Nice
Anyone with no idea how to do the job can watch this and will then know exactly what to do and pass themselves off as professionals.
Unfortunately there's more to it then that.
Good job 👌
Lots of weight on Scaff
Rubbish work, strip out in a pyramid so you only got one slate strapped, also get rid of that toffee hammer you will brake slates, also don’t nail the lead both sides only one side or it will rip eventually! It can’t move,it’s good practice to number slates when stripping👊
And just seen on Ur rosemary roof never put the cut on end and cut the tile down so I not got a 100mm cut that's ruff u doing a good job but little details
Why is there a random lath 4 course up confused 🤔
It’s a pity that a good roofer is so hard to come by. I’ve been let down a couple of times for a re-roof. No explanation, just dropped it despite me accepting the estimate in full and offering time and materials for the unknowns. Luckily it’s not as bad as the roof in this video, though I suspect this one was better before they started.
How many inches valley wider was
I would have bent it into a u- shape out of situ to get it into the gutter 90% without thining it by bossing it to death . and then bend it over the front.
That's because the young one needs to learn.
Pointless...
🤣
Nice 200kg roll of rubber there 😄
Nicely done. I might go with a bit of a longer nail when reinstalling the slates, as it didn’t seem to have much depth on the wood there. But great technical skills fella. Nice to see someone actually take the time to remove the tiles and properly fit the valley rather than try to shiny some junk in from the exposed portion.
Tin can construction
Good roofing that is 😂😂😂😂 usless cunts carnt even screw the dry ridge kit in 😂😂😂😂
Wh did u slap the muck on top of the ridge tile like that? Instead of in between?
Because it's a interlocking capped ridge not a but up angle ridge which as a mortar joint between them
It’s a good job tho we have firms like this finding cowboy work I was on a re roof last week No shit it was 38 courses straight bond lats not even staggered 1 in 3 I’ve never seen anything like it no over hang on the gables they went flush to the brick work 😂 butchered the verges underneath so they could get them on It takes more time in the end bodging rather then doing it correct the first time lol just set the roof out and mark out before just tiling and hoping ffs 🤦♂️ Same with gauging up I see guys just go up at 13.2 then measure to the ridge tree after hitting half way That’s why we see what we do in this video a 2” overlap on the tile seeing the nail holes It’s ridiculous I’ll tell you the problem We train a labourer up who after a year thinks hold on I’m doing same work as roofer here but less pay They think they are a roofer after a year or 3 😂 so leave get a lad and take on work We have lads who claim to be roofers … who are NOT!! All the gear - No idea
You wanna check the pitch too, double Romans’ 17.5 degrees or 22.5 granulated I think. Might only be able to put a smooth redland regnant on something that low. (12.5)
Or a centurion
@@psymon25 thanks for that mate
🙈f##k 🙈 And they get away with it
Rodders
I phoned the roof company who did the first job and when they asked for my name, they then asked me if I wanted a bigger one 😂😂😂😂
A yes lovely job Mrs , no rain will get in after us hope there's no wind coming 😂🤪
🤣🤣
Could be wrong but that looks longer than 1.5m maybe the camera perspective
Hi yes you are wrong it's 1.5m code 5 with T-pren plus joints. Let me know if there's anything else you need to know.
The elder fella working, young lad recording I’ll bet😂
Yeah that's how it works, I was on the opposite valley 😁👍
Know what the doing these lads
We sure do Sean 😁👍
Did you mark the felt up or just guess where the battens go 😂😂😂
🤦 how do you do it 🤔
We use cooked spaghetti to get our lines straight
We square the roof up in various different ways, we then mark up the roof with a tape and marker then chalk line the felt, the battens then follow the chalk lines, we then strike the roof out so all the perps line through.
@@jwconstruction378 Quite weird, we in Belgium first put felt, then vertical pieces of wood and afterwards the horizontal ones that are used for putting the tiles on. Why only Horizontal pieces of wood?
@@johnskip2694 nothing weird about it, we had another roof to tie into on the left so if we counter batten it we won't run into the old roof, I normally counter batten my roofs.
Did you use any cement pal very sandy
Yes as a roofing rule 3-1 ratio the sand is Waddy fell it's very orange
Not sandy
No 3x1 are you sat watching my videos thinking what can I say to them 🤦
@@jwconstruction378 hello buddy you winning do you remember me
@@smithytv2615 yes mate always winning are you
Batten
All you are showing is 2 men using nail guns , you haven’t really explained how to fix or gauge a roof tile , pointless!!
We are not here to tell people how to do it, it's a video showing how fast we work.
The video doesn't explain the mechanism of a paslode gun , or how the trees are grown which make the batterns ? God there some sad people on these channels
@@nonsheep5823 Are you refering to the DIY ERS commenting on my videos 😂😂
@@jwconstruction378 yes I fekin am 🤣, iv been roofing since I was 18 im 44 now, my knowledge was gained like yours by getting up at the crack off dawn snow ,rain ,frost doing brutally hard work all day that the average man would cry from. Knowledge comes at a cost and doesn't come for free... please use your great platform to expose cowboy workmanship and to show off you and your boys skills !! Dont teach numptys for free. God luck man and enjoy the sun today 🙌
@@nonsheep5823 You talk like me 😂😂 I've been roofing since 16 I'm 44 now, I love them messaging I just laugh not a fucking clue what we are doing, but still message random shite trying to extract info out of me, thank you for this message it's not just me wanting to do a great job keep up the good work too, what part of the country are you.
Do you damp the tiles and ridge before applying the mortar? What is your mix ratio and type of sand?
3-1 mix waddy fell sand, plus I use SBR brushed on the tile and ridges before we start
How to drag the job out more like get some slate cutters FFS
Ey up a pretend roofer commenting again, we cut slates the traditional way, it's hardly dragging the job out on a price, next question son.
@@jwconstruction378 traditional way lol get with it bud how old are you 70 you need your buss pass , get some slate cutters for £55 and you will make that back in a day i would cut a whole valley and do hip cuts in the time you cut one slate pal .anyways have a good xmas and lets hope santa brings you some new tools
@@jwconstruction378 by the sounds of it you broke that slate with the amount of times you hit it little bit of wind and thats gone and i just see a vid of some old man walking on slates thats a no go pal
@@smithytv2615 🤦 put some videos up oh no you won't big lad.
@@jwconstruction378 i don’t need to record my work thank you tho big lad
You never bed ridges on slates. Always do a secret bed under the ridge.
Ey up you just contradicted your self, what happens if the ridges are badly chipped on the sides from previous roofer hacking them off , you cannot just bed them on they look ugly. If the customer cannot afford new ridges then this is the way simple. On new black capped ridges we secret bed them and send a stainless steel screw into a batten. Put some of your work up online for us to see.
Yea secret bed depends on the ridge tile and pitch
@@Mt3Dpdrtk be careful commenting on this guys videos. Potential period pains incoming. 😂
@@roofinguk haha, true though in that case I would’ve actually put a a bed underneath but still questionable
Do you know Withnell Villa?
Hi I know Withnell yes
Why don’t you nail every other course and 3 tiles in from the sides if ain’t of them break in the future some poor cunts gotta try rip that out
Good job!
