I just left Nursing at the age 60. Not worth the cons anymore! Heck our Chief Nursing Officer make almost 7 figures a year with bonuses of 6 figures. I see her twice a year. Once when JCAHO is inspecting and then in a yearly trading video. No thanks!

I’m in medicine as well. I won’t say where but, i would work 12 hr shifts, the next shift would not show up. I ended up working 24hrs. Unbelievably the next shift wouldn’t show so another 12 hr shift. Some worked days in a row. No set breaks IF we got one, no lunch or dinner due to demand. Driving home falling asleep. It’s bad for most health care workers. Good luck to you.

You may get more money but I sure hope your staffed properly. It's not all about money l not too long ago a nurse made a med error and a patient died. She worked In AN understaffed hospital and the end result is that she is in jail. The hospital should have shared in that error.

Sadly, the era of travel nurses came to a screeching halt with the ending of the COVID funding and now the US is trying to find ways to use robots/computers or bringing in FOREIGN nurses to do our jobs.

I work in a 3rd world country. To be a registered nurse is really difficult. And the hospital management, CEOs of the companies of the hospitals are also very obsessed with the money making and cutting nursing staff. The poor patients are exposed to incompetent nurses because , competent nurses are too expensive. The lower category nurses are performing totally out of their scope of their practice, skills and knowledge. Registered nurses resign. Many doctors are arrogant ( not all of them) and have a godlike complex. They treat patients like crap. Patients are vulnerable and helpless, we as nurses are advocates for them. The hospitals have so many SOP ( standard operational Protocols), of which we are to adhere to, but in the practical field it is impossible. We are barely keeping the patients alive. As shift leaders, we have to deal with so many risks because of incompetent nursing staff. The cultural difficulties are an immense problem. Strike (refusal to work) is an approved lawful practice. Nurses are attacked and kidnapped while using the only public transport which they have and these are the taxi transport. I can go on and on....nursing is definitely not what it was 40+ years ago.

I agree with her. I am also an emergency nurse. Very high pressure job. I care and want to help people and an advocate for my patients. I also thought of opening an opening a company. Where I can give optimal care. I am looking for a new place, for I am burnt out.

I considered to become nurse... but realized.. only reason why I would have done it is: 1. 99% guarantee a job and even if get kicked out.. wont be unemployed for long anyways 2. not sure how it is in other countries but here.. nurses have good wage so yea.. security but yes.. to be good nurse... you really have to love to be around with people, have empathy and sympathy for patients who are in difficult situation.. Im quite introvert and need my own space a lot.. patients can be in pain or dying.. idk if could handle to see people dying in front of me no matter how hard I tried to help them... and what I have seen and heard... nurses are treated like shit despite how challenging their job is.. it is underappreciated which is wrong also super toxic environments.. I have been in toxic working environment and it is SOUL CRUSHING!!!! so chose to chase my greatest dream what I had for 10 years: becoming 3d modeler .. creating environments slowly working my way to get hired and building connections into the industry

U.S. healthcare hospitals, nurses, admins, and doctors are ALL in it for the money. She's crying because of not enough money with a Chanel bag right behind her. Doctors literally charge $thousands for a couple of shots. YES, the hospitals are all about profit, so are the participants...

I’m tired of working 48-56 hours a week. I work on a dementia unit and unferstaffed. The NPs and MDs answer to pts becoming anxious is to throw seroquel or that other garbage drug Zyprexa. Hello….. there’s a medication out called Ativan, klonopin. I don’t want to hear any more about the pts will become addicted. Complete nonsense.

Why do traveling nurses get paid so much? Instead of paying the local nurses equally. I believe because these companies pay so much to travel nurses, including housing. I see them owned by greedy people that saw a way to screw the system.

Wow, no wonder care has been lowered extremely. I remember having my appendix removed, it also and broken open. The nurses were fantastic. They even all met me in a group as I left to cheer for me. This was years ago, and I have seen a big difference. Way understaffed and some really don't know what to to or operate the equipment.

Dear Christina, please tell me that someone told you how much you would earn before becoming a nurse. Please tell me that someone told you that others would make far more than you with less physical or mental effort. Life on this earth isn't fair but it can still be meaning-full. Please consider a mission trip to a far land. Perhaps it will help you remember why you became a nurse in the first place. It could also help you experience the joy of unselfishly helping others even under excruciating circumstances. Wish you the best in your new chapter.

I've been a pharmacy technician for a little over a year now. I basically got hired to replace the last guy who was burned out from the pandemic. It seems like us technicians are burning out faster than we can keep up. Every new batch of technicians is less skilled then the last and each leaving technician's shoes are too big too fill. I'm staying home from work today because my legs hurt; they are getting worse faster than they are getting better. I changed majors (pharmacy to engineering) because this isn't worth it. I dont want to get a PharmD just to have to stand up for 12 hours a day, type at a computer that's the wrong height for my stature, and not get a lunch break.

2:00 "they can't shut down a hospital cause they need to make money" wtf? Ma'am with all do respect its a hospital... Its there for medical emergencies and hospitalization. I've worked and still work in one as a housekeeper for the OR for 8 years.. What the hospitals need is more nurses and a positive mood shift between sraff. You can't treat your new resident nurse or new hire like shit and expect them to stay. And I havent seen your whole vid on this but I just wanted to make the part clear were hospitals are there to treat humans. We do need to Chang how everyone charges hospitals for supplies tho.. And pay employees who work in janitorial and food services better and not treat them like there dumb. And nursing and doctor staff.. Respect your colleges better and help and don't discriminate the students who are there to learn and don't be a dick. That way we can get more staff and be more of an efficient team! It's hard. I feel for this who have to do rotating 12's and have more than 8 patients a day but ive seen how students and new staff are treated between worm colleges and it's bullshit.

I always told my coworkers if the hospital doesn’t have the staff they do not need to be admitting more patients, they need to be rerouted. No one nurse should be caring 6,7,8,9,10 patients. I left the hospital as well. I hate the gaslight and their favorite line “do it for the patient”. F you!

Of course top level hospital execs make a lot more than nurses. It takes years of education and a specific skill set to run a hospital that 99.9% of people can’t do…it’s not realistic to expect a hospital to pay nurses the same as high level mangers.

Staffing still sucked, but it sucks everywhere so I might as well get paid top dollar. Since then I quit floor nursing and do home health. I care for 1 pt for 12 hrs. They get my undivided attention. There are still challenges, but staffing isn't 1 of them.
