Is it ironic that Greg Eagles voiced Gray Fox (a character seeking death) and later voiced the Grim Reaper (death himself)?

The voice doesn’t match because it’s obviously a black mans voice, and fox is white. The music might fit better but thats it, the voice is totally wrong, also super obvious that its the darpa chief actor

I always loved how Fox doesn't sell having his arm sliced off in the original, he just takes it and carries on. In the Twin Snakes he screams llke a little bitch.

The original’s voice acting, music and overall tone is vastly superior to the remake, shame they weren’t able to use the original performances for this game
In every single way. Leagues better. I think they could've quite easily cleaned up the audio for this version, it hardly would've made much difference.. It just felt kinda soulless when they redubbed everything and added generic music.

that voice acting performance still sounds as badass as it did back in the 90s, still makes me want to tear up, it's so sad gruesome raw brutal and dirty at the same time ! "liberal" japanese to english translation or not, it still remains a timeless classic !! /stands up clapping and weeping at the same freaking time ...

Gray Fox was a prisoner in Outer Heaven when Solid Snake met him so he can't be Venom Snake
Yes but even Venom had his clone {Venoms clone had a shrapnel near The eye}. Venom had both eyes{one blue and one lighter like Grey Fox}

Well done. The redub for this game was lame, 4 or 5 years is too soon for a remake anyway. Hope they can recover the original audio in its best quality for future remakes/remasters.

@Dick Thick'em guess you're right, I can picture how I'd love an MGS remake to be done, but I'd keep all the musical cues and soundtrack the same so there'd probably be no point.. Will just have to use my imagination when replaying the original haha

I always liked the original audio of Liquid. In Twin Snakes when he was like, "But now youre finished!", it held zero comparison to the original, he sounded so pissed in the first, "But now YOURE FINISHED!!" And then of course Gray Fox's iconic death speech... You cant redo something like that...
Agreed, this was my favorite scene just from the dialog along and the Twin Snakes ruined that.

EXACTLY someone on youtube tried to tell me that Cam clarke was better in the Twin snakes, i am SORRY HE SUCKED in the twin snakes and he was overacting alot. In the Original MGS1 he was FANTASTIC and put a lot of emphasis in his voice in certain lines as if he was pissed.
