Good update Derek and I enjoyed the tour at Gaudet's shop. There's a couple of really nice projects going on there. I'm too old to start another and this may be my last year behind the wheel. Eye sight is getting worse and mobility issues -- the reality of getting old ! I'm going to try and email you some photos of my '32 Roadster - again. The last time something went wrong and the delivery failed. Belated Happy New Year to you and the camera lady from the UK 🇬🇧.
Thanks! Yes I'd like to see your roadster. Please try and send some photos to coldstreamrodshop@gmail.com Happy new year and all the best to you as well!
Derek! I never knew you had a RUclips channel. How cool is that?! You just got a new subscriber!
Hi Daniel! Thanks! Yes we've had it 4 years now. Hope you're doing well!
Happy new year ! God damn’ ! Why are you so far away from me ☹️ Awesome workshop 😮
Thanks for the kind words! Happy new year to you too!
I have 2 fenders that are really bad. This show is helping out a lot. I have two places where the metal is folded together plus bad welds that will have to be cut to get the shape back.
Very happy to hear that our experience fixing our fenders is helping you with yours. Thanks for watching!

GREAT AS ALLWAYS THANKS
Thanks for watching!
And Moncton 32 Coupe, please contact me thank you
Would you send me an email at coldstreamrodshop@gmail.com I'll then forward you Tony's contact information for the coupes
I’m interested in the 34 ford coupe project
I sold a 1932, 5-window body to a guy in Moncton 40 years ago, it came out of a hay loft in Crosspoint, Quebec. I never saw it again, possibly he saved it all these years to do it now. People always say they shouldn't have sold cars they had in the past, this is one of those. I think his last name was Melanson, hey that was 40 years ago. Take care
I know a Melanson in NS into 1932 sedans. A lot of these cars change hands. It's more than possible that your car is still on the road. We just picked up a 32 5 window body that came from new Brunswick for all I know that could be it. They really didn't build that many and not many survived here.
Awesome work! The word your looking for is "cleeee"....."cleee-cos". Kinda like saying "in your glee"......but with a C. We use them on aircraft as well.
Ok thanks. These were given to me by a guy in a junkyard and were covered I burnt plastic. I picked away at them every day or so till I cleaned them up. I have some that you use with pliers too but I really like the ones with the wing nuts.
I notice you are using knee pads. I have used them for the last 30 years and my knees are in good shape at 76 years of age. Nice work on the 32s
Yes I had to start using them all of the time about a year ago. I always had them but didn't use them much. I pinched a nerve in my right knee last year from working on my knees on the concrete without them, not good. I use the knee pads whenever I kneel down now. Next goal is to not kneel down as much and to bring the work up to me, this will be a little more difficult.
Could you show the parts you used on the windshield.the pivot pieces I’ve tried have been too wide and cause the a gap between the station and the windshield
Do you have a Brookville body or an original? This body had three spacers between the passenger side station and the body to widen the windshield posts. I didn't install this windshield. On the camera ladies roadster body I had to open the holes up in the body to lower the stations so that the windshield posts would open up some. It's possible that you may have to do the opposite to shift the stations up to close the gap.
@ I have a brookeville body
Have you tried Rust Mort. It treats the metal and kills the rust
I've used POR15 and I'm going to try Eastwood's rust encapsulator next. I'll check and see if I can get rust mort for the next time.
Rust Mort is a liquid. You spray it on let it set then wash it off. Stops the surface rust so you don't have to go back and clean the rust off again, saves time.
Always! Great Falls Montana
Thanks for watching, we appreciate it!
Happy New Year's Derrick, I'm interested in your friends information . Keep it coming Brother
Tom would you message me on Instagram DM, Facebook Messenger or send me an email to coldstreamrodshop@gmail.com I'll then forward you their contact information

Derek didn’t think the coupe would come up for sale. The 34 looks a big project from what I could see. But it’s nice there out there and could be had by the right person. Thanks for taking us along. Tim.
I didn't think it would be for sale either but I think he has his eye on another better deal if he can move some of these along.

Great people very knowledgeable with projects whether new to them or not ,fabrication techniques second to none nice tour .
Hi Derek, apologies for the late comment, unfortunately I have been hit with a bad dose of the flu over the Christmas holiday. I'd just like to say how enjoyable it's been watching you over the last year. Your attention to detail is outstanding and I'm very much looking forward to seeing more of your creative skills in 2025. I'd like to wish a Happy New Year to you and the camera lady and thanks again for inviting us into the workshop...........Geof from the UK 🇬🇧.
Geof, hopefully you'll be well soon! Thanks for watching this year. All the best in the new year! We're going to keep it going for a while yet, as long as the work lasts anyways.
Geof. You’re not on your own. Most of my family has been unwell. My daughters 18 month year old had to go the doctors Monday. It’s been so wet. Let’s hope for a much better 2025.
Where did you source your replacement sheet metal panels?
They're from EMS Automotive in Detroit Michigan.
Beautiful job on those corners !
Wow i just stumbled on your Channel great work . Do you take on new customers .
Hi, thanks. We're booked up pretty solid for most of this year. If you want to send us a message on our Coldstream Rod Shop Instagram DM or on Facebook Messenger of what you're looking to have done, we can talk.
What a great job!!!
I love your channel and the work you do . What amazes me tho , is why you don't have 100K subscribers yet . They don't know what they are missing . They will come .Thanks for sharing ! ...Ontario
Thanks for watching and the kind words. We're having fun working on these projects.
Merry Christmas and happy new year 🎄🌟
Merry Christmas and all the best in the new year!
You have skills, Big time!
👍
What chassis are you using for the 58 ford?
I'm not sure yet to be honest. I've been talking with the owner and he hasn't decided yet to stick with the original frame and modify it or get a late model chassis and put that in it.
Great job Derrick .Have a great New year!
Thanks! Happy new year to you as well!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND CAMERA LADY GREAT VIDIO THANKS
Merry Christmas and all the best to you and yours in the new year! Thanks for watching!

