past couple days have been good. Since fitting all that wood to the windows. Made a huge change to how she looks. I got that from the walls inside a mercedes lorry I bought. It was a removal lorry and had timber everywhere to tie stuff off from. Was going to burn it and then the idea of window cladding inside popped into my mind. All good.

Yeah thanks a lot. Funny how life works out. Bought this and put it on my father's farm in East Grinstead. Evil stepmom stopped me going there and so time passed. Heard dad had died couple years before and she had died. Only place being sold. It was hidden in woods. Load of water around and so it was covered in moss and full of spiders. Paid a heavy goods recovery firm to get it after mountains of bush cutting to get her out. Farm in Brighton £140 a month to store her there. Surrounded by horse boxes. 20 horse boxes every weekend. Loads of women. ha ha. The horsey kind though. Im empowered on it again. Feel new energy to go forwards. This time is better though. It's much more liveable how it is.

Fuel to old place and food say £20 a week. This place close but £40 a week. Still no evil step mum. No negative vibes. Work today was insane. I did loads. Have a 7.5 ton mercedes atego lorry kitted out for metal work in the back. Bringing that next week so I can machine the sofa bed inside. Yep the horses might not like me on a work bench outside. In the lorry should be sound. 😂😂😂

Thanks mate for trying. The first reel of filament was from my creality order just arrived. 1.75mm on ebay. It did the same in the creality cr10s pro v2 printer. Im thinking its got to be the new filament as after it printed fine with the gold.

@@jamesbarratt593 I used an undried aurapol and also yesterday it couldnt pull the filament out so I removed the ptfe from the extruder and then pulled it out

So you use more filament and buy from them

@@jamesbarratt593 doesn't matter if you use their filament or some other brand. You asked why, that's a potential reason, you'll need to check your slicer settings to see if it's that or something else. "Smooth" time-lapse moves the toolhead out of the way for a clear photo and therefore needs the prime tower to make sure the next layer starts clean again.

@@kdotaustralia i certainly never set that smooth time lapse you speak of. Whats the best way of fault finding stuff with these printers. I found you can go through the screen on the printer to raise a support request. Havent bothered but still. Just curious if theres a list of stuff and you click on then it tells you cause of that issue. What to do to fix it.

@@jamesbarratt593 have you spent much time looking and playing with the slicer and it's settings? Process>global>others>prime tower check box The printer will help out with what the faults are when it can but that's mainly maintenance or failures like spaghetti, first print layer, clogs and ams issues. Everything else is going to be based on spending the time to learn how the slicer works, what speeds and temps the different filaments you're working with require, trial and error with flushing ratios when working with multi material prints, and how much effort and thought was put into designing the parts you're printing. Even applying a brim and choosing the right face for print orientation goes a long way.

@@kdotaustralia i printed something in yellow. A phone case for my iphone 13 pro max. Printed fine and smooth. Same in blue. Then last colour magenta it was like rough as ever on both sides of the phone case. So same file but different quality

In the manual there's a manual cal which is the z adjustment

Some adjustments must have been made between yours and mine in the factory. Maybe the chip in the processor is different. Who knows. Check out my bolt video being uploaded in 5 mins to show you it printing great.

@@jamesbarratt593hey i don’t khow you but I feel compaction for you because I have the same printer in the past the creality cr10s pro v2 and I just buy a bambu lab x1 carbon I just revive it today and it’s really work GREATTTTT like ai was able to print difficult print so easy it’s a miracle so don’t give up on your bambu lab x1 carbon mine work really great like really maybe listen some video tutorial the creality cr10s pro v2 is a massive piece of shit I got so many issue with it and creality support is the worst in the word like the sonic pad have broke the printer and they don’t want to refund me (( btw NEVER BUY a creality sonic pad this is the worse decision you can make in a life )) so good luck with your x1 carbon this thing is incredible like a print a katana with it today like a retractable katana and it work PERFECTLY print the boat test to and turn on great too so good luck with your printer you gonna find the solution I’m sure listen some video tutorial sometimes it really can help good luck

@@4kcool172 i find the answer. Tell to printer to go back to factory settings and dont use the firmware update. My printer has printed 20 times fine now. And yes the creality cr10s pro v2 is a piece of shit. Cant start a print on it knowing the speed is 100mms. Cant bare to watch it. Then when it fails its even worse

I got an email today from bambu 3 weeks after sending them a complaint. Wow they slow. So yep my printer was shit. And no it was not about reading the manual. The machine I updated to latest firmware and when I reset it to factory settings instantly after it worked fine. Nothing to do with whether I have or have not read the manual

My printer is working fine now. What you must not do is update the firmware. And deselect the the page just before the printing starts the little box beside level table. 4 little boxes and one says level table. Turn it off. Then dont remove the base from the printer.

Thanks for the comment. I never saw the white one say support pla. Should it and all of them have a sticker in the middle of the roll saying what they are. I will take a look tomorrow. Any ideas on whats the underlying cause of my printers misbehaviour?

Well guess what. I reverted machine back to factory setting and the lidar message has gone so clearly it was a software hardware error rather than fact it needed cleaning. Then on your support pla theory. I have an ams right. Its loaded with 4 colours. Each real the ams knows exactly what colour is in that section. Auto loads it. Anyway, so I loaded black right to have the printer print the spartan model which came with the machine and which it failed because you think its the support pla’s fault. Ok get this. Soon as I press the model and say to print the machine gets the ams to reload the white support pla. It knows thats pla and its white. Does it know its support I dont know. I do know it only wants to print the models that came in the printer with it.

