Husky (Home Depot) 56" and 72" with adjustable work surface review. The value is unmatched.

Here is my review of the Husky 56" top and bottom combo toolbox and the 72" toolbox with adjustable work surface. If you have any questions, let me know. There are a couple of things I forgot to mention. the cords are all to the right only, so if your plug is to the left, good luck. The cords are only 6 feet. These are 19 gauge steel. They make an 18 gauge model with a stainless top if red is y...

Wierd is spelled incorrectly. It's weird.
How embarrassing for a native speaker to not know this. I mean I'm native in German and I know this.
Waste of server space uploading this.
Probably looking for an address and realized he was at the wrong spot.
Lost, wanting a pee, or looking for an address? Saw something and pulled up to check it out and turned around... so many reasons but hardly acting weird.. I expected him to be naked and crawling on all fours or something lol
What a waste of a video your weird

I bought my 72" Series 3 US General toolbox for $1350 on sale, not only is expandable by adding either a top hutch or toolbox(which im planning) and up to 2 side extensions either 2 of or a mix - side locker or side toolbox(bottom tier only). The 72" US General can hold up to 6,600 lbs of weight on those 4 casters. Thats the main reason why I passed on the Husky, which i actually bought the matte blue moveable wood top 72" last time. Problem is im an industrial mechanic/Millwright and my tools can weigh alot and i need the casters to perform for years in violent amounts of weight applied. The Huskys casters cant do that for me, thats why they added a 3rd set bc even without expanding additional weight with extensions(which it can't), it still needs that 3rd set to carry if fully loaded to max weight allowed capacity. And the 3rd set makes tight turning difficult when trying to pin up against a wall, can be way more time consuming. But for a lightweight type of mechanic this box is great, like I said i have the matte blue, i know its value. But the Series 3 vs Husky, its a hands down win. But husky isnt restocking the old models, maybe they are about to upgrade. And for an actual super value, they just sold out of the 96" husky toolbox on 4 sets of casters for $1,698, now thats a good deal.
Im pretty sure i heard some chuckling ever so slightly 🤣
Not sure if trolling or not 🤔🧑🏽💻
Great review! I can only fine the 56" Model # HOTC5623BB2S (black), do you happen to have the model # for your blue?
It looks like maybe they did away with the matte blue.
I almost got that exact 56 and I end des up thinking the drawer layout was kind of silly with all the thin drawers. And I didn’t like how they stack with just those 2 little brackets. I ended getting a US general series 3 box and topper
Yes I was "the guy". LoL. Great review man.

