    This is in Ex- Reading scheme with the D&H patches. When the Reading was merged into Conrail, the D&H received Reading GP39-2's that Conrail did not want for some odd reason, along with Reading rolling stock.

    That looks like a DC Fleischmann to me. They did make Märklin-compatible AC locomotives, but they had a big skid under the chassis, pretty easy to spot.

    Wow, you've got quite the collection of locomotives. I kinda skimmed through the video but heard "DCC" a lot. The closest thing I have to DCC is a Bachmann Texas "chugger".

      @@ianbroxterman3810Somehow, the gears aren’t cracked on the chugger I have, but Bachmann’s sucky pancake motor they crammed into the chassis is burnt out.

    Yep, I got HO scale trains for Christmas. 1 Atlas RS-3 Central of Georgia, 1 brass Hallmark Fairbanks-Morse H12-44 Central of Georgia, 4 freight cars Central of Georgia (1 was a very detailed Kadee boxcar) & 3 MOW Maintenance of Way freight cars (1 Kitchen boxcar, 1 Maintenance boxcar & 1 working Caboose) all of which are True Scale. Day after Christmas I got my birthday present (birthday was yesterday, Jan. 4th - 73 years old) which was another Atlas Fairbanks-Morse H15-44 Central of Georgia. Since I used to live in Jonesboro, GA, I model the Central of Georgia Railway Company which was purchased by Southern Railways in 1962, and was subsequentially purchased by Norfolk Southern in 1982. Cheers from an ex-Georgian in eastern TN

    I just got this kit myself. I like Scale Trains locos but this will be my last Scale Trains rail car. $30 is too much for these big hands to add all those little details. It's a nice kit and all but for that assembly work, it's not worth it.

  • @xxxx-hw5we
    @xxxx-hw5we 10 месяцев назад

    Oh my God! This is what Scale Trains is doing now? I clicked onto this video thinking they had released a new Santa Fe waycar that was needed or at least wanted. As I watched you build this car I thought "No, can't be"! As it turned out it definitely is. I do not know how much you paid for that kit, but anything over $8.00 you got the major shaft. You may be asking yourself, what is this guy talking about? Well, put it like this. You could have bought the same exact car from ebay or any train show or cheap train store online. They have been around for years. In fact, they are older than you. You spent money buying a Scale Train Replica of the original Athearn Blue Box Caboose that was loosely based on a Santa Fe Waycar. Athearn painted them in many roads and they sold across the country like hot cakes. ST did not even go to the level of giving you separate grab irons on the ends and body of the car. The car isn't even a Ce-1 class car. Ce-1's did not have wooden floors on the entrances or wood running boards on the roof. The side window configuration of the cupola and one side of the body is wrong nor do you have the axle driven alternator (which this car really should have the generator below the car centered in between aleit just ahead of the front wheel axle directly below the cupola. No Ce-1's had the old wooden frame slide type windows and you are still missing the tool box on the other side. Please do not waste any more of your money buying these rip off cabooses.

    Nice attempt to get it running. You need to get the right tender for that locomotive. A Rivarossi or a Kemtron brass tender will benefit you in the long run. I know you may be just starting out in the hobby, but trust me as someone who has been in the model train hobby for many years, throw all that Bachmann track in the river and buy some Kato track.
