I totally agree! KW has turned this whole non-injury report crap into a media circus since last year and now I don't believe going forward it will benefit him or the team in helping them win games. To me, after the Arizona loss I don't think he can use it as leverage against every opponent as those teams will exploit Utah's other vulnerabilities outside the inexperienced QB and if he can't counter or make necessary adjustments, KW will lose badly.

Cam is going to come back. That's all there is to it. No need to be mad. It's football.

Cody is listed at 6’8”, he does have a slender frame but I do think his length plays huge part to being able to guard larger players. Your starting 5 seems to be holding through pre-season, except we’ve seen Walker get a couple starts. Thanks for watching and go Jazz!

@dnasportsrecap here is something I had put together on a different page. I try to never let the highs get too high or the lows get too low. The first 3 Arizona games were very uneven and underwhelming, culminating in the KState debacle heading into the bye week before the Utah game. My post-mortem of the Utah game from an Arizona perspective: 1. I was expecting Utah to exact their revenge for last year's loss. Our offense was in disarray. The OL had been playing very poorly. The DL was undisciplined as we were gashed by Avery Johnson. We have had trouble with very mobile QBs. The bye week came at the perfect time to get healthy and retool. 2. We inserted some new players and reworked some combinations on the DL. I hadn't seen so much stunting and we blitzed with conviction that wasn't there in the first 3 games. I was completely surprised that we got as much pressure as we did on Wilson. When we didn't sack him, we hurried him. And where normally we would get dominated and bullied in the run game, we held up especially on those 4th downs. 3. We inserted some new guys onto the O line. Doost is the strongest guy on the team, but was miscast by Jedd's tenure as a tackle. He was inserted at guard for this game and that stablized the line. We got some huge holes in the run game. Two other guys who were very much hobbled both against NAU and KSU were finally at full strength. The line played cohesive, more reminiscent of last year than the first 3 games. 4. I was very surprised that we gave up 0 sacks in Sack Lake City. Much of that is Fifita being smart with the ball with quick releases and safe throw aways. He has great pocket presence to avoid guys that come through unchecked. 5. We actually see it as a positive that we could win on the road at Utah with TMAC only getting 50-60 yards. Through 3 games, there was too much reliance on Fifita -> TMAC. 6. All through camp, it was said that #88 Keyan Burnett has NFL talent. He was dominating in camp but disappeared from the game plan all together. There was much talk through the bye week on putting an emphasis in distributing the ball more and specifically getting Burnett the ball. You can see that on the first play of the game putting him in motion. 7. HUGELY IMPORTANT - It turns out that Brent Brennan secretly replaced offensive play calling ... moving away from Dino Babers to Matt Adkins. With Babers, our offense was muddled. Slow developing run plays that were easy to read. Concepts were just not creative. This offense was a breath of fresh air and more in line with last year, though still a work in progress. 8. I think the final stats were more indicative of the type of game it was. After we scored to extend the lead back to 13, we went way conservative trying to chew clock. A couple of decent runs, but overall, we were very predictable, and the results showed. We're not good enough to run when run is expected against a strong run D, but they didn't want to risk any free clock stoppages, so that also limited Fifita / TMAC stats. The D was playing well, so I can see why they went the conservative route. Like I said, the bye week could not come at a more perfect time for us on the heels of KState debacle. That was a wakeup call and we had time to wake up. Much credit to Brennan for addressing all of the deficiencies and restoring some faith. There was much talk that we were wasting our generational talent. Guys like Fifita/TMAC don't come along too often at the UofA. Not bragging or gloating. More relieved than anything. Just trying to put into perspective first impressions from the KState game through the transformation of what we saw against Utah. There's no telling if the changes stick, but the UofA is on a much better trajectory. We actually were very competitive in the trenches. Our secondary will always be strong with Akina at the helm. Hopefully with better distribution and improved run game, it'll be more difficult to key on TMAC.

@@dnasportsrecap I stated that if you watched the K-State game with AZ, the opening drive for AZ was textbook. Next Five AZ drives were stopped by mysterious holdings penalties called by the refs. Not 1 foul was called on K-State ( Welcome to Big 12 conference) AZ still was going into the half tied ud not for a. Interception of fafita in the J State end zone. 2 ND half AZ finished where they were supposed to. Game looked a might fishy! Cats had a bye week and were laying in the weeds. Line moved from 11 down to 8 vs Utah. Wake up AZ has players.

Fair point for sure. But I could argue that Green had 19 total bases to Ohtani’s 17 and 1 of Ohtani’s (3) HRs came off a position player. I’m not saying that Ohtani’s wasn’t the greatest. I was conveying the point that context matters. Thanks for watching

You can add 2 sb to 17 total bases to make it 19 total bases somewhat. But the double digit RBI is the difference maker. BTW. Lost in all this is that Shoheu broke Shawn Green HR the same game. The Irony.

Agreed! The point Darrin was making was that out of context, his 6-6 wasn’t even the best for a Dodger, just looking at that game Shawn Green’s was better, but in context there was none better than Ohtani’s performance. Agreed that the 3rd hr shouldn’t be dismissed cause he had to drive the score up (10 rbi) to get that pitcher in there. Thanks for watching

@@dnasportsrecap Ty as well I enjoyed the segment but whenever someone mentions the 3rd as being off a position player I just have to say something. Also, more context as to why that hr was greater than it initailly appears. Ohtani was the only batter to get a hr off that position player. He’s was on deck by the time they got that 3rd out. GOAT!!

With you there. When a guy has that many RBI in a game himself, he’s the reason there is a position player pitching in the first place for sure.
