MSC Mill Converted to Centroid Acorn Controlled CNC - Rigid Tapping
Просмотров 5 тыс.2 года назад
This is a simple part on the MSC mill that I recently converted to a CNC. This video is only meant to show the CNC in action to potential buyers, and show the probing, tool setter, rigid tapping, etc. I am by no means an expert, I'm just figuring out the machining part as I go... All of the ball screws and servos are brand new. The machine is older, but it also has a brand new 2HP Siemens inver...

This is an animation of the rubber band powered pistol I designed for the Desktop Warfare competition at Type A Machines using their 3D Printer that shows how it is assembled, not including the springs and rubber bands.
3D Printed Rubber Band Powered Gun

This is a rubber band powered gun I designed and printed for a Desktop Warfare contest at Type A Machines. It is powered by a total of 7 rubber bands, uses 5 springs out of ball point pens, and fires the ball point portion of the ink pen. The idea is to make use of your old ball point pens when they run out of ink.

Rough prototype for my fire extinguisher mounting bracket. There is a 2nd reversion of this clamp that can now be seen here: ruclips.net/video/VmFAHFaJETw/видео.html www.Center-Axis.com
This is a great setup! Any chance you could show pictures of the z axis in more detail? Also did you change out the motor to a 3 phase? Thanks.
Sorry, I sold the machine a few months ago so I can’t provide any additional pictures. I did change out the motor to a 3 phase Siemens inverter rated motor.
What is the reference of the tool with which you determine the part zeros?
How did you set the encoder up as far that pulley ratio not being 1 to1 ? I am trying to set my spindle encoder up but looks like it either needs to be a 1-1 ratio on the pulleys or have some setting but i cant find a setting for that in cnc12.
All you need to do is calculate the ratio of spindle revolutions per encoder revolutions, then multiply that ratio times your encoder counts per revolution. The setting is in the setup wizard, not inside of CNC12.
How do you convert your machine to cnc I would like to know more details about your machine Thank You
How can I see more of this mill. I like what you did with the Z axis ball screw. maybe you can send me some pictures. I was thinking about doing the same thing myself.
I can send you some pics, or maybe some CAD files if you would like. I’m just not sure when I’ll have a chance to get it all organized for you. I ordered the belts and sprockets from Misumi.
I have the same turbo it's actually too big, unless you have a half bridge port or more. Don't get me wrong it's makes good power but way too much lag a slightly smaller turbo is much better choice for stock or street port.
where are they for sale ?? Thanks
like the detail man nice work
Hey man how much did it cost to U to revive the car? I'm planning on doing this too, just wanna know what I'm in for
Awesome build! Where are the new wheels?
nice video. id change the wheels though to some nice JDM aftermarkets :)
Nothing like a boosted street port rotary shooting flames every shift.
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Mazda RX-7. What a great combo. :)
whats this song
+tayla gibbon Little Wing from Stevie Ray Vaughan
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where can I download the stl files?
What exhaust you used on your car? Sounds great to me.
Wait sorry I'm noob but was it supposed to sound like that? The idle sounded like it was quickly going up and down and why did it turn off so suddenly? Thanks
and then he sold it for a tenth of the price and the new guy bought a set of rims with mass offset and small carbon mirrors and it was mint.. the end
I'm a little late watching this, but an amazing build none the less!
Wow
Yeah, have you got any STL files, please? Would be awesome to make one myself...
Love the idea stock on the outside
Very very very good work! Well done beautiful FD n really nice Jimi's music.
Nothing but quality work :-)
Well dont looks great! :D
Wow great job
Quick Release Extinguisher Mount
How much did all the modifications cost? I'm poor too so I feel your pain.
We're just about ready to start production for the clamp which has evolved into a much more robust mount than the one in the video. Check out the link I updated in the description for more information and to see pics and video of the new clamp.

Originally by Jimi Hendrix...same title.
you my friend have no clue how heart warming that was :O congrats!
oh lol yea i thought it was an afc hahaha i was like is this guy smoking meth but it was my fault wasnt paying attention
AFC? I didn't mention afc anywhere as far as I know. Do you mean AVC-R, my boost controller?
a power fc and afc??? am i missing something here?
Yar I agree, if you ever look under the UIM (upper intake manifold) of a stock FD you will see a maze of hoses and solenoids, check-valves etc.. It's very complex and prone to problems due to heat from the rotary. If it works it's fantastic but often it's a pain in the ass to troubleshoot. Stock twins can make good power if they are modified but they also don't have an ideal manifold set up and retain lots of heat. Going single simplifies the engine bay but causes more spool time lag.
There's nothing stock about my suspension in any way really. Solid bushings, M2 toe links, M2 trailing arms, & apexi adjustable coilovers. I guess my sway bars are still stock though.
after all that..... Stock suspension? damn
nice engine man how do you carbon wrap that stuff so well?
Little Wing by Stevie Ray Vaughan - There's a link to it right under the video if you're looking to buy it.
man !!! j love the music !! what song is it ??
It took about 2 years to get it to what you see in the video. Still tons more to do though if you know what I mean. Project cars are never done...
How long did your build take? I am in my second year with similar fuel setup but I am using stage3 bnr turbos both come on around 3500.
The stock twins are only good for roughly 320 rwhp. I'm sure some will debate that number, but irregardless, I wanted to get into the 400's and the stock twins just can't do it. Not to mention that it greatly simplifies things under the hood for more reliability. The rats nest of vacuum lines and solenoids involved to make them operate can be a real headache to troubleshoot.
Whats the positive from changing from twin turbo to single turbo im just wondering??
ooooooh my, you are a master mechanic..... when I get a little older i wanna be able to do that crazy technical work like you do, nice 7
nice work...really nice on ur dashes too...
thumbs up for keeping it rotary...
This is gonna be awesome once you get it perfected! Nice work!!!
