Hello Steve, have been following you and your problem. I have the same problem with my JD-310B, replaced the o-ring about 3 weeks ago and was using it to clear tree roots from our hurricane beryl we had a few weeks ago and it was idling and heard a hissing noise, looked around and oil was squirting everywhere. So back to the drawing board. You mentioned you had added shims and then blew a hyd hose, so took shims back out. Mine had 6 shim washers, so I removed 3 and just got it back together today so will crank it up in the morning while it is cooler to see what happens. Thanks for making the video. My light came on. I didn’t know what was going on so I made the 45 minute trip back to the house can’t find anything wrong. After watching the video I figured out it is my front brake. I Bought the bike used with no owners manual. I’ll 2:50 to tighten up the lever later as it is now I have to push it close with backside of my fingers.

Just so you know if your hydraulics seem slow or low on power. I found there is a screen in the bottom of the transmission where the little short back rubber line runs from bottom of transmission over the hydraulic filter. Little bit of a job to get out but it's worth pulling that screen out and cleaning. Most people don't even know about the screen in there. Hope it helps if your having hydraulic problems.

Have three 05 and 07 in South Africa dirt bike heaven. All family ridden for over 60,000 miles each, never an issue mechanically given proper maintenance, oil,air filters. The bikes are fantastic. Do not listen to the ass holes who review bikes they must find something wrong just to justify their existance. Today power is fuel mileage the 650 has sufficient power and speed to put you in a us jail for long time. Also have an unreliable bmw gs1200 2017. Touted as a premium bike, trust me ride it with while carrying your wallet, do not go far from home, carry a cel and phone for pickup. Also own a bmw 1984 r100rs air head, the last of on the road repairable BMWs. All my views, sorry bmw, cheers Suzuki.

Mate, Hello from NZ. I have a 2010 not sure if it is gen 1 or 2. doesnt matter, love it. I agree with every word you said. I got mine off a 74 year old who had velco straps to hold his walking stick! Bike had got too heavy for him as he had dropped it in the driveway 3 times in a week. With a tear in his eye he sold it to me. I asked "are you giving up riding" he said "hell no I am off to buy the little brother, the 250 cc , do you want to come with me for a running in ride?" ( 500 km 1 day trip) There is hope for us all.

I've got a 3/8" drive extension set with a T40 torx security bit from the bottom as you describe, super awkward with my fat hands still. Got one screw almost about to fall out (how do you easily pop the last bit out). But I can't for the life of me get the one of the left side of the bike loose. Any tips. Am I missing anything obvious? Thanks for the great video, can't wait to finally fix my sticky lock and be able to use the steering lock again. Beautiful T3 series? I just want to chime in and say that the painting process on these early/ first gen Hinckley bikes took a laboring 14 hours to complete? A process that not even the T5 series and beyond had? The original T3 series Triumphs were over-engineered and so immaculately assembled because John Bloor ( company owner) didn't want to take any chances with these new generation Triumphs not being up to standards to compete with other motorcycle manufacturers, so they went above and beyond with the build quality and high quality paint processing? I own a 95' T309 ( Speed Triple 900) in Diablo Black, and have owned since brand new....the paint on the bike looks just as shiny and rich as it did when I purchased it..... especially after a wash and detail! A very rare find you got there...congrats🎉

Hi Steve, bit late but........... The 2012 Fatbob has the very same problem. After chasing advice how to rectify that ' hand brake light' coming on I was told to do as you have illustrated. All good except it keeps happening. Originally the techy at Gasoline Alley did the spray trick and worked the billy-o out of the lever, back & forth. Did the job but, like the old cat it came back. If this hapens midst a ride, while riding and very cautiously, I push the lever forward and usually the light goes out. More spray and excercise the lever when I stop or get home. Those switches for that model can be replaced and will, be aware, usually stuff up again. Hope it helps. Knees in the breeze.⁵😮

My V strom is my daily commuter to work. It’s a bit big, a bit heavy through traffic , but it can do a bit of everything.
