I'm feeling better about the defense than I have for several years. But I'm still scratching my head over the offense and some of the coaching. Mews seemed like he hasn't received any coaching at all with regard to knowing how to catch -- or in some cases to absolutely NOT attempt to catch - a punt! Otherwise, how do you make those two crucial mistakes? Really? Catching the ball on your own 3-yard line? You are right, Parker, Mack jumping offsides on that fourth down deep in their own territory where OU was clearly trying to draw us offsides, was the real killer. How does that happen? Donovan makes some pro throws, but still makes too many boneheaded decisions. Still getting delay of game penalties. Still throwing into double-coverage. I have noted that Donovan is Really slow--and obvious- on the handoff. I think that habit contributed to the safety! Can't allow that to happen under any circumstances. The play-calling was weird in stretches. I get the attempt to get the run game going... after last weeks AWOL unit. But this game just seemed stubbornly pre-planned, whatever the outcome, even as the rushing attack again was pathetic, except for a couple of pops. 1.7 yards per carry won't cut it. Third and four is NOT a running down with our O-line. Meanwhile, the passing attack keeps failing to get the ball to our best athletes. Offense often seemed really dumbed-down and bland. Thanks for what you do.

Much better improved from week 1. Hopefully we continue to get better and eliminate mistakes.

Awesome effort on both sides of the ball tonight! The Coogs went toe to toe with #15 OU on the road in a hostile environment, with four quarters of relentless play. Most people had OU putting up 40+ points, but our defense showed up strong. Sure, mistakes were made and there are adjustments to work on, but considering we’re in a full rebuild with 63 new players and this is only game two after a blowout loss to UNLV last week, tonight was an absolute success in my book. Heck of a fight!

I think they were conservative because they were worried about line holding up BUT i just don’t think Donovan is good enough to read field and find right guy. Also when he does find right guy he also misses the throws when the are there. He’s not a. Accurate passer. His running is the same not good. Soft and no instincts. Unfortunately, I think we don’t have a better option

Donovan waits too long for plays to develop. OL pass protected MUCH better. Run blocking will hopefully get better. Defense played great.

He had 2 years at Tech and 2 years at UH and still he hasn’t proved squat! It’s time to move on and give somebody else a try! What we have to lose? The new guy can’t do any worse than Donovan’s 4-13 record!

OU’s defense is going to absolutely dominate the cougars. There’s no way Houston will win this game. The best thing they can do is slow the Sooners down.

Im a Houston fan, I love our Cougars. But this idea going around "ooo OU upset incoming" not a chance, OU will be damned if they lose to Houston with how we played like shit in Week 1 but I am also aware that is not the same anymore. I think we can do something during our conference games. Keep in mind, we can play a Superbowl time game against OU, and the following Week 3 will be a trap game with Rice, our in-state rival at home and get us for a 2nd time- a loss that would be far worse than the one to OU pending outcome of that game and to UNLV. Houston, you have to produce results the rest of the season going forward. Show us something we can be proud of against OU in Week 2!

You need to recheck the OU roster the WR is Deep and to add Oklahoma has the best home record of any school in the the last 25 years unless it's KSU "damn the Snyder curse" we don't worry about playing at home.
