Unforgettable Desert Light – Photography and a Night in Valley of the Gods
This time around we're going on an unforgettable journey through scenic Valley of the Gods, one of the most stunning landscapes in the desert Southwest (the list is quite extensive, I don't have a hard copy. You'll have to get one from somebody else). This was a great follow up to Great Sand Dunes National Park. Even the scenic drive through Colorado to this area was a real treat!
In this video we'll explore the area and I'll do my best to capture what's truly a breathtaking location through an ever changing lighting environment. It's truly a nature and landscape photography paradise! There will be a good number of panoramas and a bit of astrophotography in this one. Did I mention we have...

Duned to Repeat | Capturing Epic Landscapes & Camping at Great Sand Dunes National Park

So, I went to the desert again. Can't help it. It's neat. This is the start of yet another trip out there with the first stop, Great Sand Dunes National Park! Still crazy to me that this place is in Colorado. I pretty much always associate the state mountains and skiing mentally - turns out they have nice deserty spots too. I'll show you some view along the way into the park from Denver. We'll ...

"Deserted Dunes Welcome Weary Feet" This is the last episode in the retrospective series. But don't be sad, there's more to come on the horizon. In this one, yes, we're still in Death Valley! We make our way to what honestly is probably one of my favorite days taking photos I've ever had - at mesquite flat dunes. So, so, so incredible being out there. I'm not sure it gets much cooler than a hug...
Dreamy Facades, Serenity Exposed | Photography at Playland Park in New York

Crazy weather this summer. The other week I went to Playland Park in Westchester County, New York to take some photos of the scenery. Not all here is as it would seem. I did this shoot more or less on a whim after being cooped up inside during a heatwave for the bulk of the day. This shoot was more or less a trial for me. I wanted to do two things - challenge myself from a video perspective wit...

In continuation of the Desert Southwest trip, this time around we're waking up EARLY to do some photography in Death Valley National Park. Mornings, more like mournings? Ehh, EHHH? The day starts at Dante's View continuing on to Zabriskie Point followed by a hike at Golden Canyon. Mid-day meander around Devil's Golfcourse (after getting a little hangry around Artist's Drive) before going to Bad...

Mannnnn oh man! This summer has been a wild one. Still a number of little things I've been wanting to do, but weekends have really been something to be relished coming out of a work week. Still wanted to put something out, so I pulled together this trip retrospective from going out to the desert Southwest back in January. We went to Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada before making our way over...
Landscape Photography | Cascades of New Hampshire in the White Mountain National Forest

Welcome back! This time around we're going up into the White Mountain National Forest area of New Hampshire to do some photography. Specifically, we're visiting Diana's Baths. I had a lot of fun revisiting this spot since it's been 12 years since I was last here. Really beautiful water flows, cascades, and pools along the Lucy Brook through masses of granite. They don't call it the granite stat...

Welcome to New Hampshire! So, here we make a go of it - landscape photography from a kayak, good idea, or not? Did I mention it's about to rain? Come along as we explore the beautiful lakes region and take a few photos. One way or another, a good time is on the agenda. Next video will be in White Mountain National Forest photographing Diana's Baths near North Conway, New Hampshire. Check out my...
Breathtaking Coastal Landscapes | A Day of Photography in Acadia National Park

Nearly recovered from some late nights out in the National Park chasing Aurora, it was time to get some photos during the day. This shoot took me around the Park Loop Road of Acadia before revisiting Jordan Pond during the day time. Then I went over to Schoodic Point before visiting Winter Harbor. Another delightful day of landscape photography at a National Park. Always a joy to be able to vis...

Yipes! Something about thrilling astronomical events this year. This video is an overview of the May 2024 geomagnetic storm event, what causes aurora, and photographing them at Acadia National Park in Maine. Primary photography locations include Jordan Pond and a vista near Eagle Lake. Landscape photography with the Northern Lights, baybeeee! Next video is going to be continuing with my adventu...
Landscape Photography | Shooting at a Dam, 10-stop filter wide-angle and telephoto

Back at it again! After last week I wanted to get a bit more work in with the ND filter, which meant seeking some moving water. Well, look at it, it's moving! Really nice for long exposure landscapes. This dam and spillway is the Croton Dam, and is part of the New York City water supply system. Construction began on it in 1892 and completed in 1906 - it looks the part. For a piece of critical i...

Howdy! This week we're doing some photography on the Long Island Sound with a Hoya PROND 1000 neutral density p̶a̶l̶a̶n̶t̶i̶r̶ filter with a 16-35mm lens. This filter provides 10-stops of light loss. Later in the shoot, we go to a bamboo grove and focus in on using a 14mm prime lens. Overall, I had a lot of fun with this shoot and pulling it together (memes included)! There's an interesting bal...
