Testing the 0 to 60 time in a 2010 Hyundai Genesis with the 4.6 V8. This is about 3/4 throttle, yes the car had some more power left but not much. Not to bad for such a big car. This was shot on a race track i do not endorse or condone street racing. Please drive safe, and always wear your seat belt.

Was that 9 seconds to get to 60??
Honestly it doesn’t seem that slow to me. Its got enough torque. I think the trans holds it back tho
Oof
I love the gauges
It’ll get there, just give it sometime!
My grandma has one of these the steering feel is great but the engine is underpowered but it's fun in the way more that you can gun it for a good 5 seconds and not be going over the speed limit
Why does this cute ute sound great at 6000rpm 😆
Slow af
it's not meant to be fast lol
Pretty impressive for a base economy sedan
I feel like thats pretty empressive for a cheap stock family sedan...
37 US MPG highway, or even better as some people are reporting. All worth it to me
Lol I have this car, it’s slow af but fun to drive 🤷🏻♂️
Is this with 2.4 MPI or GDI engine?
i got bored before 60
Love the fiat I mean jeep
It's strange how anyone would not agree that the car is slow! A car of this size with 2.4 liter engine has to be quicker.
Why is it so slow despite the relatively big engine (2.4)??
too me it’s old and behind ..cheap burns oil
@@rayyfendi such a disappointment !
It doesn’t have a turbo. It also pauses between shifts to make it shift smoother.
The car is heavy and the engine hesitates like mad.
25 mph. *25* . That's schoolzone territory smh
15-65
I don’t understand why Hyundai makes this big Suv but they only give it two engine options that are under powered 4 cylinders I mean come on they should at least put in the 3.3 or the 3.8 V6 for a car this size
It's come with 3.5L V6. But in usa they offer 4 cylinder only
Soon all the cars from the USA will have small engines, like in Europe.
Oooof... THAT is *SLOW*
go get a cayenne
No good. 2.4 Theta II keeps blowing up because well...not well suited to such a vehicle.
Mine blew up a few days ago with 89,000 miles, luckily the engine still has an extended warranty
Hyundai should have offered this with a naturally aspirated V6 or another 4 cylinder turbo as a 2nd engine option other than the 2.0T. They should have just left the 2.4L, in the smaller Tuscon.
I got a 2011 with the 3.5 things got some pickup for an suv
They really need to put the new larger 2.5 in these heavy SUV's as they need all the help they can get!
They sell a 2.5 turbo, 281hp
@@helloworld6160 Yes but the DCT or "dual clutch" transmission is VERY unreliable. As they are constantly hunting for the right gear in stop and go traffic. Kia tried this a few years ago putting one in their Sportage model and it was nothing but trouble...!!! Hyundai killed a great turbo engine in the new Santa Fe mating it too a DCT. I'd stick with the naturally aspirated 2.5 and 8 speed auto. Putting out 191hp that should prove more reliable, not have any turbo lag issues, or transmission issues.
Jesus Christ those gauges are ugly. What the hell was Hyundai on.
I love them, Honda has the same ones, they're not bad.
@@brianlee4629 I just find the design hideous. The pre-facelifted and last gen Hyundais looked soo good, but these new ones look like a downgrade. The Elantras, Sonatas, and Santa Fes all looked soo much better previously, the new ones are ugly. What Honda models have these style gauges?
@@LimiitedChans Passport, Pilot, Odyssey, etc.
@@LimiitedChans no they look bette
I have the turbo Kona! That thing can giddy up and go! Though it’s a bit smaller than this lol. How do you like your Santa Fe???
Corey Dunlap I only drove it for a few days. The interior was comfortable but not up to par on what they were asking. Would I be okay if it was my daily driver?... ehhh yes. But I also wouldn’t pay for that. I’ve never driven a Kona so take what I say with less than a grain of salt but at that price point I would look into a soul turbo/ veloster turbo. But also I have no family/ animals so as far as I go I don’t need as much space as the Kona is offering
sidedelsol Sorry, but how was the interior “but up to par”? I’ve driven the Santa Fe, along with a few of its competitors, and the Santa Fe blows all of them away. The power isn’t even as bad as you’re making it out to be, I rented a 2.4, and it had enough get up and go, and I never felt as if it was slow.
Still can’t believe they are still putting a 4cyl in this. It’s not efficient enough for everyday get up and go. Bout blew out the engine on a couple for these just “DX”ing them from one dealership to the next.
Bret Warrington eh. At the end of the day most people who are buying/ driving these I don’t see them racing to the next stop light. As a commuter it’s not bad. Would I like to see a little more power outa a SUV yes but that’s me. But that being said most people aren’t running these to red line on the regular. But also that’s the world we live in.
shouldn’t this be a 5 second 0-60 time? that seemed a lil slow for a 3.5 v6
Scary Terry I want to say the TLX is somewhere around the low 6 second mark for 0-60. It’s a very nice looking car and sounds really nice but it’s not anything too crazy. It definitely performs well for a family car
Mine will do 60 between 5.5-6
sidedelsol is this the Aspec model ?
Tanner Willis aspec ?
Cool!
9 seconds. About what you'd expect from a fat underpowered crossover.
this has to be the slowest car ever
..no. Not even close.
if you wanna see one of the slowest, look up a 1980's non-turbo diesel vw van
No. By modern standards it’s pretty quick compared to other vehicles. Toyota CH-R is probably one of the slowest production cars made today.
😂😂
WTF SO SLOW
Can't tell if it's the driver or the car but I aged like a year and half, during that second shift ...
Zorn Casteel it’s the car for sure. Drove one yesterday in manual mode and when you shift up it takes forever. Only thing stopping me from getting a Renegade is how sluggish they are.
