ORCASat Antenna Evolution
A video showcasing the evolution of the ORCASat deployable dipole antenna over the 3 years of development. On December 29, 2022 ORCASat was deployed from the International Space Station and successfully deployed its antenna. It took a lot of attempts and versions, but it worked!
By the way, the video only shows the antenna deployments that worked, what you don't see is every change was made for a reason.

Video slideshow showcasing the painting of the integrating sphere with Avian-B diffuse-reflectance coating. This video also has some painting of the exit port cone and nadir panel in the anti-reflectance paint (flat black Aeroglaze Z306). While Avian-B is non-toxic, Z306 is and we only had a limited weather window to paint outside so all painting happened in one very long day.

UNBOXING $3500 IN NANOSATELLITE PARTS!
What is the name of the song on minute 5 of the video? is amazing!
Congratulations
There's sooooo many PCBs because the board density is very low I wonder why.
Nice build bro. How may FPS does it run RDR at?
😂
Ohne diese sinnlose Musik wäre es glatt ein tolles Video geworden ^^ Und gern auch nicht beschleunigt. Nun denn....
What is the material of the wire holding the antennas?
Dyneema per their website. Although I'm curious what brand/supplier.
So much work and no one sanded the color of the tape measure antenna...
You need USB-C
Thanks for ruining it with the shitty unnecessary music
_The music is gratingly TERRIBLE._
What is it?
i want to know how or can you share with me details about the burn circuit for the deployment , thanks
Shame about the MUZAK.
Got to love all that Kapton tape 😂
Wow, really good idea! I am currently developing same type of system, and this video is really helpful, it is giving good ideas to think about!
What chip or microcontroller or chip do you use for processing, do you use FPGA?
Hope this thing is not really going into space :D can see bad solder joints on the solar panels from these views :D
how can i get this electronics module and antenna.
I guess it works, but its kinda funny that there is a rolled linear as an antenna
Great work! Question about it being sequential: so if you forgot a screw in the beginning, you got alot of days to think about your lifes decisions? 😂🎉🎉
That’s a mini satellite?
Isso mesmo.
Could you please help me on how to setup such a space lab please?
Odd question but the song is stuck in my head, what's the title of the track from 0:00 - 3:00?
👏👏🙌🙌
tht was cooooooooooool
Now it's AMU turn.
how mush it cost to build this satellite?
Please be advised to make a curved line on the end and avoid getting stuck in the process.
My favorite part about this sat is that it's literally a blinky light. It emits a known brightness of light near earth which astronomers on the ground can compare to distant objects and adjust for atmospheric interference. Love the tape measure antennas, too. That's fantastic.
Tape measures are actually really commonly used as antenna in smallsats. For some reason they’re perfect at doing exactly what they are needed for. One of the ones I’m working on utilizes this. When I first joined I thought it was a placeholder for the real antenna lol
How can I join in group
Coding free course
Congratulations!
this is the coolest thing ever
This was an awesome video and the music was perfect. I was at the gym watching this feeling super pumped.!
When does it go up?
Please more stuff like this 🙏
amazing work. wish I could join this lab
Hello,I am part of a team of students.. together we would like to design satellites and we were wondering if you, the ORCAsat team, would be willing to give us some advice.. Thanks in advance
What sort of battries are these? or capacitors?
What does that thing do ? What can it do ?
I wonder what that measuring tape was for. I suspect some sort of antenna.
Yes. ruclips.net/video/KpfQcibo58A/видео.html
Tape measures are perfect smallsat antennas :)
That looks really tedious! And really fun to do. I love it!
Beautiful
Yahoo! Great job ORCASat team!
This is severely under rated
Hearty congratulations 🎉🥳👍
Hey, how are you doing? Can I be a part of this Space CubeSat Family ❤️? I'm a big fan of these since I was a child 🤠
Nice
From success to success, a wonderful team, good luck🌷🌷
Congratulation team. Excited to see orcasat ground station please make a video
