First look at Kiisu, the Flipper Zero compatible devboard
Looks like this thing is for real, but there are still a few things to sort out.
A bit of a messy vid with a lot of jumpcuts, but I tried shortening it up as much as possible for easy viewing.

Flipper Zero, Firmware One - We're getting a new device soon
Просмотров 1992 месяца назад
How many kitties would a Flipper flip if a Flipper could flip cats? I wonder how much money I paid for the flipping device, and how much of that went into actual firmware development. And with the release of this stable firmware, are we gonna have nice things for Flipper Zero from now on?
Asus Zephyrus G15 cleaning and repaste using Upsiren UX thermal putty
Просмотров 6 тыс.7 месяцев назад
This has been a hellicious learning experience. In the end I used thermal putty for the mosfets and coils, had some around the VRAM (mainly because I was too lazy to clean up at this point) and used MX-4 for the CPU, GPU and VRAM. There was a video where a guy tested some thick thermal pastes, and it seems that the ones which form peaks are good enough for a height of about 1mm. Anything higher...
Suppressing a mind-melting electric kettle

My gf wanted to make the beeping kettle quieter because it was "brain-meltingly loud". My own main concern was that it was making a quiet but constant rhytmic hum when not in use. This mod, if installing a resistor can be called such, fixed both these problems. That's a Gorenje K17TRB by the way.

Unboxing? Why not reboxing?

I've filmed this a while ago and I couldn't think of a reason to upload it, now I've finally came to terms with myself, edited it a bit and there we have it. This is a Uniherts Titan Mini, but who cares! There are more important things in this video. Like, for example I couldn't get the gas from the lighter to go whoosh, and I have no idea why.

