Childhood Memories of Diablo

In this video, I'll dive into what I loved most about Diablo 1 and 2. Diablo 2 stands as one of the best ARPGs ever made, and I'll explain why it remains a classic. From the dark atmosphere of the original to the refined gameplay of the sequel, these games shaped my love for the genre. Here's why Diablo 2, in particular, has left a lasting impact on the gaming world and on me.

Brutal job and homeless people part 2
I played for over 10 years since beta 3. Nothing else will ever compare. I ran into a korean enchanter back in the day, his name was Highwa. He was an excellent puller, juggled adds, charm and cc’d like a boss. I’ll always remember him. We duo’s a lot in Sebelis. Rogue and Enchanter duo was not normal in Kunark.
I just tried to login for day 2 of this game I'm already met with a license error! WTF. I'm playing a non season, 3 hours thrown away. Garbage
dude i highly recommend u to watch decent videos before decide to ur tier list if u dont play in beta hunting horn seriously might surprise u its s for sure and that dude just cant play insect glaive and put it to low tier cant belive..IG is most powerfull form on any MH game. Why u watchin this guyz tier list also i dunno lol..LBG and HBG is most boring weapons for me cuz of u spam same shit as mobile turret but dmg is there for sure this dude has no clue about makin tier list or his learning curve so low dunno..U should watch decent tier list for not havin so wrong decisions. And the Bow is top of S im so mad to this dude he s dumb as fckn im sure now..
Mh Wilds is made for it's fans. I'm into it man
Tbh i think great sword actually is one of the easiest weapons to use in the game now purely because of focus mode. Being able to aim all your attacks and just tackle when you need to has made the weapon significantly easier. It used to be hard to master because you had to position well and learning timings in order to land ur TCS.
As an HBG main, I feel that with Wilds, Capcom has completely destroyed everything that was fun about the HBG before 5th gen. I put Wilds' HBG in the F tier, for not having any thought go into its usage other than to avoid the monster and fire back. Also, they made the shield mod mandatory, which is high heresy as any true HBG main knows.
@theoperator3712 LBG is still a nice pick
Every weapon is so cool and fun to play But dps is also something i really look into(even tho idrc about it i still use what is fun) Lance in this game is BUSTED you deal the same damage as LS with no condition DB have bad performance rn but probably because no utility skill for it Bow and Bowgun will still continue to dominate leaderboard I wish to see HH to be on the top as well rn its A in term of DPS but when other weapon got thier armor skills im not sure will it just leave HH as bottom tier again as the other generation GL will see better results than in the past because shelling scale with attack power now IG Fell off HARD idk why capcom prolly hate it since it domination in 4u in rise is super weak in world are kinda alright CB is just CB being CB nothing special just got like new shortcut and new phial to decrease DPS downtime GS is just QOL upgrade SA got big combo upgrade but its always aggressive with lack of defensive just like the old one Only weapon that i dont have opinion on is Hammer and SNS because idk hammer and SNS will get buff every game just like it always does and its still probably will be A+ tier in term of DPS
They took a lot of inspiration from Frontier too GL dash move and LS spirit release
You can turn off the thunder by deleting the file name in an .inl file, should be on the p99 forums.
I love watching you talking about MH But a lot of your perspective comes from you being a casual player of MH theres nothing wrong with it, i still enjoy listening Dual blade always been good not the best but always good Also from the past video you said hammer are good when it bounce(i think you said better than other weapon that bounced not "hammer need to bounce) but still, its not, you want it to not bounce at all Also i agree that the new game has changed a lot, i have play since FU i get it But we just have to just let new players have fun and we just have to accept it Also i think wild they said reason you got Ps1 graphics is you alt tabs or do something while the game is compiling shaders I didnt try to fix it tho too lazy XD
Keep in mind it's the same beta that was at Gamescom. The newest gameplay (the one in the scarlet forest) was waaay more stable and optimized
this has to be rage bait
2:00 Ah, yes, let me go sharpen my hammer real quick. Haven't played hammer that much, but it makes sense that it would care less about bouncing and sharpness compared to other weapons. As a lance main, it's nice to hear some acknowledgement that the weapon isn't completely braindead to use optimally. Sure, you have a big shield that can block most attacks without too much thought or skill, but if you're just turtled up the whole hunt the monster is just going to run off and chew on someone else. You have to really be looking for every opportunity to get your attacks in, and taking damage is much more penalizing when you are slow, have a short dodge animation, and need 5-10 business days to put away your weapon to heal. Over the years, Sunbreak expansion was probably my favorite buff for lances, Shield Tackle is just so useful for getting extra hits in safely (I can actually stun during a hunt without completely ruining my DPS!), and Skyward Thrust is so much more satisfying as a burst option than lance has ever had before.
