Dream
They say dream big
But somewhere along the line we forgot how to dream
Like our favourite childhood blanket,
ragged and slowly worn down, eventually riiiipped…at the seam, Something inside US was broken.
And after all those times of feeling shut down and shut out, We closed that part of ourselves, refusing to let it reopen.
……
We told ourselves that our dreams were not worthy of our words.
So we buried them.
pushed them into the bottoms of boxes, locked them up in dark corners of closets