I'd love to get one, once they're openly available, seems like not quite there yet from the webpage
Yeah, the web page still got old v3 pics
how to buy ?
There’s a website on the board
I hope this laptop is yours and not someone else’s.
It’s still alive though! Checked the insides to clean out the dust once Got another thermal putty, so probably next repaste is coming in spring (but by then it will be sitting on the shelf for a year, oh well)
interesting product! i hope they can get some sales when it comes to market, and that they can eventually release it as open hardware i think its likely that cfws will write in some stuff for this device if it gets any traction how did you get this early board? are you in contact with the developer?
There were mentions of GitHub “sometime later” (but there were also mentions of “sales in a couple of months time”, and that was in September) so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I was lucky to be in the same chat room. Saw a post, replied something silly like “nice, did you do it yourself?” to the person who posted it, and as it turned out she did :3
You've got a very calming voice bro. Kind of like Bob Ross, but with tech. Thank you! This was super stuff! 🤘
Upsream putty is for replacing thermal pads. On the 2 larger chips you should be using thermal paste like Arctic silver 5.
Thanks for posting this. I'm going through something similar with a 4090 having high hotspot temps and I ordered this putty in case the thermal pads need replacing. It is not easy to find the exact specs and diagrams online and very few go through the trouble fixing thermals let alone measuring. Sorry you had to go through all this but watching it gives me hope that I can be successful as well.
Mantenimiento al detalle 👏🏻
why you talk like a transgender?
What a shit video. Complaining and bitching.
Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, my opinion, man.
Usually the gpu is the easy one to cool but the cpu is the hot one. I used noctua nth2 and the gpu was chill at around 74 degrees but the cpu went up to 100 degrees. I’m gonna try ptm next.
On laptop vram and vrms what to use bro pls tell me I own rog strix g15 For cpu i oredered liquid metal of thermal grizzly for gpu ordered thermal grizzly extreme For vram and vrms what to use som say pad and some paste Can iuse Arctic mx4 for vram and vrms pls reply
Yes you can use Arctic mx4 for the vram and vrms but i would recommend whaever your laptop used for example thermal pads or thermal putty. For thermal pads you have to be careful of the pads thickness.
@@nunoxu9696 its melted can't differnentiate between thermal pad and thermal putty so ordered k5 pro for varm and vrms watched bobofalltrades channel he used same like that and temps for really really low after repasting so i am gonna go with k5 pro for vramand vrms
i liked this video. I loved the Open Hardware Monitor software, I dindt know it existed.
bro you just downgrade from liquid metal to regular thermal paste.
Bro , he did the right thing. It is not worth the risk to use liquid metal for 3-4 degrees. You risk fucking up your entire machine. Better go with thermalpaste or thermalpad.
@@Chronox2k4 Chill bro, I'm not saying he's wrong. I'm just saying that he downgraded his thermal paste.
How many grams did you use?
Yeah, UX Pro is a little stiff compared to other options. The current best putties are Honeywell HT10000, Upsiren UTP-8, Fehonda LTP81 and Laird T-Putty 607, although I suspect Laird T-Putty 910 will be right up there with Honeywell HT10000, just hard to get T-Putty 910 currently as it is fairly new. UX Pro does work well in Videocards, but is too expensive if you ask me, and UTP-8 is slightly better, much softer, and much cheaper.
Love your videos man, incredibly detailed and thoroughly researched.
Please do some updated vids of new best putty
@steezegod2768 Will try to make dedicated videos from some more putties. I've got streams of them all so folks can see what they look like for application. The result charts are located at the Google Drive link in my video descriptions (Test Chart Repository >VRAM TIM<ETCHASH).
@@snarksdomain Do these putties dry out and degrade cooling performance over time, just like the pads? I'm looking for a permanent solution so that I don't have to open up my GPU constantly.
@@user-f1ff23 The depends on the quality of the Silicone OIl used as the carrier fluid. Some are better than others. The Putty that set the bar high so far has been TG-PP10 (Discontinued). Many of these other putties are much newer so we don't have great long term data on them yet. Honeywell HT10000 is good for at least 2 years so far (from what Eugeney_KH told me of his customers' experiences). Upsiren UX Pro Ultra was still soft for me after 16.5 months in my laptop. TG-PP10 was soft after 2.5 years use in my 3090 with Copper shims. We should have an idea over the coming years as to which ones can match the longevity of TG-PP10. That being said, even once putty does stiffen it should still transfer heat okay. The trick is to pair it with something on the core that will last just as long, and for that I recommend Honeywell PTM7950 or similar PCM.
Thermalpad 0,5mm, thermal paste grizzly kryonaut extreme 14,2W/mk best paste for GPU
just use k5 pro, its the closest thing you can get to the factory blue stuff, for cpu use liquid metal and for gpu use MX6. MX4 is ok but it doesn't last that long on bare cpu/gpu die's as it pumps out due to its low viscosity.
There are a million better putties than k5 pro. This person has done significantly more research than yourself.
@@danielphillips1171 on this particular laptop k5 pro works the best, its the closest you're going to get to the stock blue stuff Asus uses. most users eho get bad results either use too much off it or too less. there is a perfect balance and it works really well paired with Conductonaut for CPU and MX6 for GPU.
Factory blue stuff Is laird 607
K5 pro K>5,3 W/m.K vs UPSIREN UX Ultra PRO 16.8W/MK 😉😉😉😉😉
@@pvim You want her to use a worst thermally conductive paste? That's nonsense, she did great research, and execution (while having to redo it) shows excellent results. Downvoting that opinion fs.

Where did you purchase this from though?
I am also having issues with zephyrus m16. I should replace all cooling components. I am thinking replacing with 0.5 thermal pads. This is not user friendly at all from Asus.. Thanks for trying out! What happened actually when you launched with pads? did it turned off or temps were too high?
the gpu got too hot and shut off the computer due to making zero contact with the heatsink. the thermal pads were too thick. it's easier to just use paste on the vrms.
Thanks for making this video, I think it's fair to say this is quite a niche product and it's nice to see someone talking about it. I will probably pass for now, but I will be keeping an eye on the Pine products for sure! Love the idea of community-driven firmware
i like the black cover