$100 for Freedom 1? Your GameStop was ripping you off.
@theoperator3712 it's true. But the price you had to pay to even see a copy of the game back then, was worth every penny
Laoshan farming for the meta HBG in MHFU lol
Lance main here, really hyped for the new moves and improved movement they're giving it this time around. So many more opportunities to weave openings together. I've played every weapon in my time and the gameplay loop of the lance is the most fun to me (and the like six other lance players), constantly having to switch between getting in a monster's grill and digging my heels in is just plain exhilarating. I'll probably also bring hunting horn cuz I'm a musician and the idea of using music to buff your team and shred monsters is so cool. Also don't know if you've read this or anybody's told you yet, but the demo thing they're doing is an open beta, so everybody is guaranteed to get in :)
Going for Charge Blade, Insect Glaive, and Bow.
The Charge Blade was the toughest to use, probably wasn't the best choice for me to go with that one as a first time player. That's the one you were thinking of, Charge Blade, cool weapon though... Think I'll go with the Switch Axe if it's in Monster Hunter Wilds, was easier to use, and a hell of a lot of damage! Keep it up! Next video tomorrow, eh?
Im stuck between the charge blade, hunting horn, bow, and greatsword. I can't choose😭
Well its a good thing you can carry 2 weapons into a fight now.
I hope you make it into beta🙏
I have high expectations for this game. I agree with the drop rates, they better be reasonable
Dude this great, using the time that driving takes and using it to make videos
I dont think we need to sign up for the open beta starting in a few days. Hopefully ill see you out in the Forbiden Lands. 🎮🗡️🛡️🐦🔥🦖
15:55 Respect because it is very true, this Company is working SO hard (and the amazing thing is that they actually are listening rhe community A LOT) to give us the best possible MH experience. I whish they'll add underwater combat in the next title (the portable one, after Wilds)
MY BROTHER IS POPPING OFF
I agree with everything you said in the video: - I really like the new monster designs, it seems like the Monster Hunter Frontier team finally merged with the mainline team to bring a more unique roster, while reminding themselves about Monster Hunter 4's monsters. I was really disappointed by MH World's monsters when it came out, many newcomers will only remember how all the monsters looked after Iceborne and the updates but base game MH World was kinda rough in the monster desings aside from the Elder Dragons. 1/3rd of the base game used to look very similar to other monsters, like for example Great Jagras, Great Girros and Dodogama, while I really liked the last one and was the best out of the three it is undeniable that it felt like a "reskin" after some time. Then you also had KuluYaKu, TzitziYaKu, Rath subspecies, Black Diablos, Jyuratodus, Lavasioth, Zorah Magdaros and then theres the gimmicky crossover fights that you would only really play it once and done (Behemoth, and both Leshen versions). It looks like Wilds will prioritize more quality this time, they really want to make every monster unique, I really have not seen any that look very similar to another except the Raths which is understandable since its a tradition of the series. I like the idea that the continent this time is called the Forbidden Lands because this place will really hold the most unique ecology out of all the games so far. MH World base game monsters felt very similar, I understand the monster ecology and evolution lore but I dont want to see half of the roster being Brute Wyverns or Flying Wyverns that look very similar. - The weapon and armor designs are back to peak again. Nothing much to say here other than giving congratulations to the dev team for listening to the criticism. - Map art design seems to also be more of a successor to 4th gen, it looks believable enough and also gives fantastical vibes, this is spot on to what I wanted. All of the maps revealed so far looks similar to areas in Monster Hunter 4. The new desert biome the Windward Plains look VERY similar to the Ancestral Steppe, and the new Scarlet Forest biome reminds a lot of people about Malenia and the Scarlet Rot, but for me it reminded me as well about the Primal Forest, the new volcano area is like the Sunken/Volcanic Hollow as well but with an even more fantastical twist. I dont know if it happens for anyone else but I really think this game is trying to be what Monster Hunter 4 couldnt do at the time because of hardware limitations. - I really like the dynamic UI, even though I would also consider for some other players to add the default UI from World and classic UI from the older games, the UI from World was much easier to understand where every quarter of HP bar sits at, same applies to the stamina gauge. However what I really really liked now, is that when you sharpen your weapon in Wilds you will see how each sharpening animation will give you sharpness instead of waiting for three cycles to complete to give you the sharpness which was annoying because if you got hit the animation would cancel and it wouldnt give you any sharpness. There was also the classic UI that took your entire screen to make huuuge health and stamina bars which is more nostalgia than anything but it would be good to bring it back. I am also happy they brought back the blood effects as a toggleable feature and the pause button, both were absent in MH World. - As long as they keep generous drop rates and part break loot