Making Sakuga MADs at random
Shuu Sugita【杉田柊】Sakuga MAD

I discovered this song a couple days ago and was immediately compelled to do something with it. Sugita's career could be better represented by a longer MAD but the energy matched up quite well. His work for the Uma Musume movie is just otherworldly so that was another major motivator.
This isn't a particularly polished effort or anything, but I think I needed to make this so I could scratch the itch and go back to being productive. Once I have time, I plan to do an Egghead MAD before OP comes back as well as a Miwa MAD as soon as I finally track down the right song.

I seriously can't wait for Yaiba. 99.9 has had my heart in a chokehold since 2019, so I'm glad to finally be using it. Kameda seemed like the ideal match for obvious reasons but I wasn't able to include many of his best cuts due to the song's short runtime. Still, I had fun!

I've been planning to match it up with Taku Iwasaki's Wake Up Call for a few months because that soundtrack had an iron grip on my brain around when Shibuya was wrapping up. His recent stuff of the Uma Musume movie is insane! And while he didn’t do an action scene this year for MHA’s TV anime, the wavy hair and good drawings for All Might definitely helped elevate the scene in the anime. While he’s not necessarily one of my personal favorite animators, I’d be lying if I said he wasn’t one of the most skilled animators in the current industry. And also his work on One Piece 978 is especially nutty

Watching this, there are a lot of cuts I never knew were animated by him. I so often associate him with the intense brushwork effect you see in his cuts on stuff like One Punch S1 or FMA, but his style is a lot more versatile than just that. Good shit as always, nice vid dude.
