The piece is a modal canon. The parts are laid out as follows:
• lead voice (Soprano)
• the first following voice (Alto), is 3 bars behind the lead and a 4th below.
• the second following voice (Tenor), is 4 bars behind the lead and an octave below.
• the third following voice (Bass), is 5 bars behind the lead and a 12th below.
This configuration is followed strictly up until the last line.
Note that this is my January 2023 setting with an amended final cadence.
