Добавлен 18 май 2020
Sanborn Mills Farm is a craft education center and traditional working farm in Loudon, New Hampshire.
Threshing Demonstration
"A threshing machine or a thresher is a piece of farm equipment that separates grain seed from the stalks and husks. It does so by beating the plant to make the seeds fall out. Before such machines were developed, threshing was done by hand with flails: such hand threshing was very laborious and time-consuming, taking about one-quarter of agricultural labour by the 18th century."

You're so much better than all those veterans and everybody else making knives. Because you forge the whole knife. You rely on skill and actual forging while these other Smiths rely on forging a rough shape and then just cutting it into final shape. I always wanted to find someone who did it just like you do. It forge the knife, don't half-assed forge it and then just cut it. You might as well just buy a blank. Excellent work. Awesome! Awesome awesome!
That bolster fitting is absolutely maddening
Sorry to but it says a lot about the maker, not one comet answered. I understand that when there's a 1000 coments, but there's 11. He had 3 years to answer and can't be bothered.
the perfect shape of a Chef/Gyoto-Style Knife... perfect curves etc.. where can I buy it?
The reflection of light will always show how good or bad a hand-rubbed finish is.
Nice explanation of your processes. Thanks!
Nice technique. I will try to mimic you to the T. My sharpening skill not quite there yet. Thank you
where did you get those one sided box jaw tongs? thanks for a great series on a chef knife. used it to forge my first in 4 hours.
I stumbled on your video. Very nice explanation on your handle finishing. Beautiful knife. I do have a question. Would you ever use Food grade mineral oil as opposed to BLO. Curious. I restored a old Forgecraft knife with a new walnut handle and just wondering if you ever did.
great video, haven not even finished whole thing or the rest of the series, but this has been super informative as I start working on learning to make chef's knives. Will definitely be making continued reference to this as I move along
Hi Jordan, great tutorial on how to do a chefs knife. Each time i though: "I need to ask this or that", 5 seconds later you explained it. But could you please tell us how you made your soft backing attachment for your flat platten?
This is an amazing series Jordan. Thank you for making it
Nice comment about the files! It always kinda makes me cringe to watch people drag a file backwards or try to use it like a saw.
Excellent
You explain every step in detail, not just what you are doing but why. Hands down the best video ive ever found on bladesmithing. well done.
Well done informative video
Olá sou do Brazil , gostei muito do seu trabalho, pena que esta em inglês se o RUclips traduzir seria muito relevante pro conhecimento
I enjoy the authenticity of your videos. If you ever have any questions about this hobby and would like a second opinion, send me a line.
Thanks for the very instructive video. In all modesty, I recommend that you turn up your bucket of water. Your back will thank you.

Mark the platen you made is it a regular flat platen with a scotch brite belt for the backer?

i didnt catch anywhere what material you used? thanks
Good work ! What material did you use to make the soft platen ?
Did you say you started your bevels at 36grit or was it 60grit?
start low and work your belts too higher grits each time
Very enjoyable to watch. Lots of good information in this video.
Really nice video, really enjoy how you show the techniques you use and explain and show how they work, I just started making knives by stock removal and this helps a lot especially as I just got my 2x72 grinder and still learning to grind bevels in knives.
