Y'know the theme of change in Korra seems to be a subtle continuation of the tie-in comics. I like to note the comic 'The Rift' and 'Imbalence'. To note, Aang encounters a spirit who tells of Humans ability to create and preserve. As for the memo here, I see your point and I do find your truth in the anecdotes and analysis. I'm on the autistic spectrum myself, and on first viewing, it would indeed seem like she has autism, but looking at it deeper, these character traits fit more with her past as a soldier. My dad coincidentally served our military in Iraq and Afghanistan and has seen people undergo fates similar to Violet's. It's pretty common for war veterans to end up with a lack of empathy and even suicidal thoughts regarding their past actions. I also sae a veteran's reaction to Violet Evergarden here on RUclips and he could relate to her on a personal level. Even then, other common traits for people with autism, like being sensitive to sensory overload, slower processing of information and having difficulty dealing with unexpected changes, which Violet doesn't display. So it would be easy for one to assume Violet is autistic, but these traits coming forth from her past in a warzone does make more sense.

People often parrot that Aang was a human that learned to be the avatar, while Korra was an avatar that learned to be human. It makes me wonder if these people are aware that being human is actually essential to being a functional avatar. Yangchen once said that the avatar needs to experience humanity for itself in order to understand how precious it is. And since the avatar is suppose to be a bridge between the human and spirit world, and is essentially part human and spirit itself, that kinda makes sense to me. Korra already seemed plenty human to me. She just needed to accept that part of herself despite how powerful she was. She kinda points this out when she mentions that she and Kuvira are alike.

I’m sorry, but the way Kuvira decided to stand down after everything we’ve seen from her up to that point was way too fast and not very convincing to me. Her whole thing was that she wanted to undermine figures like Suyin and Wu and take their place because she thought they weren’t fit to run things as the earth kingdom started going to shit. But now she’s gonna surrender everything to the people she thought couldn’t be counted on because of a quick heart to heart with someone who claims she also knows what it’s like to be helpless and not in control? Remember, Kuvira couldn’t have known that Wu would dissolve the earth monarchy. No one did.

First of all, your English is good. Then back onto the video, I think if the writers want to portray Kuvira as shadow version of Korra(literally what the creators said), they did not draw the parellel between them well enough. They should've explore more of Kuvira dealing with abandonment and possible PTSD after three years of fighting(to stabilize the Earth Kingdom).

I thank you for this video. Entertainment is a strong medium and it allows us to see ourselves for better understanding of what makes us human. I had a similar event in my life in which a teacher ridiculed me in front of the whole class. It’s been years but I still remember how I felt and still hear his voice. It broke me but I told myself he didn’t know me to judge me. Long story short I felt like I was strong enough but what if someone believe the lies told to them. It haunted me for a while and I might have seen mentally strong but I was emotionally vulnerable until I broke. I did believe him I did feel I wasn’t good enough as a human and still struggle with this. I have no shame in saying LOK changed me. Korra alone is still one of my favorite episodes of all time. Thanks for the video and keep on inspiring!

Wow, the last part of the final thoughts is special. I never heard such vulnerable information about people who were "higher in hierarchy" like teachers, counselors or my parents. Thank you for the video, some things fell into place in my head. Also, Avatar is my favorite tv show. It is probably the only "spiritual" show my atheism/science oriented social network enjoys watching together with dreamy little me
