It's a quick and easy task to tackle.
I've seen many videos but not on the 2002 and no matter if you are doing the rear calipers or the front it's the same process. Hope this video helps you rebuild the pistons on your bike and I am glad I can help out fellow riders.

Thanks, I also have a 2002 VTX 1800S. It's running good but this video helps me understand what I will need to do if I have to replace my fuel pump. I think using non-ethanol gas will prolong the life of your fuel pump.

For what bike? Because I'm looking to replace it for my 2002 honda vtx1800 and would appreciate the part number
@@CarlosGarcia-cq8cd It was done on the 2002 but it works on any vtx year. If your removing to get a key cut then you do not need the part #. If replacing entirely you'll have to look up info online with make model yr. Hope this helps

Where can I find a replacement?
Motosport.com carries OEM parts just type in your make, model & year and it should pop up.
What was the reason to change the ignition? On my VTX, when I turn the key, it takes a long time for the lights to go on and I can start the engine. Could switching the ignition solve this problem?
I removed the ignition because I misplaced the only key I had and needed a copy. Have you checked all your fuses??
Not yet, but I think they should be ok. When I turn on the ignition, sometimes it takes over one minute before I can start the engine and then everything works fine. Sometimes everythings works right away.

Question? I’ve ordered a new switch but it came with 5 wires but mine has 4 like yours . Any idea why the new ones have 5 and not the same connected
I am not sure why it has 5 wires, I never had to change mine out. Was it OEM or a knock off??
because they are not oem and i have not found how to hook it up...just ordered a used one cus the new ones are 200+ for oem vs 50 or less for the 4 plug mystery how to connect bs ones.

got a question? I ordered from amazon but, it cam with other filters except the one I think I need. Can I use other filters?
It has to fit into the rubber unit and the fuel return filter. Inspect your filter if it's still in good shape use it. Or, if you can get a part number on that filter type it in to the search see what pops up.
@@lamostra6447 can i clean it with Viniger you think. it's been setting for 3 years that is why i was trying to replace everything, i'm also trying to clean out the gas tank.

Your welcome. Honestly depending on what state you live at prices vary. Took the ignition to the key shop & payed $20 for a new cut key. Then made extra copies at Ace hardware after that.

My bike consumes 16 mpg. Could it be the fuel pump? Gasoline smells a lot
Guillermo I rebuilt my fuel pump because it wasn't priming and the bike had been sitting for years. Tap into Facebook Honda Vtx groups the help from fellow Vtx owners is awesome.
You probably need to replace the fuel pressure regulator. That is a common problem with vtx 1800s as they age. Do a search on the box cafe and vtxoa forums and you will find lots of info regarding this.

@@Murtuzakachglad I can help. The ignition switch once you pull it out just take it to any key shop of your choice and they will make you a copy
@@lamostra6447 my keyhole was drilled in and rendered unusable.
@@Murtuzakach you can shop online thru any (partzilla, motosport etc) with your designated vtx information and the proper part number will come up.
My friend brought his 2003 to me to repair with fuel issues. What exactly were the issues that you were having with your bike?
First diagnose the bike. My fuel pump wasn't priming. did some testing before diagnosing the fuel pump. You should be able to hear it prime. when I opened up the tank I replaced all items listed in the description section of this video.
@@lamostra6447 If you do not hear the pump immediately when you turn key - you may have a dead pump and won't get it started. It is amazing how much gunk that can be in a tank! Removing tank is the tough part.
I think ln later model VTX 1800, the fuel pump is not attached to the tank but lies below the tank near the rear wheel.
