Merci.
Thank you for doing this helpful video. Question 1 - Other video indicated the one side needed tobe filed down so did you need to do tat? Question 2 - How long in "Real Time" did it take you from start to finish? Thanks again for a well done video.
Just finished the installtion of the Byrd Shelix and it went well. Took about 2 1/2 hours. Your video was very helpful!
Olof, your video showed exactly how to change the OEM cutter head to the Byrd Shelix cutter head. Well done sir! I figured out that the blade holders need to come off to take the OEM cutter head out as you did. The only variation I had to perform was to sand down the key on the cutter head pulley. The pulley should slide - not pressed fit - back onto the shaft. Aside from that, we don’t have the same taste in music. But that’s why they make chocolate AND vanilla 😂. Bravo and thank you.
And the snipe is gone!
Awesome video. Keep it up!
all that and its christened with a piece of mdf
Takk for musiken.
You are welcome.
Thanks for sharing. I haven't decided if I am going to change mine yet, but it's good to know this video exists to help me if I do.
Thanks for video Sir.
Thank you! I am so pleased with the original result from the knives that I wonder whether the helical head is worth it on this planar. Could you please comment.
Link to the hélicoïdal cutter axis to buy it?
Hell and thanks for this grat video. As I did not found any other good vides using the shelix in a maklita planer I would be very interested what your experience with respect to snipe is. Was it further reduced? And in additon a noise level messurement during use would be very interesting. Many thanks and best regards.
Great video! Worked like a champ..
Thanks Yes in the end it was easy.
That was a bit of work but thanks to you i think i can do the upgrade. Love the snipelessness of this planer unlike the d745 everyone has
thank you for a great video: you made it look enticingly easy!😹
Yes It was.
removal of dust chute from metal plate (and then metal plate from planer) is unnecessary. Leave right angled metal plate attached to dust chute. the purpose of the hand knobs just beyond where you unscrewed the chute from the right angled plate is so you can quickly detach the dust chute without tools.
Really good video and very helpful.
Hi Olof, I’m very curious. Did you ever have any problems with the length of head? I ordered one which was to long and compressed the bearings enough so head would not spin. Byrd then tried to charge me for modifications. I compared head directly to 2 different makita 2012nb machines and they did not match. Just wondering if you had compared or had any problems. Thanks for video.
gay music is a vid killer
Check out the video explaining how to turn down the volume
@@rxcalvosa ARE YOU GAY
@@mikesjoinery Are you a moron?
@@mikesjoinery 😂🤣😂
I loved the music. I never thought gay. But you did.
Nice video. How is the noise difference for you? Does the dust collection work better as well?
I’d love to know the noise level of you could measure decibels on a smartphone app. I have this model with straight knives and am considering the shelix upgrade for noise reduction.
Thanks for the video. I was wondering when someone was going to do a video with the 2012nb
Great Video, very informative. Please could you add a link to where these Cutters are available
Byrd Tools. Do an internet search on Shelix
