New Paradigm Communities 101 (part 2b)
A series that illustrates the reality of the overall situation we find our species as well as the planet in. it lays out useful information for the process of awakening others and introduces the concept of and urgent need for "New Paradigm Communities". It offers a glimpse of how they begin, what they can look like and how they can operate. with their intentions as being the basis for the global transition we MUST make, it shows what they seek to holistically offer humanity and the planet as a whole.

    Julia Lorraine "Butterfly" Hill(born February 18, 1974) is an American environmental activist and tax redirection advocate. She is best known for having lived in a 180-foot (55 m)-tall, roughly 1500-year-old California redwood tree for 738 days between December 10, 1997 and December 18, 1999. Hill lived in the tree, affectionately known as Luna, to prevent Pacific Lumber Company loggers from cutting it down. She is the author of the 2000 book The Legacy of Luna and co-author of One Makes the Difference.

    She's correct, but capitalism don't work the way she thinks and she's against the system. Capitalism is more, more, more growth, consume more, bigger, better , bigger hamburgers for less, more money, get rich etc.... Kids are raised that way, ambitious, aggressive, they want Nike shoes, Adidas T-shirts, follow pop-stars, fast sport cars, super models, football player , who's rich, talk of the town how much money these people make, what they own, which stock yield more profit and I can go on and on! That's how most people think, except introverts. That's what she's up against!

  • @longauldin462

    Words so very little about something so necessary to hear. She could not have said those thoughts any better than she just did. Wow she lived in a tree for 2 years and lives only off of nature. I find that one could do this, since this is how it once was done in a point in history. If this word can be spread like the hate is then we would be going in the right direction. I agree, and I aim to become this disciplined. Wow and to think a science class brought me here.

    She doesn't think about how many paper plates a tree can make yet she has no problem using trees as a fence to use as a background in her interview! Awesome!

      Paper plates are designed to be disposable. A fence is not!

      @auralit8 2 года назад

      @@rwfrench66GenX My point was that you're making a false comparison. With the paper plates, she was talking about trees being used in a disposable way. That's different than a fence, which is meant to stick around! I admit I'm not sure what you're trying to say now.

    • @rwfrench66GenX
      @rwfrench66GenX 2 года назад

      @@auralit8 Fences are meant for privacy, to keep my space from your space, and there's a variety of materials that could be used to build those fences, including recycled materials, but she chose wood, the very thing she's going off about and I find that hypocritical. It doesn't matter to me if you can understand or see that point.

    • @auralit8
      @auralit8 2 года назад

      @@rwfrench66GenX Why are you being so rude about this? I understand your point-it's not that complicated. I thought from your frustration that maybe I was missing something, but now I realize I was not. Thank you for clearing that up. I can understand why you think that's hypocritical, but I think that using something from the environment permanently is different from using a disposable product. I also doubt she built this fence. It might not even be her house. It would actually be MORE wasteful to dispose of an existing fence to dismantle it and replace it with other materials.

  • @szaki
    @szaki 9 лет назад

    Now days most waste gets recycled, I think! Paper, plastic, soda cans, glass,wood , electronics etc.. I have to pay $15 for my car battery recycled! May be 10 years ago, seen on DW TV , in Germany a super efficient waste recycle plant was built, recycles every thing, separates even the green and brown beer bottles. Paper and wood is made into pallets to use for cooking and heating! Still more work has to be done, because we humans generate more and more waste, especially in developing countries, where these western standards are not implemented yet.

    Humans and this planet are disposable. Get the fuck over it. We are not special Quit thinking you are just because you have the ability to think. We don't deserve to be here, we must fight for it. To survive we must destroy resources, move on to places where there are more (ie;planets) to further spread what is essentially the seed of human kind so that one day our species can be truly dominant. If you think to survive is to stay here on an earth that is inherently doomed then you are doomed as well

      Nicki Rhododendron Actually that's a fallacy. You see eventually our sun will start expanding and this planet will become uninhabitable, naturally might I add as that is the way of nature(ie quantum mechanics). This planet, this race, these animals, this solar system. Is all doomed. Whether you like it or not. We as a human species and one that is destined to travel space, must accept that planets are planets. Resources are resources. Food is food. Animals are animals. And just because we have high cognition does not make us above the random chaos and Atrophy that is reality. Over 99.999999^% of all that has existed, no longer exists. Suck it up Princess.

    • @nickirhododendron7569
      @nickirhododendron7569 10 лет назад

      ITarantula Eventually the sun might expand and planets might gravitate towards the sun. Yeah? Its not going to happen until billions of years from now. Until then we can sure develop solar energy even if it pisses the oil executioners off. Nothing is doomed. Everything is growing and expanding and proliferating. Humans will travel into space, bring with them solar energy generators and batteries and develop even better ones as time goes by. Humans will also learn that they, too are animals and that they can live in harmony with other species and the planets they live on. There is no chaos because everything is cause and effect. There is no entropy, there is no atrophy and there is no randomness in the eternal universe. Everything is just eternal expansion. Solar energy is right now converted into clean and green usable energy for the whole planet. Elon Musk and other people are in the process of developing this and they have made humongous progress with it.

If she didn't look presentable, there would have been comments about how a nasty tree-hugger shouldn't be telling them what to do with their lives. She is saying we can make small changes and have big outcomes. Stop being negative and open your mind to the idea that saving our world is saving us and every damn ecosystem out there. I agree with much of this, and try to have as small a footprint as I can on the environment. But waste is and has always been a part of our species behaviour. We used to drive entire herds of animals off cliffs, more than we could possibly need or consume. We used to light fires that would rage across immense areas and burn for months or even years, releasing incomprehensible amounts of greenhouse gases. In some ways, our modern efficiencies are better for the environment.

    Cheap to replace, low durability and unnesscesary convience causes disposal. Items lack reusabilty, recycalbility, repairability leads to waste. Misuse, abuse and lack care (not changing the oil for example) also leads to disposal. All it takes is awareness, little thinking and effort - it is what I do in my life.

  • @jodyfeav

    My first thought was how we apply disposability mentality not just to things and material resources but also to people; to our relationships, our marriages, our families. Unhappy in your marriage? Just toss it out and find someone new. Start a new family. We need to take this kind of "mass compassion" of which she speaks and apply it to our relationships as well.

    What you all have to understand is that such an effort takes decades. Today, we have the physical resources and technological means to accomplish any of these things. Unfortunately, very few individuals harbor the psychological viewpoint needed to make such a transition. The Ego must be diffused in each person before they can possibly DO anything at all. Great video, and with enough patience, understanding, and knowledge we will arrive at the goal of Egalitarian unification.
