I grew up in Logan 26st apts shoutout to my beautiful city

My family has been living in Logan since the 50s. Logan was a black community. Martin Luther King Jr. was in Logan as well. Your family probably knows my family. I live down the street and I’m black in Logan.

The only difference is you won't hear brown people talking about get him out of here or send him back to his country where different we're a little bit more respectful we know about pride and we know what it's like to be kicked out of your own land

Black people are obcessed with race and skin color.

Theres still black people in Logan - Barrio Logan and Logan Heights. But its a lot less than before. My grandfather and grandmother moved into the neighborhood waaaay back and my dad grew up when it was a majority African American neighnorhood. And one moment that is of major historical importance was when Robert Kennedy came on a parade float and stopped in the neighborhood. My grandfather stepped out of the house along with everyone else and was the only Mexican in a crowd of African Americans. It kinda sucks tho as unless if youre knowledgable on the past of the neighborhood most people dont believe you. But its not hard to see just look at the Churches that are still there that arent Catholic - they generally are mostly black congregations.

Just one thing i have to say, if there is a rennassaince of art and business growth in logan heights with the the locals behind the scenes as business owners and artists. This will not only stop gentrification but will grow the community, keep the culture alive, the traditions alive and the love will grow as well.. Long live logan heights, chicano park and Viva la Raza! ♥
