Those stones were cast using a geopolymer mortar. How you know is that when you dissect them, they are filled with air bubbles, indicative of a mortar pour, also the stones do not resemble natural stone in that if it were limestone, the limestone shells are all jumbled. In natural limestone however, the sea shells are all horizontally displaced in the position which they initially settled to the bottom of the ocean. Not in these stones, intead they are all jumbled, indicative of grinding the stone into a powdery consistency, then adding a mortar like cement

All their technology, and virtually all traces of their civilization could just be long gone, or still buried deep and waiting to be found, likely in the Sahara or Amazon. No reason this has to be aliens.
