "New London"
It’s kind of scary how the city justifies its own fall into dictatorship by saying that there was no other way to survive, which although true (and at least better than becoming a theocracy) is still terrifying to think about.
by golden path ending, you mean that nobody died and no "bad decision" was made? It kinda feels like the end credits wants you to feel bad either way
I like the part where it says "we refused to give up on anyone" :) but they could've been nicer
I think the game is trying to emphasize that no matter the decisions you make, even if you did the best you possibly could, there are always going to be problems if your city is to survive. you will always be pushing on unreasonable with order or religion. work will always be uncomfortable, people will always get sick and theres just no avoiding it. no matter what you do, you will always be given difficult decisions, and sometimes theres no right answer. sometimes your only options are to let people die, or force them into change. However, as long as you dont cross the line, you will be known for doing great things, and normal society can still be possible.
@@wolfjod How did you get thism if you don't mind me asking. Like, what laws did you end up picking?
@@magni5648 Copying from a reddit thread: www.reddit.com/r/Frostpunk/comments/penn9w/golden_path_achievement_2021/ Permitted Laws · Adaptation: Soup, Extra Rations for the Sick, Sustain Life, Care House, Prosthetics, Cemetery, Ceremonial Funerals, Child Shelters, Medic (or Engineer) Apprentices, Fighting Arena, Public House & Moonshine · Purpose - Faith: House of Prayer, Evening Prayers, Shrines, Field Kitchens, The Temple (*House of Healing is still disputed, though scripted deaths like the old man dying leaving a thank you note apparently doesn’t count against earning this trophy, but I didn’t chance it and used Infirmaries instead). NEVER use Faith Keepers. · Purpose - Order: Neighborhood Watch, Morning Gatherings, Foreman, Guard Stations, Patrol (*when the lady comes to you about bad guardsmen, always reprimand the guards). I actually have "savior" steam achievement, wich means that I win new home scenario without deads from cold, hunger, over-work or ilness, it take me three attempts, tough.
Hats off to you sir. I guess if i had done the same run in hard mode i would get that achievement. But doing in medium difficulty was hard enough.
@@wolfjod Honestly I don't know wether difficulty matters in it, I don't played for some time, perhaps there was some one dead from those factors wich you overlook?
@@marcelgrabowski5939 wait you're right. I do also have the "Savior "achievement. i got confused with "Iron savior" which requires you to do it on hard mode.
Not enough hospitals. Hospital's the most OP building for the final storm since it has the highest insulation rating, but also a built-in heater. Ended up dismantling all greenhouses for rows upon rows of hospitals to ensure no one gets more than a mild sickness during the end.
Yeah that was a mistake. As it was a deathless run i tried my best to keep everyone warm and didnt need many infirmaries. Shortly before the the storm i realized and made a bunch of them haha.
@@wolfjodyou literally didn’t lose anyone? That’s amazing. Whatever are most of them even doing all day?
@@mackenziebeeney3764 if you build the robots, they can supply any resources like coal or timber while the people stay home. If they are working, people die during the final storm.
@@mackenziebeeney3764 yeah this was a deathless run. But a few refugees died as my scouts didn't escort them towards the city. Most of my people literally did nothing since mid-game as mostly everything had automatons.

question; HOW
don't make bad choices don't be a sucker have atleast 80k coal have as many food as possible build as many infirmary as you can make sure you have alot of automatons when ramdom event about a engineer and 1 automaton that want steamcore. give him and you need have 2 steamcores to give him so he will research for you medical automatons and alway have atleast 3 automatons working in infirmary finally (the most important choice) DO NOT let people work in the storm but you can let they work in the kitchen and public house amd any order or faith buildings

One thing about the faith path I like but took me awhile to utilize was the field kitchens. They are quite handy in a pinch keeping workplaces just a bit warmer

I envy your ability to create perfectly circular cities

its the most efficient design for a city if terrain permits that is
The placement grid is circular in the game, idiot.