system for MH Wilds, it will be great. I just really hope this game has a solid endgame system, if I had to design the endgame I would combine a better iteration of Guiding Lands (without the region level loss) with MH4U's Relics, Honing and monster leveling with investigations for randomized quests and equipment. Investigations were great in World but felt a bit undercooked with tempered system, it should have been monster levels and the optional randomized equipment as rewards for min maxing and it would have been a great excuse to keep playing and enjoying the game. And the most challenging randomized quests should give you the best equipment, for example hunting a Rajang duo in 20 minutes and with 1 faint if you do it you have a guaranteed chance of getting a gem and the highest chance of obtaining the most sought after jewels. - Regarding crafting, I think the most forgotten tool/traps you can use is the poisoned meat, drugged meat and paralized meat. I really think it could be useful to bring those back to give more reasons to use stealth gameplay and give a more generous status ailment window to make them worth using. Last time I remember really using those was in Monster Hunter Tri, since then their usefulness has been silently dropping. I would also like if you could put a pitfall or shock trap near one of the sleeping ailment frogs and if the monster hp threshold is low enough it should be an instant capture, that would be a great implementation, same with the tree vines if you could use those and other scenery to trap the monster and capture by throwing the tranq bombs or shooting the tranq ammo. If I had to ask for any useful items to come back, it would be the SnS oils from MHGen, since it would give more versatility to this weapon and I feel its very left behind. Also I am not sure but I think hot/cold drinks are coming back to Wilds. Other than that, the only missing crafting items are the crafting books which used inventory space to only increase your crafting success chance (because you used to have failure rate on crafting which quickly turned very annoying to lose a good chunk of your inventory to those books), they could be added with a better idea in the future but its going to be difficult to make their usefulness reasonable. I would also like new craftable items in this category, it would be interesting to add element resistance items that reduce your taken elemental damage for a short period of time, like for example when you know the monster is enraged and you dont know if you will make it out alive you could use an Ice resistance consumable and you would get iceblight immunity, snowball ailment immunity and you would tank more Ice damage (maybe even add some extra elemental damage to your attacks as well). Same with the other elements and it could make more use of the Fireherbs, Flowferns, Snowherbs, Dragonfellberry and Parashroom/Thunderbugs to craft the elemental resistance items if you are not too interested in crafting elemental ammo or coatings for ranged weaponry. I also liked the Wild Hearts idea of making more varied traps, as you said fall damage traps that give a fixed amount of damage and a stagger ONLY if you time it correctly and one use per monster, also add elemental traps that could either give elemental blight to a monster or giving it fixed elemental damage with one use per monster as well. More variety to hunting is always welcome. So far I am getting better vibes from this game than MH World at launch, just seeing the monsters currently makes me wonder how they will top it all with the expansion, the idea of having unique subspecies of monsters like Lala Barina that instead of being blood red and shooting red paralyzing spores it could be purple and shoot purple+blue dragon flame spores at midnight and all the colors reflecting on the water would be peak. And then the entirely new monsters that will be added with the expansion and updates.
I'll be honest, I played Iceborne and Sunbreak and loved them, but they definitely didn't give me that sense of wonder that the older games did. But Wilds is genuinely starting to seem like it's gonna rekindle that feeling, and I think you're spot on with it possibly being the fact that they are going hard on the world-building for this game. I could be wrong, but this game seriously looks like it's gonna be the most natural living breathing world in any MH game, and that has me pumped with excitement. Not saying it will be perfect! But this game looks so damn promising
I'm thrilled with the amount of work and effort they've put into this game. It reminds me of the excitement for old titles that kept you up at night, wondering about the monsters you'd face and the armor or weapons you'd unlock. That anticipation made the game truly exciting.
The goofy ass grin this video put on my face. Man. I remember when I started out my hunting journey. I never get tired of stories like this.
D4 is significantly better than D3 but nothing will ever compare to D2.

aaron seeing after a long time omg
can't wait for SC2 remaster
Glad you're playing this pos, so I don't have to.
Btw bro Activision Blizzard merged in 2008. D3 came out in 2012, 4 yrs later! Sooo Blizzard making shitty games has nothing to do with Activision now lol. Just starting rotting long time ago. I think it started happening after WoW 2003 4 somewhere there. All Blizz games before WoW were top. Wow somehow acted like a cancer to that company. I think they saw alot of money to be made from it being so big and having a huge player base that it shifted in an entirely different direction and mindset.
