Can’t wait to come back and see the upgraded center. Hope more funding goes to this park so research can be done on all the mounds before damage is done to anything. Honestly all our state and national parks could use modernization. Sad that we have ignored our heritage sites for 40-50+ years and not brought them up to par to what society would utilize. Thanks for sharing!

Constructive Criticism. Spruce this page up. I could not even find the official Cahokia mounds museum Society. Being that my families, families, families have lived here until the lovely religious folks jamming the cross down everyone's throat's, burned all documents, anything religious, sold our really young daughters, my 5th gmaw none as Madame Dolorion but she has numerous names. Believe it or not her name is Holy Rainbow. Holy Rainbow and Madame Dolorion (some docs found on the Old Saint Genevieve Church website)are the same due to marriage. I actually have very old images and journals with drawings of maps passed down from my family where she ended up living on and around Kaskaskia Island for a very long time. We have about 10 boxes full of documents, artifacts handed down the family line. Only if this region really new what happened before, only if they didn't F IT all up, during and after and still are. Were still here, we learned our lesson to not let anyone from the Midwest handle artifacts anymore. Real eyes Realize Real LIES. You guys are just scratching the surface, the latest surface that is. The storyline is so dark, I do have alot of artifacts. I actually have 3 tiny little Sumerian look alike molds, massive bulging eyes and odd clothes, stance is the same too. There is some sort of writing around them which are just arrows and lines. These people are drawn around Kinkaid lake on a hand drawn map of southern Illinois, along with piney creek

What is with the reed huts? To me it is obvious that the Welsh brought over the 'Mound' hibernation building style. (These are all over Ireland and Wales to this day). They had just experienced a cataclysmic 'wipe-out' via a Comet all over Europe toward Bolivia. Prince Madoc was swept uncontrollably to the New Land. He returned 10 years later with a Dark-Haired son. His Father, King Arthur 11 sent a scout group and they came back with the navigation to the New Land as correct. So King Arthur went with his Son Prince Maddock and hundreds of ships. King Arthur was killed savagely and was wrapped up and transported back to the homeland. These were the 'Mound builders'. In my mind the soil is brought up from very deep to the surface. These people were into trading metallurgy also as well as bringing domesticated animals and grains. The lighting methods may be reflective or 'Lime-light'. America has lime bedrock. The buildings for sure are deep and tunneled. ruclips.net/video/zBbWL3VWVxM/видео.html&feature=emb_logo King Arthur II & Prince Madoc's voyage to America in AD 562 Sep 2, 2013 ruclips.net/video/8GOcttn4VwE/видео.html&feature=emb_logo Alan Wilson Historian - The Hidden History of Britain Sep 1, 2013 RealBritishHistory mikephilbin.blogspot.com/2016/05/ancient-british-kings-1500-bc-to-600-ad.html MIKE PHILBIN'S FREE PLANET BLOG this is the blog of writer/artist Mike Phibin ancient ancestors May 11, 2016 ANCIENT BRITISH KINGS - 1,500 BC TO 600 AD - THE KHUMRY Hebrew Nations website has covered their claims in great (sceptical) detatil and the Sovereign Wales website has probably the most concise re-imagining of Wilson & Blackett's historical British timeline, it's really fascinating stuff if you've never seen it before. Even the BBC reported that the DNA of the Welsh suggests that they are much older and more distinct from the majority of Brits. And we've all wondered at Tom Jones' curly hair and dark complexion... Wilson & Blackett also make the grander-scale claim that, "The Welsh aren't (nor were they ever, mainland European i.e.) Celtic," they are Khumric - a people of the (mediterranean) sea. Did these trader-invaders speak Aramaic? Phonecian? Pelasgic? What did the Khumric language even sound like and why does Welsh have such linguistic affinity with Hebrew ALPH

One thing to remember is that the people of Cahokia were travelers and went up and down the rivers and between other moundbuilder cities. They spread out and I know people in Oklahoma and Mississippi who are Choctaw and Osage (besides the tribes you mentioned in the video) who have stories kept by their tribal nations regarding the times when they left Cahokia and carried the bones of their dead away with them. The prevalence of diseases like smallpox and tuberculosis introduced by European colonists and settlers from early days had a huge impact on the Native population and some of the history and stories were lost because many Native people had no immunity and they died. Also, the removal of Native tribes from Illinois to make way for the U.S. Homestead Acts and settlers also made a great impact on the Native tribes being disconnected from their ancestral lands and stories were very likely also lost because those people were trying to survive in new areas in what was then called Indian Territory and is now Oklahoma.

I haven't been to the mounds for several years, but last time I was there was a Pow-Wow!!! It was a wondrous weekend filled with dancing, drumming and so much more. I was lucky enough to meet one of the archaeologists who was on the team that found the tile that the mounds uses as their symbol. The only thing I did not get to see (hear?) was the story telling :-(. I climbed Monks Mound and saw 2 of the Native Americans from the pow wow. One was using a diving rod, and I saw it flip on one of the corners of the top mound! I am not sure, but from his bearing and dignity, I think he is an elder. If you have the slightest wish to re-visit history, you definitely need to go to Cahokia.
