I went to Watford and bought one from Vago forty years ago. Several bits were missing from the kit. The feathering spindle was only threaded at one end. When I sent it to them to tap it they couldn't even be bothered to remove thick grease off it before returning. There were cotter pins and spring clips the like of which would never have been found on a Japanese kit. The plastic moldings were chunky with the flash still requiring trimming off. The Heim pipe (which was 65 quid, a lot of money then) was cheap and nasty quality. The tail rotor gearbox just attached crudely to a plywood plate with no covering. The undercarriage was ugly and crude. And to cap it all it was the worst flying heli I ever owned. A friend at the time warned me not to buy one. I should have listened to him and stuck with the much better Hirobo, Kalt, and Schluter kits. An absolutely DREADFUL model.

Excellent flying skills-impressively smooth, nice and easy does it, just like driving in a Minnesota blizzard. I saw a different video of this same model I believe and it did not have a happy ending.

Great hybrid model. I have converted an original heli baby to electric but I find it quite a handful! Has this hirobo been converted to CCPM using the original swash plate with the servos embedded in the canopy plywood back as per the original heli baby? Your help greatly appreciated.

I have a red Champion that is flyable. It has a modern radio in it though. I had a Cricket in '82 and a Champion in '85. Flew in Torrance California at the time, next to Ashton Tate software. Shopped at The Rotary Wing in Lomita. Thank you for the video. I'm not flying mine anymore, even a small crash could be impossible to find parts for.