Mobile phones killed everything too, they invented micro transactions then this shitty concept got transferred to PC games too. It's just corporate greed. There's no passion in these games anymore, this isn't the 90s/00s when this was all starting out and was real cool. Now it's too easy to make this shit it's like copy pasta and they make it all shit. Just looks good but it's terrible and hella boring, instead of horror u feel emptiness.
I find it interesting that for your group back then greatsword and hammer were the way to go, because for my group back then the meta was all about speed. For slow weapons, you need time to properly position yourself and there are fewer safe openings because the animations taking so long. Like it felt much better being able to hit 5x 200 damage than in the same time maybe get one big 800 damage hit in. So with speed at focus, our meta was SnS as a general weapon: Fast hits, fast blocking, fast sheathing to use an item. You could just stick to the monster and keep attacking. This worked well for all of low rank, high rank and the majority of g rank. Only for really big HP sponges, like lao shan lung, akantor, fatalis, we switched to dual sword in combination with infinite stamina for absolute offensive damage spam. If in danger, the weapon allowed you to quickly sidestep or sheathe super fast. And 100% uptime demon mode dishes out decent damage too. We tried slow weapons and ranged weapons too, but they always felt kinda gimmiky and for none of us they ever clicked. Only with generation 3 (Tri and 3U), I switched to longsword, because they made SnS feel more flaoty and weightless and it didn't feel right anymore.
I am legit trying to find people to play Freedom 1 and Freedom Unite with for the last 5 years. I have posted on gaming forums, I have posted on discord, I asked every time I find people intrested in monster hunter. It would be so easy now too with emulation on PC and the online play that comes with it. There is even a fully fantranslated Monster Hunter 3 for PSP, which was never ported to the west, so you can play a brand new monster hunter title for the PSP too. But every time I ask it's always everyone only coming into the franchise with World and they just find older titles clunky and too unpolished :< I have made the exact same experience as you, I was like 14, a friend shows it to me, I get my own copy, third friend joining in. In the end we were like 5 people playing together on PSP. I remember when we unlocked Akantor for the first time and no one was able to beat it. Then eventually me and one of my friends specially made dragon element dual swords, drank that potion for infinite stamina and just spammed the triangle-circle combo over and over at its belly. And we actually beat it and screamed for like 5 minutes straight. For Fatalis only 2 of us ever beat it together and only one of us managed to solo it. I believe I never beat it, so it's like a 15 years old unfinished business with the guy :D
Remaster the old games with better hit boxes Capcom. Put it on systems that don't feel so bad to controlling on imo, like psp or 3ds. I've played it al the way back to 3rd gen now.
Before clicking video it said that was 13:37 long, while watching it says 13:36.
maybe for teh n00bzorz
I Rember drawing my own maps when it first came out. It would be great if someone made a VR version.
Everquest was just a MUD with a graphic interface (thus the /commands). People just arent aware of what the game was. It would be easy to create another EQ1.
It's just amazing to see how big Monster hunter has become especialy in the the west. My first gaming device was psp and freedom unite was my first game, back then i just downloaded the demo and when my 9th birthday came around asked for the full game as a present, tri was my second game then World, and rise pretty big jump from freedom unite but it always had the same spirit. I cant wait for Wilds. Also Congollala was my first wall so seeing him return was awsome.
Me when i can hunt a monster
Always with the Tim Horton's bro LOL
Don't worry, PoE2 is just around the corner. It will be the game that we wanted after D2.
Another man of culture. Will you believe me, that the OG Monster Hunter on PS2 was even harder? Double Trouble (without head-locking with the Dragon Spear of Fatalis) is so hard that I cannot clear it today in 50 minutes time. A standard los+ and ian+. The egg quests were also harder, they removed a few obstacles in Freedom (less Bullfango).
The truth hurts but it will set you free hahahahaha
Thanks for sharing your experience with old MH, I feel lucky that I found this video. It's like a modern version of a blog post about some guy explaining why they enjoyed a particular game that they're playing at the time. Believe it or not, the thing that makes your explanation particularly good is the total lack of Monster Hunter vernacular; it just shows that you're explaining your experience in a box and without outside influence, and I love the little details that you remember, like bouncing on Khezu with less than blue sharpness. Freedom 1 is way too cumbersome for most MH players to try these days, but like your explanation shows, it wasn't something that we questioned at the time: this is how you played the game, and you either accepted it and did the best you could, or you gave up. It's not like the game cared whether you quit or not. You wouldn't believe how much Freedom Unite changed from Freedom 2. So similar, and yet so many fundamental changes were made. I definitely recommend that you play Freedom Unite when you feel like experiencing this stuff again. It will feel familiar, yet very modern at the same time.
