Just braised everything in the bear fat. Coon can be real good if cleaned and fixed right. I don’t think it taste much luck bear. It is darker type meat so similarities but no more than say bear and beef. If that makes any sense

I have very limited experience bear hunting but yea once bear is jumped seems like in general they tree faster. Doesn’t make Laikas better than hounds in my opinion just different styles of hunting. It was that was Alex’s rifle I personally have a little 44 mag

I have an almost 13 year old Black Mouth Cur that is getting a little long in the tooth. Going with a guy this Saturday up here in Michigan to see how they work.

How old is it? A lot of times they don’t bark a ton when they first get going.

I made a video today I’ll get it edited and put up this Friday. I talk about this a bit in it on one possible scenario. Still plenty young enough to improve at that age. If it is barking some I wouldn’t worry too bad. Just keep it in woods and getting game out to it when it barks. I’ll try to get something out next week or week after and discuss a little more in depth of some possible “fixes”. The unfortunate truth is some dogs no matter what you try they just don’t get there.

Yeah man can’t get here fast enough. I find my productivity at work lacking severely for thinking constantly about getting in the mountains.

I enjoy your videos Alex I have known Darren Petty since before he owned his first Laika, Ivan... He just lost Kilbe unfortunately but I am from Missouri run hounds and curs use to hog hunt a lot but always had at least one or 2 good treedogs also... I have had a lot of health problems last 3 years I haven't hunted much... Darren usually always comes and hunts with me at least once a year, wish I could talk him into moving out here 😂
