Great tutorial! What if "colorname" is not listed as a variation? Is there a way to "force" that variation. It seems odd that ASC does not have "Color" as a default variation across all categories.

This video is very nearly helpful. Missing a few big points. If anyone is there, would love clarification, since the Amz Helpdesk are super SUPER unhelpful. 1. I have four existing products. I want to make 1 the parent, the other 3 style variations. 2. My starting point is the same message as the beginning of this video "Variation unavailable". However, I know it is possible because other brands have managed it using the same product type. 3. If I start from "Add new Product", I can see the variation is possible. 4. However, mine are not new products. They are pre-existing. If I add a new product and use the existing ASINs, surely that's going to duplicate the products and cause chaos. What do I do?

Hi there - I've followed this and populated all the information - but it won't save! Any idea what to do?!

Great tutorial but this does not seem to work any longer. "You are currently viewing a new version of the Add a Product tool, with updated product information requirements." Now they require the External Product ID to do this or A GTIN exemption is required.

In the first example "Variations are not available for this category" was shown when selecting the variation tab and in the second it was not. Can you explain why? this is where i am running into wall.

I want to add variations as Set of 2 Set of 3 etc. What do I need to choose in variation then?

Thanks for the video but this didn't work for me. All it did was create a new standalone listing. But neither the new listing, nor the original listing (whose SKU and ASIN I copied and pasted as a variation,) show variation options on the listing. And they are not shown as variations on my inventory page.
