Cops Pull over Street Legal SXS on Long Island, New York
While out on a 90 mile trip on County Road 48 (Sound Avenue) in Southold, NY on Long Island watch one of our FB Group Moderators, Jeff LaFlair as he is pulled over and questioned by a curious Southold Police Officer. I’m gonna try to get mine legalized this coming summer, but we also have a massive problem with illegal dirt bikes, and shit on the street so you know that the cops are gonna come after you regardless if you’re in a side-by-side legally

I have a can am totally street legal register in South Dakota and have cop busting me all the time saying it’s not legal to have it registered in another state and drive in PA roads
You’re selfie for the registration is not legal after about 30 to 45 days. States like Pennsylvania have a law of it say any resident of Pennsylvania is not allowed to own a vehicle registered in another state after 30 days. Your forced transfer title back to PA. And because they don’t register them you can’t. Sorry to tell you that but it’s true you can get a ticket for no registration or improper registration. If you look at your registration Scott your name and your home address in your home state. Almost every state has that law. That’s why with Montana, we have LLCs set up. LLC is the owner not you.

I’m a New Jersey residence that’s why I asked because I would love to buy one and get it registered and be able to have it in New Jersey with no problems with the law out here is not easy thank you 🙏
I don’t know what laws you’re talking about. He’s been riding in New Jersey for four years on my Montana tag without any issue whatsoever. You’ll run into an officer almost anywhere that might decide he wants to write a ticket or pull you over because he’s curious. This is not for everybody you may be challenged when approached by police officer but it is what it is we’re legal, we know it and we ride and enjoy our Machines. Once you realize an officer is going to "let you go" , you need to keep your mouth shut, agreeing, say thanks and leave. He keeps trying to explain, give examples, prove a point and talk more. Sir, quit while you're ahead. Once they're gona let you go just say thanks Sir, stay safe out here ....shut up and leave it alone. Don't temp fate... I need to get my machine registered! PA really needs to change their laws. I’m a PA resident and a cop in Delaware. I would love to be able to take a cruise on my machine on the street.

The company that our group uses in Montana charge is 895 and that’s a one time charge. That’s just set up the LLC that one on your vehicle and you’ll be the owner of that LLC. That also includes permanent registration with tags and title for your first side-by-side.

Can I do this in California?
Best things you can do is keep the oil and filter changed and cleaned. Keep the air filter clean. Check the OIL'S LEVEL DAILY. Do a visual check for oil and cooling for leaks. Check for torn or ripped axle boots. Look underneath the SxS before you start it for wet spots on the garage or driveway. Watch your temperature gauge while underway. Overheating the engine is extremely hard on any motor.