My Flipper Zero has died. I had it for about one year, scarcely used. I updated with custom but it was behaving a bit weird so I reinstalled with the official again and then it just died. It doesn't turn on and DFU mode does not work either. So I guess it is not about battery or damage in any other way... any ideas? I'll take it apart and check the battery, other than that I don't know... O_x
Did the same thing showing my kids,,love it,month later my son build me a cc1101 ,fatc that it look plaster job..but man it works like a charm ,ask how he did it n say I follow you,and added something new..finally something I can control when ever i want,, not!y fault that cybersercry can't be a!art enough to figure when u build something there's always a flaw..Other project use wifi sigma wit out connection or pass word, I can used any wifi free,, beautiful other is wifi is everywhere, but no password nothin can be done ,but lil signal Wii sends out a signal to let u know wifi is near that lil signal can amplify and use it to log in..sorry but not on GitHub,work in progress and getting better..pretty soon u will have to connect to any wifi...have fun...
How can i get this in india
Can someone please help me? When taking the back apart, I accidentally stripped the screws so I had to break the back shell off and while doing that I accidentally broke the back pins, am I able to reattach those somehow? Maybe heating up bottom of the pin and reattching it? The pins came of very cleanly, so I assume this is possible?
Solid video!
Trenton’s comment was deleted. So I’ll repost. Be careful. Watch at 5:50. You just about break a clip. This is not proper disassembly. I don’t want anyone to hurt their dolphin toy. Especially SE Black. 😢 I just missed the limited clear proto flippers. It cool tho. TAKE EVERYTHING APART. ALL OF IT. ITS YOURS. just be careful and don’t break clips homies.
Care to share where you got the strap from? Looks kind of handy not just for a flipper but for some other things I could really use a quick release strap on.
I broke it 😢

What are some of the benefits of being able to flash open source firmware on earbuds? I would love to see a project that works on more repairable earbuds I guess someone has built repairable cases for the airpods
I’d say that open source firmware mods are usually better than stock in ways that they fix the problems that the original devs left behind (that is when they’re mature enough, for now I’m staying on stock). That, or maybe if you enjoy tinkering yourself. Repairability is great but it seems that the smaller something is the smaller are the chances of it being repairable.
Where can I get one of those beautiful wrist straps?
I just learned about these, was searching for reviews, and found yours and 2 others. I'm glad you think they sound kind of impressive, and it seems there's no extraordinary setup involved vs any commercial bluetooth earbuds. Yay Open Source! (P.S. I'm also thinking about the PineTab. Any thoughts?)
Yay! (No idea what to do with a tablet so no thoughts)
Thank you for your video
Or just use your nails
how did u get a black flipper zero?

Hi I have a dumb question my flipper zero has an SD card mount problem, whenever I try to insert the SD card it flashes a SD card mount error problem and I have tried different ways to mount it. Yet when I just barely just insert the SD card the flipoet zero says I should take a red pill and chill and it seems to work fine until I try and Click the card into place where again is flashes the mount error priblem is there any way to fix this problem and save the data it already has on the card? it is very frustrating. 🙁
Heya, assuming you’ve tried another SD card and it behaves in the exact same way, it sounds like a hardware problem. What caused this problem? No idea, my device will only start detecting the SD card when it’s pushed into the slot past the body. Since you mention saving data I’ll assume it worked some time ago and now it doesn’t. Did something happen inbetween? Could there be dirt inside the SD slot?
Is your micro SD card formatted correctly to exfat or fat32

Are you able to take off the speaker board without needing to spilt the 2 sides (the side with the screen, and the side with the buttons) I need to replace my speaker but don’t want to risk breaking it so much
Yes, actually the speaker is on the separate smallish ibutton PCB. The one with the thin flex cable, long pins and the IR diodes.
Salad fingers anyone.. or rusty spoons
Looking for some insight, I opened mine but it was slightly difficult than usual and the result was those small antennas/pins (GPIO 17 for ibutton I think came off ) is it a simple solder or some type of glue?
The little springy thingies? They should be soldered to the small pcb and they need to be conductive for the ibutton stuff to work.
Do you think that LCD can be replaced? my LCD broke completly. I am able to use it only with PC.
Replacing it shouldn’t be too hard, but getting a screen that works might be. AFAIK they’re still not selling any replacement parts, and the screens were ordered specifically in bulk. You should totally poke their support though to show that there’s demand for things like screens and batteries. If you get your hands on a replacement screen you might need a soldering iron to to de-solder the old one at two points (I think they’re not only holding it in place but supplying power to the backlight as well). Also it might be just glued to the backlight part somehow, not sure about that. The flat flex cable is easy to disconnect and reconnect. P.S. the screen PN is ERC12864FAMF03-1-S7 by EastRising.
@@agathakazar Thanks alot for your reply. if i know pins or model number, my be i can search on Ebay. It should be standard screen. and ebay if full with rresbari Pi and other etc screens. What you say ?