It's the car, I own one and it's sluggish. Still love it though
Well then I don't understand. That motor is not completely without power. ... I don't get it. Anyway my friend she was looking at one of those, and a Compass .. - She ended up with a Buick Encore GX!!
Yeah this isn't slow ... Speed anyway isn't the point of any of this class of vehicle, made. .. These are excellent all-around SUVs ... And Jeep has really stepped up their interiors.
the renegade is a little shit box
No they're an EXCELLENT small suv ... And everyone I know, who has one says it's very reliable.
@@analystzorncasteel3047 Reliable? Dude it’s a Fiat 500X with Jeep badges.
@@smr0m670 You fall for dumb rumors, that aren't true. ... The motor is Chrysler-Dodge. I happen to KNOW the guy (a main one) who worked on it.
@@smr0m670 ... So there is a bit of Fiat, in the architecture - But the car is a Chrysler-Jeep.
I’ve driven a co workers renegade a few times, doesn’t have very much pick up at all and always wondered how quick it was 0-60. My guess was right, it’s slow!
I’ll stick with my 13” Sonata 😁 has enough power and pick up for me.
Compared to what? Plenty of current vehicles slower, than these go.
agree on the slow side for a modern vehicle in north america, but as long as they can safely merge it's enough power, i started driving in the early nineties, and this jeep"fiat panda" is a lot quicker than many of the cars and just about every pickup i drove then. the first car i drove regularly was a 1980 ford faimont with a 200ci inline six, 0-60 was about 15 seconds, and there were plenty slower than that back then
@@austinjordan7539 dude the sonata isn't quicker. Paper lies. I've got a 2020 renegade sport and my brother has a 2020 sonata with the 2.5. We Stayed side by side until we both let off at 90. Multiple times.
Slow car. My focus and Camry would both smoke this shitty box car.
Why is it revving so slow? Mine fucking rips
9.8 sec
You just destroyed the guy on the powertune website using a challenger R/T
10sec 0-60 not a sports car for sure!!!
But you have to take onto consideration this is an offroad car, not a track car and not the most aero car and not the lightest car either and it's only 18k car, 10/10 way more for the price, can't beat it
matteo hernandez wtf....
@@matteohernandez2035 Dude my 13 year old Silverado (Z71 off-road, I might add) does 0-60 in 7.5 seconds. Great job Jeep 😅
Again, Good... :)
Good... :)
Josh Galka thank you sir
not bad
Actually, it's a 9 speeder, not an 8 speed.
J.B. The Car Fanatic hahaha I know someone let me know it was a 9 speed a few days ago and I keep forgetting to change that. lol. Thank you for the reminder im going to fix that now. ps. thank you for the feedback.
sidedelsol yea i have a 2017 its a fun little jeep
not a bad run but those shifts are very muchy
occckid123 the lag from 2nd to 3rd was so bad, the transmission can be almost unresponsive some times when using the sport shifter
+sidedelsol yea I see but I think the lag from 2nd to 3rd was more because you over rev it lol
occckid123 hahahahahaha I honestly wouldn't doubt it! Not going to lie its a fun little jeep though!
just rewatched....im usaully between 2k and 3k when i get the car up to 65 on the freeway....Ive gotten the car up to 110 without passing 5k but suddenly remembered what a smashed car looks like, and slowed down :P
My 1995 infiniti G20 can do that too....although, the lights dont come on like that. I need new spark plugs soon, but other than that the car is in really good shape. I had a feul injector replaced at 200,000 miles. But the car hasnt really needed anything else as far as major repairs go. I love this car. Im currently at 203,000 miles with a manuel transmission. I wouldnt mind trying to find another infiniti after this one dies.
Cherie Heard We have a 95 with only 50000 miles on it, it has been my wife's daily driver for over the past 4 years we bought it form an elderly couple who no longer could drive it only had 27000 on it when we bought it. We are looking to sell it. Please msg me if you are interested. Thanks, Greg & Kim
damn! u can rev up to 6k rpms with that miles. my 97 maxima has 131k and I step on the gas and can only go up to 2k rpm.. it idles smooth but when i step on that gas.. it just wont get past 2k
To be honest I was really surprised it could even get up to 5k rpm. Have you tried a basic tune up? (Plugs, wires, air filter, oil/oil filter) might help your car out.
nope I have not got a tune up, I went to valvoline oil change but they said they dont do those services.. So where else Could i get that done? I have the $ to do it. Also did u record this video after u did the basic tune up or what? mine drives just fine, no weird noises or anything. I just want it to be able to step on the gas and let the car go.
Pokemonguy16RS I never got a chance to work on it (this video was before any work was done) basic tune ups are pretty easy if you know where yo look. My grandpa had me change the oil on his van when I was super young and then i went from there. If you want to try and work on the car your self you can always go to a auto part store of your liking and pick up all the parts and tools needed, they also usually have in stock a complete tear down and rebuild of manuals for your car. If not they car always be ordered. Then you can turn to youtube and just type in <your cars year make model> oil change/tune up. Check the videos to see what pops up and what helps you out the most. If you're not comfortable doing the work your self just yet call a tires plus/tires choice/ Goodyear or some other type of place (not sure where you live or what you have around you) now this .ca be expensive and they may try to up sell you things you dont want or need just yet so be cautious of that. Or if you'd like to take it to the next level talk it to a actual dealer (maybe the most expensive way to go but they will use all OEM parts on your car)
well if this was before u got a tune up, im surprised u were able to rev it to 7k rpm. how long did u have the car? but yeah I do need to a tune up as it looks.. My car just does not seem happy and wont rev past 2k RPM :( drives nice, just wont go.
