I was listening to this episode on Apple Podcasts, and James suggested watching on RUclips to see the hats. I couldn’t find this in any of tabs on your page. I had to search for “retroMaccast man of many hats,” and even then it was the sixth item in the results.
Thanks for sharing your stained glass-collection James! Great stuff! 👍

Wait, before MacBook was Powerbook?
_This is just an over-engineered orange._
Bro
Hello
iPhones come in the worst colors now. Desaturated pastels. Bring back bold candy colors like these
iPhone never came in more colours than it does now, imbecile. Back in the day (before your zoomer ass remembers) an iPhone coming out in white was considered a major feature.
The quality 😂
disgusting
My wife had one of these.
The time restraint on the auctions this time around was funny. :) Great episode as always! Thx guys. Have a good one! 🙂
Thanks! That was fun! I’ll try to look for more in the future.
Память Стиву Джобсу 🕯😔🕯😔🕯😔🕯😔

Who is that guy, who Steve greeting?
I don’t know.
apple think different meanwhile us thinking different about those prices🤣
I never had one but I did have a Vtech kids laptop. Looks similar
Is James brother Leonard Hofstadter look the same 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Back Then before Skinning their MacBooks (even non-Air Models) we have the MacBook that looks like a clam
BLUE LABEL

I really need one holy shit
Good morning! Excellent episode as always guys. Thx James & John! 👍
Thank you!
Why does it look like a cheap and plasticy child's toy?
This is the Nintendo Switch of computers...and it was made in the 1990's! Modern laptops with video outputs made this concept basically obsolete, but still a cool idea
this commercial is so good 😆👍
Shitup
music like from cheap porn.
Ооооо дааааа, реклама ibook в 2024
I have one of these in blue with a grey puck mouse
The red dot that counts up to 40 symbolizes the red dot that appears on icons on your home screen (MacOS, or iOS/iPadOS) when you have a message (see the red dot on the message icon?) or a notification. I think the dot with number of messages/alerts first appeared on the first iPhone/iPod touch.
Airphone
I first used a Macintosh during summer, 1984, after I graduated college, and was a tutor in the college’s “summer gifted program” for high school students. That particular program had bought a bunch of Apple II’s and one Macintosh came with the purchase. No one had any use or particular desire to use the Macintosh, so I got to play a lot during those few weeks.
The iBook looks like Frutiger Aero
RetroMacCast can really be considered part of the Macintosh history. Here’s some fun statistics to make us all feel old: This Podcast is 18… - That is almost half the age of the entire Macintosh line. - The original compact Mac form factor (I’m going with the original Macintosh to the Classic II) was only sold for about 9 years. - There was about 17 years from when the original Mac operating system shipped, until Mac OS 9 was shipped (technically, it was never officially discontinued, if I remember, right…though Apple did have a funeral for it, so I’m going by ship dates). - There was about 18 years between the release of Mac OS X 10.1 Cheetah and macOS 10.15 Catalina. - The “MacBook”, “MacBook Pro”, and “Mac Pro” branding has been in use for about 18 years. - MacBook Air is about 16 years old. - Apple II was sold for about 16 years (from the Apple II to the IIe Platinum). - The iBook laptop brand only lasted about 7 years - iBooks, now called Apple Books, are only 14 years old. - 68k chips were used for about 13 years (starting with the Lisa). - PowerPC chips used for about 12 years. (Is it me, or does the PPC feel like it was the longest?) - Intel chips were used for about 14 years. - The classic iPod was sold for about 13 years (21 years counting the iPod touch). - iPhone is about 17 years old. - The AppleTV is bout 17 years old. - iPad is about 14 years old. - Apple Watch is about 9 yeas old. - Siri is about 13 years old. - The Newton only lasted about 5 years. - The hockey puck mouse didn’t even last 2 full years… [All dates are rough, mostly based on official release and discontinued dates]
Nice job John! Good to see you David! 👏

Happy New Year and welcome back boys! 🎉