@@jamesbarratt593 did the filament you failed with work after the factory reset? Also pretty sure files built into the printer will only print from AMS slots 1 and 2 depending if it's multicolour or not. I'd probably try some prints from a device with bambu studio and see if that rectifies the issue but hard for me to diagnose without seeing what's going on.

@@jamesbarratt593 possible bad gcode from your print, or possible bad homing sensor in the bed. But the homing routine does touch the nozzle to the bed several times, that is normal.

@@ryantraxler3617 it can sit there for hour tapping. Will try cleaning the sensor underneath and try printing free models again but in green not the support pla. Never realised it was just for support. They should have it clearly labelled and the machine should not try to print the whole model with it if its bad to do so.

@@ryantraxler3617 found I can switch off the bed levelling. A tiny box with a tick in it. Thank god. So stupid to do bed levelling every single time. Im an auto electrician and engines have sensors right. Theres a signal wire coming back from then relaying the position inside. The engine ecu knows it instantly as soon as the ignition switched on. This machine simply needs servo motors so the brain knows exactly where the table is. Or worst case scenario a sensor on each corner of the table and as the table rises to max there job done in a millisecond. Bambu got bed levelling wrong.

Guess what. The button I was pressing is marked power. Thats the front left of the two buttons mounted on the top right corner. Its clearly using the power symbol and the screen turns off by time or by tapping it. So the button should be marked screen not power. The power switch you are referring to. What a stupid place to put it at the back right lower part of the unit. So when tight against the wall you cant reach it easily.

Thanks for posting a comment. Yep it behaved exceptionally badly yesterday. I was just finished with a new design on fusion of something and really wanted to see it before I had to leave for work. So disappointing to see for 2 hours the printer doing nothing useful. Tap Tap Tap Tap Tap. And what's further annoying and downright rude is the fact the firm clearly can't offer support. They dont contact you. That's breaking the law. You buy it and we give you support and warranty. In truth they dont. Im not seeing it anyway and its nearly a week since I sent them their first email to customer services.

It only wants to print on the white. It knows its support from the ams its in. Nether the less it always wants to use the support material

Reset to factory and all good. Dont remove the base. Turn base temp up to 42 and everything brilliant. Still no call from Bambu. You can forget the warranty they are poop

Never read that. On the side of it it says PLA nothing about support stuff

@@jamesbarratt593 Mine came with 250g of green PLA, 250G of white support for PLA and 250g of black PLA-CF. And that’s what I see in the Bambulab groups too. Sometimes green is interchanged with orange.

@@WouterZtube maybe it is white support as you say. Could that be why the models dont print that are in the machine and not because of the firmware update after all….. i have no idea

@@jamesbarratt593 if you follow the setup guide you have the white filament in slot 2. It won’t print models from the printer itself since these are sliced for PLA

Gotta presume the files were sliced for the X1 Carbon because they are loaded in the X1 Carbon. I did however update firmware straight away. Could that have done it?

@@sasquatchphil89 thanks for answering. So really I should do a video telling other newbies multiple failures at start doesn’t mean anything. Just dont use the prints from the machine.

@@sasquatchphil89 At the start to see that I was dishearten beyond belief. Also with their support form because it asked for 3mf file. Having had no knowledge of that and setup issues with fusion 360 I was like what? Can't they just have a hotline number. So until I had uploaded the 3mf file with the form it would not send. It was literally that I had previous experience with fusion and 3d printing that the penny dropped. I realised the issue was those files all on my lonesome. Still no support from X1 carbon. I sent a customer services email and they haven't replied too. So This firm boasting how good they are. They aint. Lets see how the next 10 prints go.

Turns out the 3d prints which come with the machine dont work on the machine after you install the updated firmware.

First tell me how profitable is selling parts online? Secondly I discovered something. It seems to be the prints that come with it. They are the reason it fails. When I used Fusion 360 and Bambu Studio after, it printed those no issues. I immediately updated the machine at start. Guess theres a compatibility issue when you do that with the models it has pre loaded within.

I am just a user not into all the settings and understand the technical side of it. I guess the machine is broken but how. I am not happy though

Got zero idea how you do that as its not clear on the website. What was clear is that theres gaps in their documentation. Also if you just try the presaved models in the printer none give you their file to upload to Bambu. The support page wont go forwards unless they get this file. Penny dropped I need to use their program on mac for that. Then realised their program doesnt make the file. That happens at design stage in another firms program called Fusion. Only they are messing me around a bit too. Hopefully by end of today John I will have the support file logged. Ultra terrible the machine doesnt work out the box

So far from top of im608 pro It has failed to read everything. The port on end apa103 i hsve soldered to cim unit and read data to add key.

@@jamesbarratt593 no, not for now as the cars it covers is not worth the extra $$ for me the autel im608 covers almost all that the tdb1000 covers plus a few more, and the ones autel does not cover I just don't do them for now because I don't have enough clients with cars that the tdb1000 covers that autel does not. So for me to buy the tdb1000 and software too is not cost effective for now. Maybe down the road as a backup or if autel craps out.

Without the ignition on the autel cant communicate because the computers are off. Not all I guess but ecm and most other modules are. I tried to communicate so I know. Twice unit not though as that reads the key.

@@jamesbarratt593 did you check the steering wheel is it locked or unlocked

@@jorgemat8080 i never did. If its unlocked what would you say considering the twice unit is unplugged and the battery disconnected?

@@jamesbarratt593 if it's unlocked it's no good and that's why you can't turn key. That locks as soon as you turn key off and also locks the ignition when you put key in it unlocks immediately and let's key turn. Also make sure the car battery is good a low car battery would make it act like that too.

Oh yes you need that twice unit plugged in to recognize the original key you can also check fuses to see if they are good.