Thanks! Merry Christmas and happy new year to you!
Awesome workmanship once again! Looking forward to seeing it osinted and back on the frame, didn't see the battery box being done? After paint . Keep on going!!!
Sorry we ran out of time and didn't make the battery box yet. We still have to make one for it. It will get done when it comes back from paint. Lots more to do on this one.
Merry Christmas! Nice work as usual.
Merry Christmas to you as well! Thanks for watching!
@@coldstreamrodshop you always have interesting content without having to watch you weld or grind or file... lol!
They are "wing nut clecos".
Thanks for the come back. I have learned so much from watching you. My back ground was auto body and paint from the late 60's to the present on newer cars and street machines. Lead work custom paint. So this type of work is new to me. Thanks I bought a 19" bead roller (with electric motor). Of course all the body tools along with a mig, tig, arc, plasma. Now I just need your knowledge doing this type of metal work.
I would hazard a guess that you probably have forgotten more than I'll ever know about body work and painting if you've been at it since the 60's! The only advice I can offer about metal working is just try it and keep trying, you'll learn from every piece you make even if it's not what to do. There's some really good step by step RUclipsrs out there that will help. Lazze metal work and Make it Kustom are 2 I like. Thanks for watching!
What was the brand? Was it a summit?
It was the best known American made cast axle you can buy. It was serialized fortunately so they were able to trace the manufacturing history. They replaced it and the other damaged parts. It was not a no name chinese axle.
A little late but I would like to wish you Derek and the camera lady a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. Take care both, Tim.
Tim, many thanks. Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you as well!
Where do you Buy your Chassis for the 1932 ford?
Both roadster chassis we are working on now are from Brookville roadster. We bought the perimeter frames from them which are basically boxed frames with front, center and rear cross members but no other brackets. I like to start with this and then put the rest on myself.
Your subscribers should be much higher . People don't realize what they are missing. You do a great job and I enjoy each episode . May I ask who makes that drivers side header ? Merry Christmas to you and yours !
Thanks for the kind words. I think our philosophy of no drama may limit us but that's the way we are. The headers on the flathead came from Speedway I believe.
Merry Christmas to you too!
👍
I'm a bit confused, is Brenda and your wife not the same person? I thought she was. Next question, why do you refer to your wife as the "camera lady", why don't you call her by name ? I think she deserves to be called by name for all the work she does for you! Now, on to other stuff. I really like the way yu tackle making all the sheet metal stuff with your limited amount of tooling. It shows a great amount of injunity (sp.) on your part, and shows us how to apply some logic to making parts. I used to own a 32 coupe and had to make some of the lower body panels and realize how difficult it was. You seem to work with a great deal of perfection in your work, it shows and I am amazed by how you do it so simply, I think? When you were doing the two 32 coupes, I thought all you did was 32 cars, but I see now that is not the case. You are really quite good and making panels and welding them in so as to look like original sheetmetal. I find your work to be pretty good. I really like the fact that you seem to take on almost any challenge and get it done. Hats off to you. By the way, you really have a clean shop. I wish I did. Rick
Hi Rick, thanks for watching and writing to us. The "camera lady" is my wife. She is extremely camera shy and insists on not calling her by name. She is the one though that deserves all of credit for the channel and all the posts on Facebook and Instagram and of course keeping everything in order. The roadster chassis with the y block motor is hers. The body for it is in our other building for now. The burgundy chassis with the black roadster body belongs to a friend and his wife's name is Brenda so we call that one Brenda's roadster. There is a 3rd roadster and chassis in the other building too that will be worked on next year that belongs to the same person that owns the 58 F100 cab I worked on. Unfortunately a lot of people I work with don't want to be highlighted on the channel or be named. Some are ok with it. I admit I prefer to work on 28-34 Fords but I will work on other cars too. There's more coming next year.
Coming out nice . Which make column is that , and is it a tilt ? Thanks
Yes it is a tilt. I don't know what brand it is as it was supplied by the owner. It's not an Ididit or flaming river for sure. There's no label on the box.
Great video, great yt-channel. Subscribed! Thanks.
Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Derek it looking very good , is that body a Brookville roadster body ?
Yes this is a Brookville Roadster body. It's an early one though. This body was stored for over 15 years before this project started.