Found a torn map sensor gasket, so this was worth it, both to encourage people who are afraid of it to do it, and also, because now my car might run better.
😆
Great video and audio quality! What gear do you use to film and record? Cheers!
Galaxy S22 Ultra. Surprisingly good for no editing. Even stabilizes the video to a point.
I put all those boxed tools in a locker
Any idea what the paint color is? Want to add a pegboard back to my 72” blue workbench and it only comes in black, and I wanted to paint to match.
I'd recommend getting the home depot paint counter to scan the color directly from the box, or use a contrasting color. Just wheel one of the unsold boxes to the paint counter to match finish and color.
@@722racing3 Good idea! Thanks
There are many places on Marketplace that buy and resell the damaged boxes from Home Depot...I know of 2...one in Columbus and one in Warren, Ohio...and im sure theres quite a few more...
Great review.. very informative. thank you so much.
Do you think the 56 23 drawer tool box would last on the back on a trailer being pulled around ? I wanna bolt it down and pull it on the back of my work trailer with my air tank and fuel tank . I work in logging forestry
No.
@@722racing3 thanks for the reply
@Anthony James no problem. For that kind of application, look at Sonic Tools, imo. TMI racing in Alton Virginia can help.
@@722racing3 10-4 appreciate it
Neat I had a beat 86 Chevy k20 custom deluxe well used farm truck that had a curt manufacturing receiver trailer hitch
It's absolutely ridiculous that the husky 52" and 56" full width 'socket drawer' has just a single drawer slide. Mine died after less than a year. Been working out of a snap on since. I can use the drawers as steps to reach stuff on top of the upper hutch cabinet. I picked mine up in an 80s Toyota mini truck and it seemed fine to me. We unloaded it with 2 people and a ramp by removing the top box first and then rolling the bottom cabinet down the ramp.
Yeah. The socket drawer now has dual slides, because I have two toolboxes. But its frustrating. They get so much right, but what they get wrong... well... they need a mechanic.
@@722racing3 it depends on the box and the depth of the drawer as to how many slides...the 52" 10 drawer has one slide on each side. plus one under the center which helps the drawer "wiggle"
Speeder handles come in handy more than you think....so it is NOT A JUNK TOOL.....
I mean. I own one. I've used it 4 or 5 times. In 12 years. I'm not saying it's a junk tool, I'm saying it has a specific use or two, so don't buy it as a "I might need this" tool.
Ernst makes the socket boss, excellent organizers! That and the bit boss are awesome to have, super convenient!
Good call. It is Ernst. I'm super impressed even for the (slightly) premium price. It's the best solution I've yet seen. Another option might be 3d printing a mat with your own custom bespoke setup.
@@722racing3 Mantis Tool Grid can give you that but at what price idk. Toolbox widgets are also a solid choice as well as Westling. Personally I have all Ernst organizers and Toolbox widgets.
Great video! I like your philosophy - only buy what you need. I have some tools that I have never used since I purchased them. I’ll be making some organizational changes in my garage in the next few months. I would’ve been more productive today if I knew how important that statement is 5 years ago. I was spending too much money on tools that I did not need and justifying my addiction with a quote that I heard from another youtuber “it’s better to have a tool that you don’t need than not having a tool that you do need.”
My rule of thumb is, at least while working at a shop, but also it applies elsewhere is if you need it once, borrow it or rent it. If you need it twice, consider buying it, and make your best guess. If you need it three times, buy it asap. Thanks for watching!
Impressive numbers off a custom tune and intake, almost 300 wheel horsepower to all wheels and 400+ tq.
I have built motor with twin cone intake and tunes last year. I thought about adding varam for drag strip to improve time. Do you like this system after tune? Do you believe it have you more horsepower after all said and done? I would like your opinion since you have this intake
This is way old. Car's gone 11.82@118.2 on a MN6 gearbox. I can verify on the dyno that it makes a difference, because I hit parts of the table below what I usually hit when going down the track. It's not a bad investment, and the company is awesome to work with. They literally saved my Hot Rod Drag Week 2019, and even though I eventually broke down, I never even would have made the start without Vararam's customer support. Go ahead and get you one.
@@722racing3 thank you for reply I will purchase
Is this a custom tune or just a reflash? If it's a flash, I'd like to send my box out!
Fuck you jake
Slalom much? Good run!
Have 2009 Saab 97x one day while driving heard a clank like something fell off and immediately started stalling and knocking . Never had issue before regular oil changes. No check engine light was on at all . Now it constantly blinks. . I Love this car. Any ideas on what to check?
Becca, what ended up happening to your 97x? I just bought a 5.3l version yesterday and was looking for tuner companies. Curious what was your issue? thx, joe
It sounds bad... I would say that her engine spun a bearing. With the fact that the LH6 LS 5.3 in these suv's are the full aluminum variants meaning the heads and the block are made of aluminum instead of most 5.3's which are iron blocks with alu heads, I'd say that it is either in a junkyard or for sale on craigslist for $1000. A typical 5.3 is a 250k engine on dino juice regular oil. Run a full aluminum 5.3 with mobil 1 and they are easily 300k engines. Keep your fluids clean and use synthetic in every place possible and your 9-7x could be the car that has the most miles of anything you will own in your life. I own a 2007 5.3i 9-7x and its had 3500-4500 mile oil changes with Mobil 1 full synthetic since new. I'd use the extended mileage 20k mile Mobil 1 full syn with a high end oil filter as well and never went over 5000 miles between oil changes. Bought the suv at 52k miles and it has 222k on it at the moment. Not a leak from the untouched engine and it is fast enough to scare people. It is known around my town as a "Fast rig" as I have heard many of my friends call it that. aaaand it is! What I did to keep it in tip top shape and some advice would be...When I first got it, I changed every fluid with a synthetic. At 53k, the factory fluid in the rear diff, transmission, brakes, and transfer case were brown or dirty. I purchased all the fluids myself and had a quick lube center change them all while I watched. I've done them at 52k, 175k and they are all still clean and fresh. I am looking to get 350k out of it at the least. I mean, with the factory upgraded 20" wheel+ wider/thinner tire package on it, it looks better than most new suv's out there. It also has the sportiest/most comfortable ride that you'll find in a suv, is faster than most suv's, has every option on the planet, and can get 18-20 mpg town,25-27 mpg highway. That's when most other 8 cyl suv's get 12-14 town, 16-18 highway. The only upgrades I have done to it is to remove all the mufflers/resonators and installed a magnaflow can at the rear and a K&N filter which I clean OFTEN in the stock intake box. I have not gotten a tune, but with what I did and a tune, 365-375hp is attainable. With a Cam+tune, there is a video here on youtube of 5.3 LS truck making 407HP. But just doing the upgrades I have done lets the engine breathe and the stock 325hp does the job for me. These engines like fresh factory iridium plugs($80-$100) and fresh fuel filters since one of the known problems is clogged injectors. Also NEVER use a injector cleaner unless you have just changed the fuel filter... if you don't, your "Injector" cleaner will clean out your dirty fuel filter and clog injectors.... the ONE time that I had a real issue with my truck was when I did that! ahah. Anyway, hope I could help... Do the maintenance I did and you can have one of the best designed, top of the line and best driving vehicles for a looooong time.
@@supafrancis I'm curious as to if it's possible to gain 50hp on just a tune when you still have factory manifolds and cats? NA engines don't respond to a tune alone like that with factory exhaust. A forced induction engine can gain that with a tune and Intake along with factory exhaust. Just curious where you got those numbers from?
All you have to do is a little research on LS engines.. let me put it this way, there are LS engines that come from the factory with 350 hp. To make that power, the only difference between them and the engine in my 9-7x that makes 325 is a different ecu tune. So take your LS to a real tuner and you can easily get 367-375 hp.
@@supafrancis gotcha. I'm so used to boosted ls engines it's hard to find alot of NA ones being built around my area. Good info thank you.
