But he remained loyal, happy to serve the girl he loved. As the years passed, the donkey grew old and thin. Rose still rode him, kicking him to go faster. Though his body suffered, his heart remained full of love for Rose. For 30 years, the donkey served Rose, never regretting his life as a donkey. He was happy to carry her, her children, and even her husband, feeling grateful for every moment with Rose. The donkey loved Rose's smell, even when she didn't wash. He loved her original scent and even her fart. Rose seemed to know his feelings and rode him every day. Rose let her children and husband ride the donkey too. The donkey was happy to serve them, but his heart belonged to Rose. He feared the day she might leave or sell him. But Rose promised to never sell the donkey, and she took care of him. When she rode, she kicked him hard, breaking his ribs many times. The donkey suffered, but he didn't regret being a donkey. His body and soul belonged to Rose. If he could help her, he'd never regret being born a donkey. He lived for Rose, and his heart remained full of love for her.
