Several years ago, my journey took me to Prague, where I immersed my hand in the waters of the Vltava. It was the month of February, and the river bore an earthy, silt-laden hue, starkly contrasting with the portrayal found within this symphonic poem. The local populace informed me that during the winter and early spring, the Vltava's waters are muddied due to the thawing of snow. They advised that to behold the river's crystalline waters, one should visit in the summertime. Additionally, they mentioned that the winter season offers few clear days, rendering it less ideal for visits. Nonetheless, Prague in winter holds its own allure. The briskness of the early morning air imparts a sense of dignity and clarity upon touch. Amidst this dignified atmosphere, I found solace as I meandered along the Vltava's banks under the nascent morning sun, contemplating the historical tapestry of this venerable city.
