Pigeon Forges Only Drive In Theater
While I was down in Pigeon Forge Tennessee and the Smokey Mountains I found the location of the only Drive In Theater Now lost that was in the area. Come check out the location of the Midland drive in now. While I was in the area I also filmed a little vintage iron and a bit of history of my time in the town. Enjoy

Try Dairy Hut down the road too!
@bwompusss7397 i have and its very good.
I agree. I live off of Richmond Rd. Some people up here should not own a car. Wife is from Harlan!
@bwompusss7397 yeah folks where just stopping in middle highway.
So digging further the train we are talking about is a Baldwin 280 and has never been moved since the park opened. The other was a baldwin 260. Ive seen some info saying its at cedar point some its in Chattanooga. Looks like the 280 was placed in 61 and not moved since. Im not the most knowledgeable on trains like I am cars but like anything transportation related I enjoy them.
@@jeffreyrigged as for the 2-6-0 the number plates don’t match for it to be the one for Chattanooga although very possible they could have been swapped at some point 206 from display was Baldwin #34964. The Choo Choo plate is Baldwin #41654. Your guess is as good as mine on that one
@Adventureswegoon definitely be nice to find it. I wonder why they moved it? It would have been near where my truck was setting. I found some more cool pics of the 280.
Hey buddy this train was never used inside Dollywood under any name. East Tennessee, Virginia and Georgia Railway was used in building Douglas dam by tva then moved down after. No. 107 is standard gauge and is unable to run on the park's 3ft gauge tracks. On display at the Dollywood Parkway ticket center at the corner of Parkway and Dollywood Lane in Pigeon Forge. This train is a 2-8-0 Dollywood express runs a 2-8-2 2small wheels in the front 8 big drive wheels 2 small in the back. The trains are number 70 “Cinderella” and number 192 Klondike Katie". Both ran the White pass & Yukon route for the U.S. Army
@Adventureswegoon the only train I posted was at the ticket center. It was the marque since I know silver dollar city. I did post a photo of the dollywood express saying you can ride it but never said the marquee one was used inside. That's great info on the tva info.
Ok i did some research on the rebel railroad marque it was the right train as two where there originally. The number is 123 on the nose. It's definitely same train just in different paint. I'm not sure where the left side train is now. Not sure if that's correct number or they put 123 on it back then as it was painted red at that time. Maybe you can shed light.😊
Its possible that the left train is now at cedar point on lake. Erie. I found some info saying it may be. Also I think there is a back up dollywood express. I heard one of the train workers mention they had another train and the alternate them out. According to wiki they have 4 282 trains they alternate.
@@jeffreyrigged The train u showed at the yellow house ticket office was the display train from back in the day. For rebel railroad Just thought you would like to know the train on display vs what u can ride is technically different being that the 2-8-0 on display is 4ft 8in wide and can’t fit on the theme parks 3ft wide tracks and the 2 trains you can ride are 2-8-2 Dollywood only has 2 trains that are in operation #70 #192 there almost identical with small differences Dollywood bought two additional trains #71 #72 #71 is stored awaiting repair (mostly saved for parts repair isn’t really possible with its condition nicknamed Beatrice #72 was parted out to keep #70 and #192 up and running Sometimes in early spring Dollywood will do a behind the scenes tour for the trains and the shop where they work on them at the park it’s very interesting Here’s a couple video’s of each train in action #70 ruclips.net/user/shorts50BHmb_RxGc?si=_saI4cHQX7j4c8HK #192 ruclips.net/user/shortsztLE7p66OgM?si=_Uk_nm4WlRMJcwNY Each summer Dollywood does dance party’s at night and they use old trucks to dance in my profile pic is a old Studebaker they use there’s 2 ford trucks and one Chevrolet also I got a video of them using one of the fords ruclips.net/user/shortsHN-uQbiCu3o?si=aZrsPDlsaMWktgK9 Thanks for the video Feel free to reach out with any questions Dollywood or sevier county related.
Even out here in the west, where the weather is dryer, there aren't many drive-ins left. Interestingly, the Dukes of Hazard were actually filmed in Southern California where I lived at the time. I remember seeing car carriers with half a dozen "General Lee's" and white cop cars on them headed to the filming locations in the Calabasas foothills.
@2coolwheels139 the actual first 8 episodes where filmed in covington Georgia but rest are in California. Prior to the show though scouts came to hazard ky and took tons of photos. There is a interesting story on my ex in-laws and how the Luke name came about for show.
@2coolwheels139 We had a photography store and apparently the scouts where in there. They where telling stories on my ex grandpa and great uncle named Mark and Luke while they where inside . Scouts got a kick out of it.
@@jeffreyrigged It was a very entertaining show, funny and plenty of car stunts. Sadly, they destroyed a lot of Dodge Chargers making it, however.

@MustangGuy6501 not really sure. I've just starting back into it. It definitely will be just home jobs nothing professional. Just basically make the cars better than they are.

Made the trip down there last year just for the fact that there are so few locations left (only one in Kentucky). It was like taking a trip back in time! Food was pretty good, staff was super friendly, would definitely go back!
If it's better than Arby's I would eat there
@outdoorsmansgarage it definitely is. Imagine arbys in it's prime but then add it a bit more home made ish.

I have a inherited from bother n law after my sister just passed 1974 stingray. Special ordered . 15 dealerships were allowed to order 1 Special stingray with the 365 hp 454. The other 454 rest of production of that being the last year of big blocks were 265hp. This one is Daytona yellow, ttops, alarm, 4 speed. With air conditioning. There was no warranty due to that engine over heating in traffic. It has 6k miles on it and is currently a strict show car. It is not driven cause I'm using silicon for brake fluid. Non corrosive. The car is set up strictly for show. One day before I die I'm sending it to barret Jackson auction. Not anytime soon though

I very rarely do cars on RUclips. It's mainly for history buffs for me. A war movie every now again.
@thomaswilson8634 i do like history as well. Speaking of the history channel and other discovery networks are a shell of what they used to be.
I also hit on history in some videos like my detroit trip. It's automobile based but I have alot fun filming it.
There is no 351M 4V factory intake. Yes, aftermarket intake is expensive. Good news is, these were designed for low end torque, and the Ford 2V carb is very simple and reliable. If you want low cost: 1) I believe the '70 timing set for the Cleveland fits and will give you better timing (Malaise era timing sets are all retarded a few degrees). 2) Advance the timing on the distributor. 3) fatten up the carb jets. 4) Open up the exhaust. This will give you improved performance for not a lot of cost. It's always going to be heavy and not much of a handler anyhow, so wake it up a little but don't go nuts. Besides, the compression ratio is super low and the camshaft is designed for low end torque - it will never breathe unless you go the full monty and redo the whole thing. You'll be happy with the stock torque on that thing and the mods I recommended will make a little more lively.
@@zilksmooth thank you
