yes on definatly needs a wire for SW. also feel lile the antenna is a bit short even for FM. i get bedt fm results using external fm antennas

@@VintageOils a ten tec bfo (nine volt) I put it in a box. With a rca socket(audio) the tuning dial out front w /power switch. All there just your fave hook up that's all PS.. in a box it came in handy for many radios and test eqp. Enjoy

​@@swlisteningit was in the afternoon around 16:00 local time; 14:00 utc it was a very sunny afternoon, i thought msybe that caused scatter. or its normal propagation in the 11m band. i usually dont go up there much, but that chaos sounds interesting😂

@@VintageOils I think the 11m band is particularly good during daytime. The BBC has a broadcast in the 11m band, it is at 14:00 UTC (16:00 my local time) from Italy to Africa. I usually pick it up quite easily and clearly. It is 25700 kHz.

@@swlistening you are right, i've got the same chaos on that frequency right now as i had yesterday. i am usually still at work when bbc is on that frequency. got to try on thursday

yes its actually really good for that price. curious to see how it performs in comparison with the R9012 btw i have got that R1000 now :) display is only showing a 0 though and the NB doesnt work. and it turn off when you press the timer button :D so i am going to offer that guy 40-50€. if he doesnt accept i'll have to return it. sounds great though. listening to MW with the MLA30 right now and sounds as good as the panasonic rf2200.

@@VintageOils Good to hear you like the sound! The digital display is a bit of an issue, but I suppose it is possible to see the frequencies on the band spread display. You would need to use some well-known frequencies as your guide though, because the band spread is not a fixed frequency display. Mine also goes quiet when you press the timer button, I don't think that is a flaw, probably needs to be set to a certain time.

@@swlistening glad to hear the timer is not broken :) so it is just the NB and the Display that dont work. adjusting the analog dial to a known station works really well. only have to do that once and it works on all the bands. the broken NB is a huge bummer. i am going to offer that guy 40€. without the nb it is actually noisier than my Panasonic DR22. not really worth spending 100€ on that. but for 40 it would still be cool.

Hi Igor, your German is great! Did you check Radio Romania, Radio Korea and Radio Taiwan for their German speaking broadcasts? they usually get very nice reception here in Germany Grüße nach Belarus! :)

Yes,i can and could receive radio romania in belarus in german 14.00-15.00 utc on sw between 9.45-9.75 mhz,radio taiwan in german 19.00-19.30 utc on sw 5.90 mhz and approximately on 5.00 mhz ,and kbs from South korea in german 20.00-21.00 utc on sw approximately on frequency between 3.80-4.00 mhz. I reccomend you to try to receive deutscher wetter dienst radio pinneberg from hamburg ,deutschland in german language 20.00-20.18 utc on sw 5905 khz and 6180 khz. This radio station transmits weather forecast . I contacted this station and it wrote to me,too,in answer in english. I write to many sw,mw stations and get a reply from them,too. I also received voice of turkey and voice of vietnam in german in sw. I received radio d.a.r.c. from deutsche amateour radio club in german 18.00-19.00 utc on sw 3955 khz. I learn swedish,german,spanish,portugese,a little chinese and a little japanese and plan to learn dannish. Thank you for saying that my german is great. I thought nobody would understand my german. @@ИгорьБелевич-ш4э your german is totally understandable :) still some mistakes in there, you are certainly able to communicate voice of turkey always comes with strong signal here too. vietnam not so much. i wish we sill had official AM stations here in Germany. Deutschlandfunk on LW was pretty nice

If you wish germany had 2 am radio stations,i advise to tune into short wave germany in the late evening 18.00-22.00 utc on sw 3975 and 6160 khz. It broadcasts music and some news in english and dictor makes comments in english and in german,but mostly in english. This stations says that they are not broadcasting for free,they ask to donate. Another german station radio channel 292 can be heard in belarus 20.30-21.00 and may be also 21.00-22.00 utc on sw 6070 khz and may be 19.00-20.00 utc on sw 3955 khz sometimes it broadcasts also...it transmits mostly music. World music radio from denmark at 20.45 utc on sw 5930 khz ,it has mostly music. Another station from denmark radio at 20.30 or may be better signal at 20.50 utc on sw 5970 khz ,it transmits music and at least 2 songs in danish every hour. It is impossible to receive them at day time in belarus. I can receive them only at late evening at around midnight in belarus on sw band ... Ich bin glucklich dass sie verstehen meine deutsch.

Short wave radio germany is a german sw station,19.00-22.00 utc on sw 3975 and 6160 khz.

i am located in germany. the catch in the video was around 16:25 UTC, 18:25 local time. i think they used to broadcast on 6005 or 7310 or aswell. maybe they are still using these frequencies today. not sure what their schedule is. i think they only broadcast for around 1 hour at a time. they must be sending out good signal, if it makes it all the way to belarus! greetings my friend

the icf 2001 is so bad on MW it os hard to put into words. my tecsun pl380 has better MW reception even though the ferrite antenna has a design flaw. the mla30 help a lot with MW on the icf but the tecsun R9012 i.e. has better reception on its on little antenna than the icf on the mla30. real bummer about that radio

@@VintageOils That's quite interesting. On my ICF-J40 it is the other way round, MW is really excellent, 5 inch internal ferrite coil antenna. But shortwave is poor. Not bad, but not really great. Just strong signals come through.

@@swlistening they both might have in common, that they are not outstanding on FM :D in fact i think is never heard of a Sony radio that is outstanding on FM. but i am spoiled by the Degen which has better FM reception than a good dsp radio

@@VintageOils Yes. Since the eighties on shortwave all over the planet, the follow up of the ships medium wave, with much greater range, English spoken, since autumn 2020 also on medium wave again, in a part of the Netherlands with a mainly dutch spoken service.
