first live band I ever saw in my life. I went to see the Get Up Kids, but they opened downstairs at the venue. Bought their CD and became fan. Fall of Canaryville is so good.

Man the indoor stage at Emo's, saw these guys and tons of other great bands on this Stage. Austin during the early 2000's had a lot of great indie, punk and just awesome rock bands in general. Now the rock is still around but the vibe is way different.

I know Buddy led the house band, not sure about Darrell's involvement, pretty sure the drummer and bassist were different folks.

That's not the house band -- that's Plant's new "Band of Joy." Buddy Miller leads both bands, but the "Band of Joy" has Byron House on bass and Marco Giovino on drums in addition to Patty Griffin and the amazing multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter Darrell Scott.
