Is Bear Creek Arsenal garbage? Did they finally fix their .410 upper? @Bear_Creek_Arsenal
This is my THIRD .410 upper from @Bear_Creek_Arsenal. The first 2 did not chamber or work and were returning using their warranty. Did they fix the issue on the third try?
Take a watch and find out if you think it’s worth spending your money at Bear Creek Arsenal. Their customer service is on point and they gave me 0 issues when it came to returning my upper for replacement and repair. This 3rd one was a “repair” but I believe it was a replacement. @Bear_Creek_Arsenal makes everything in house but for this upper specifically, I was told that BCA was waiting on a part to be received before they could finish the remaining returns.
The machine work on this upper is much nicer than the first...

    BCA is garbage - at least their rifles are. If you disagree & want to keep your rosy opinion of them, DON"T DO THIS: put 1 round in the mag, chamber it, expell it, then examine the damage done to the projectile. (I first STRONGLY recommend removing the firing pin) Trust me, after you see how badly scratched/gouged it is, you'll want to toss it & return your rifle. Most might think it's feed-ramp. Nope - it's the throat (freebore). Can you call it the throat if the rifling extends all the way back to the 2nd neck?

      I have to make a new video, they feed and function fine. I would agree that the compliant devices are not milspec but they also don’t affect the chambering of the round. They work perfectly fine with 9mm, 223, 300 blackout, and 308 (in my ar10). I think it has more do to with the cartridge itself not being compatible with the AR platform. I don’t think I would ever buy any other BCA upper for a few reasons. 1 being the shoddy experience I had from this one, and secondly, I’ve assembled like 7 of my uppers and only purchased 2. I tried virtually every 2 1/2” slug on the market and got the best results with Herters/Winchester 1/5oz slugs shooting through an Improved Modified choke. Sub 2” groups @ 35 yards - not too bad (with iron sights). However, finding reliable mags is a nightmare - forget anything but 5 round Aksa or similar mags. I have had pretty much every one of these... I rebuilt the gas system and made a superior firing pin for the gen2 IFC upper and got it running excellent WITH specific ammo and magazines.** Without modifications, the most recent upper from ATI with very adjustable gas system is very functional with several different loadings, but not with ATI magazines. The IFC magazines don't easily rim-lock, and ATI magazines are extremely difficult to KEEP from rim-lock. Having tested every available 410 2-1/2 that will fit in a 410 conversion magazine, the ones that work great to perfect in my AR based 410's, are... Remington STS/or Nitro sporting clays. Hornady Triple Defense. Sometimes others will work ok, but can't handle a 15 round mag dump like the ones listed above. I have only found IFC magazines (10 or 15) to be reliable in my 410 AR conversions.

      @gunsforevery1 8 месяцев назад

      Please continue to reply on the same thread. What is the definition of a striker and of a firing pin? Again, a striker is powered by a spring and released by a sear. A firing pin is struck by a hammer. Im telling you what the definition is. The mosin nagant does not have a hammer. The striker is held by a sear. The sear is dropped releasing the striker allowing it to go forward under spring pressure. Like you said in your previous comment, “it’s not a Glock”. It has a similar function to a Glock minus the sear cocking the striker. The striker is in its channel. The sear, attached to the trigger pulls the striker back. At a certain point the sear will begin to move downwards (like a rifle does when you pull a trigger) allowing the striker go forward under spring pressure.

    • @gunsforevery1
      @gunsforevery1 8 месяцев назад

      A large part of learning doing a little research for yourself. Looking at a picture isn’t research. Start off by defining, even if it’s just your own definition. What is a striker? What is a firing pin? You obviously know there is a difference between the two, so please start by defining what those differences are before you start telling me that I am wrong because a picture says so.

  • @pauldonner9707

      You don’t know the definition of either do you? A firing pin is struck by a hammer. A striker is released by a sear. An AR15 has a firing pin. An AK has a firing pin. An M1 garand has a firing Pin. A Mosin has a striker. A K98k has a striker. A Lee Enfield has a striker.
