I've created this channel for a place to save my memorable flights.
Any feedback or tips always welcome as I continue on my journey to get my PPL.

Student MAX crosswind (17kts) landing
After waiting all morning for the winds to come into limits I got to land in my first proper crosswind on R27 at Norwich. The wind was 360/17 (full crosswind).
Personal analysis
I came in a little too hot and high than I would have liked which meant it took a little longer to settle on the runway which I guessed caused me a bit of a headache on the flare. Luckily we have a long runway at Norwich and our parking is off taxiway D at the far end of 27. I probably should have had a little more right aileron on the flare and after touchdown.
Thank you to Steve for the encouragement and I'm looking forward to practicing more of these when the winds allow.

MY FIRST SOLO (PPL) NORWICH AIRPORT.
Просмотров 2 тыс.3 года назад
My first solo circuit (Sep 2021). Excuse the profanity and my chat but talking it through definitely helped with the anxiety of flying solo for the first time. A few mistakes made looking back at this video, for some reason I said out loud there would be a left turn out on the climb knowing full well I was turning right... I also struggled to maintain 1000ft agl on downwind due to not setting t...
lol I can imagine the stress and well done 🎉
Ah ha Steve .. excellent choice
Haha .. that’s the one I flew today
I think that feeling of the nose wheel settling on my first solo still trumps the examiner telling me I’d passed my skills test!
I'd agree also nothing will come close to the feeling of lifting off for the first time on your own!
Congrats on not dying 😂
yes a job well done! haha
Awesome video! I'm thinking of doing a trial lesson at Norwich soon, with a view to doing my PPL if I enjoy it. The instructor seems nice!
Thank you! Do it, it's an amazing experience. Try pick a good weather window. This is Steve, he's great.
@@tompryor_I had an intro flight in G-BMSD this week and loved it!
Which camera are you using? Which method are you using to record the cockpit audio?
A GoPro9 and a GoPro aux adaptor that you can buy from the flight store.
How many hours did it take you to get to this point?
I think roughly 16 hours for the first solo. I did the PPL in 65 hours in the end as was held up with remaining ground school exams which I had neglected.
Amazing, brings back many happy memories. Nice one on completing the solo. 😊
Thank you, it'll be something I'll always remember. Funny looking back at it now with an extra 60 hours in the bag.
