I'm mainly a drummer, but I play a bit of everything. I play all kinds of music, including a lot from my favorite games. If you have an idea for what I should learn next, I'd like to hear.
"May" - for Percussion Ensemble
An original piece for percussion quintet:
Glockenspiel
Vibraphone
Marimba
Bass Guitar
Drum set
If I ever got fancy and released the piece with program notes, it would probably go like this:
"May" is a piece I'm not sure I really wrote. This was my final project for Music Theory III, and it uses multiple techniques I was shown in the class, mostly different modal mixture chords to add color. I think this focus on color and brightness led to a feeling of summer, and my favorite month, May.
I came up with the main theme quickly, but it has always sounded familiar. I may have subconsciously taken inspiration from video game music, like the Wii Sports theme, or "Turnabout Sisters" from the Ace Attorn...
