I was looking for a good loop knot for my hammock. This may be perfect. Thanks.

I live on a houseboat in Key West. I also have a 26 ft sailboat and 13 ft Boston Whaler skiff and this knot is one of my most used. It works well in slipery wet polypropylene by leaving long tags on each overhand and unlay the 3 strands and tuck each under the 3 strands of each standing ropes against the lay for a highly secure joined single length. Lobster fishermen join their lobster traps trotlines in this manner. 👍😁💪🏻

I use this loop when I make a handle for my items. Water bottles, car keys. I recently used it to make a wrist loop for my rope dart.

A sheet bend is a must for tying ropes , lines , tarp and other corners together but I have long ago added the slip which really comes in handy after heavy lifting and tension has come to bare on the knot and line.
