I have this camera! I haven’t been able to use it yet since the SD card I got for it didn’t work🥲 what SD card do you recommend?
I have the sd1000 and I would say digi cams don’t replace your phone, it’s just the ccd sensor that gives you an old digital look to your photos. It’s fun to shoot with at events or parties but will never say it’ll replace a professional camera or a newer pro model iPhone. It’s kinda a nostalgic gimmick with digicams no one really talks about.
Batteries tip: if you'd like to use disposable batteries, make sure you're using alkaline batteries! These cameras are so small yet so big ( in performance ) and alkaline is the best for them.
Like watching a dubbed kung fu movie of 1970s. Why put out a substandard RUclips review? This makes it seem like you don’t care about your own end product, we don’t believe your opinion nor care to because the content is about quality, you gave the audience no quality. Having a proper cup in your hand doesn’t change the fact this is crap for us to watch through.
Nice results! Any way to create presets? Doing the entire process each time seems tedious.
@@wintrymix yes, you can actually save the settings as a preset! The only thing I’m finding odd is that, it won’t register the applied “instant400” into the created preset.
I had the predecessor, SX100. 4 years older. It was my 2nd digital camera and the first with so many manual controls. I loved it.

My mom had this camera laying around from when I was younger and I love 2000's photos so I asked her if I could barrow it from her, I'm still learning it's full abilities but I think its beautiful how you took such a standard old tool and made amazing art with it. Just for reference, I am a young adult woman aiming at becoming a photographer in the future, and your video inspired me so much. I often struggle to like and even share my work because I don't have these amazing tools some people have because sadly I don't have much extra money to spend, but after watching this video I think I've found the desire to learn how to use the tools I have and love my art no matter what it was made with. For this I want to say thank you so much for giving your time to allow people to unlock a deeper part of their work, you are an amazing person both as and artist and as a soul.

i still have the Canon A40, it was pretty famous back in time. I own the tele et wide angle too to put on too.

hey im a teen and i wanna buy a digicam, i see this camera used for 60$ usd and the canon sd1000 for 50$ usd and i also see the a720 one for around 65$ usd, which one should i get? also love the content
Great question. If you prioritize portability i recommend the sd1000 but if you want versatility and good grip I recommend the A710/720 because they take AA batteries and it has manual controls. Overall they both have a similar image quality

@@AhnafHossain-rw3pt "retro" is more subjective but to answer your question, all of them do, i personnaly prefer the the A models

Hi, I wish to know if I were to print 10 photos at a got is it possible or do I need to 1 by 1 edit and print? Can I put it on batch and leave it to print?
good question. Yes you can pint multiple photos in one go. On the app, you can select as many photos as you want to print all together

Oh, wow. This is it! My very first digital camera-the Canon PowerShot A710 IS. It taught me so much! I bought it brand new at the start of 2006. This camera alone launched me into the world of photography, where I've been immersed as a portrait and event photographer for, my goodness, 17 years! So many memories. Thank you for this video. It brought back a lot of nostalgia.

I have it, and have a color issue where prints have a green/yellow tint. I tried everything and it's always there
Why does your voice not match the timing in video? Also, the voice sounds like it could be from someone in North America.
Do you know how to clean inner lens of this camera?
Is there any differences in quality when print from Selphy app or SD Card
@@jeffnguyen7345 no there shouldn’t be any difference.
@@just.steeve Glad to hear that, looking for a portable printer. I used to planting in getting an Instax Mini Evo which is an 2 pin 1 (a vintage style cam and a printer), subsequently I noticed that printing from phone is blurrier compared to directly print from the cam 🥹
This printer is money well spent. I use it a lot.

Bro, what am I doing wrong in the settings?😢 The jpeg pictures of camera soft are great. But RAW of chdk is very noisy even after processing in lightroom.
I think that you have your ISO set too high. This camera looks amazing at ISO 80, great at ISO100 but then it goes downhill form there. Personally I shoot 80-90% of the time at ISO 80.
@@just.steeve Could chdk settings and camera settings conflict with each other?
@@Sharlatann No they dont, once CHDK is activated, it operates with the camera, so the software doesnt fight against the original operating system.
My main issue with this printer is the amount of waste generated: the cartridges are a recycling nightmare…
what a shame many people didn't know about canon powershot SX1xx IS series, i think it's ccd digicam masterpiece. I own SX100 is and SX130is ( sx130is is my first camera, bought it in 2011). Still producing great picture.
It can shoot in RAW?
Not out of the box, BUT with CHDK it definitely can. Subscribe as i will release a video on how to do it, in the near future 😉

I edited most of them as they were shot in RAW, but some were straight out of camera, a great example was the first photo of the slideshow
There's a horizontal line 1 cm below the top margin on every print. I've tried with two different printers and cartridges. Am I the only one noticing it? Canon Support didn't give me a proper response.
@@orioldelrio4789 you know, mine has that too, but only for the pack of paper that was sold separately. When I used the test print that came with the printer, they didn’t have that issue🤔
Same here. Changed two printers and used different cartridges. Canon said it should not happen but it looks like a common problem.
YESS! This is so important. Printing puts you into the mindset of always trying to take photos that would look good printed out and adds intentionality. The only part of your video I disagree with is at 5:00 where you said "not everyone can afford to buy themselves a printer", I think it's the opposite, and that everyone viewing this video can't afford NOT to buy themselves a printer! What's more, I've found that this concept of "self-testing/examination" transfers across disciplines - I've recently started learning a musical instrument and recording myself and trying to get that "perfect" rendition was in essence the same "final exam/check of quality" that printing is for photos.
@@yuriythebest I agree, discipline and practice is the best form of improvement. And printing is no different in the process.

I just purchased the exact same model last week, and it is an awsome little high quality printer. It has good dynamic range, colors and tones are mostly accurate. I print family photos, work photos for evaluation, and cards as gifts with it. Highly recommended!

CCD can not handle Full HD, which is why they fell out of fashion.
