Enchanted Princess Ship Review
In September 2024 we took our second cruise to Canada and New England with Princess Cruises on the Enchanted Princess! This was our first time on the Enchanted Princess and she did NOT disappoint! The Enchanted Princess had her first sailing in 2021, so this was by far the newest ship we have ever cruised on and it totally showed. From the finishes to the color choices this ship was welcoming and elegant. We loved how much thought was put into the overall layout of the ship with plenty of places to relax, indoors and out. We never felt crowded and no matter where we were, we could always fine a nice place to enjoy. We ate almost exclusively at the buffet and can easily say this is the bes...

2024 Year in Review

We're thankful to have enjoyed a great year traveling as a family in 2024! We started the year with an unexpected trip to the West Coast where we spent a week in California visiting family, and then another week exploring the Oregon Coast near where we used to live. A few months later we enjoyed our 3rd cruise to Alaska with Holland America and loved it just as much as as before; even with with...
Year End Trip to Aquarium at the Boardwalk in Branson!

When we're not cruising we love to road trip as a family! We recently took a long weekend to Branson, Missouri which brought us to the Aquarium at the Boardwalk. If we can't see the ocean animals from a cruise ship, an aquarium is the next best option ;) A trip to the aquarium starts by taking a souvenir photo, and then a quick ride on the 5D Submarine Adventure. From there you browse through s...

After 5 days of ports and a TON of walking, today we're enjoying our day at sea on the Enchanted Princess! We started our morning off with breakfast a the buffet with lots of pastries available. We got an amazing surprise when a few dolphins decided to play in the waves just off the front of the ship! We are definitely glad we took the risk with the front obstructed balcony because we had some ...

Our last day on the Enchanted Princess brings us to an old favorite, Portland, Maine! After breakfast we went through the customs process since we were technically returning to the US after going abroad. Once we were cleared to be back on US soil we made our way through the port terminal and thankfully found a taxi waiting! There were several taxi's lined up on the curb with set amounts per hou...

Cruise day 5 brings us to Saint John, Canada! So far we've had an amazing time on our Canada & New England cruise abord the Enchanted Princess! We walked from the cruise port up to the Saint John City Market, which is the oldest continuously operated farmer's market in Canada, dating back to 1785! One of the coolest things about this city market is the way it was built. If you look up the roof ...

Day 4 of our Canada & New England Cruise on the Enchanted Princess brings us to Bar Harbor, Maine! We've been to Bar Harbor a few times and have always loved when we visit. We start the day by watching the first sunrise from US soil and enjoy the natural beauty of the New England fall. Bar Harbor is a small port so the ship is anchored in the bay and we tender boat in. On day 3 of our Canada and New England cruise we visited Boston! The cruise docks at the Flynn Cruiseport which is about 2 miles from downtown so we opted to grab an Uber and be dropped off at the Christopher Columbus Park. From there we spend the next 2 hours walking around Boston, enjoying the city in the sunshine! We take a quick walk through Quincy Market, grab some coffee, take a moment to...

Hi thanks for the video.we are going in august on a 14 day on enchanted.Do you happen to know what the retreat pool is all about?I see it is adult only but does it cost ertra? Did the people waiting for specialty dining have reservations ? Thanks for any help
We had my son so we didn’t use the retreat pool but I looked up online that it’s free and no reservations ( adult only). If you google it you can see a lot of pictures also and some information other users have added. Here is what some others have said regarding same question you had boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/3018542-enchanted-princess-retreat-pool-area/
Looking at this ship for Canada/New England from NYC at the end of August, appreciate the review! When was your cruise? We are hoping there would be more than 5 kids teens onboard lol.
There was a lot more than 5 teens when we went but for my sons age there was a lot less at least in the kids club. We went first week of October so I have no doubt you will have no problems with a lot of teens going at the end of August.
Going on this ship in April in Caribbean! Thanks for video
@@ryangreen7842 Awesome hope you have an amazing time! We would definitely like to take this ship to the Caribbean:)
How much the Uber to Quincy Market? WE will cruise there soon! Thanks!
@@nganguyen-ug6oc it was between $14-$16 to Uber into Boston Quincy Market from the cruise Terminal:) have a great time!
Did You try Lobsters in Canada? Thanks
We actually usually get Lobster in Bar Harbor, Portland or Boston but you can also in Canada if you want. The cruise ships usually have some for one of the formal nights also!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this ship! I'm going on it this summer...it will be our first time on Princess.
You will have a great time! It’s a fun ship! Princess is really great also!
Never take for granted fast elevators!
@@aimeemetzger True story! Thanks for watching ;)
Looks beautiful! 🤩
How was the motion? We have this exact cabin in the Caribbean in May.
The motion wasn’t bad at all to be honest. We really enjoyed this room and lido being on the same deck was great also because you didn’t have to use an elevator to eat :)
As senior citizens, we have booked excursions at almost every port, yet had enough time to get lobster 🦞 at almost every port .
Awesome! It’s a very underrated cruise and we loved it! We’ve been twice and who knows could always do it again :)
Thanks!Would you please to share how much it cost lobsters and claim soup?We will cruise in September !
It definitely depends on where you get them. Every port will have lobster and clam chowder etc Whole lobsters are usually depending on the current price per pound which right now could be 35-70$ per whole lobster if it’s cooked etc but lobster rolls tend to be $20-40 each. Clam chowder can be $8-25 depending on where you get it. The cruise ships tend to have a lobster night in the main dining and it usually is free that night
How was the wind? And did you notice any noise from the vista lounge from below
Honestly it was super quiet and the wind wasn’t bad at all. I was very surprised!
You guys did a great job on last years cruise! You helped us decide on booking it for 2025 on the Enchanted!
We loved the Enchanted Princess and you will have an amazing time! We will have a short review of the ship in the coming days thanks for watching!
Was it cold or raining in May?
@@sammychem5920 It was between 45-60 every day with some rain and fog.
Thank you for this information to consider. I am looking at this cruise route for me & my Mom so I think it sounds perfect except for all the walking. I will just need to plan Uber rides for us in the event she doesn’t feel like walking. Very helpful, thank you!
If you like a lot of ports & like New England this is a really fun cruise! We went again about a month ago if you wanted to see updated content. I hope you have an amazing trip and thanks for watching:)
The city of St John's has a city bus tour which takes you through different parts of the city and makes a stop at the City Market and the reversing rapids. The tour lasts for 2 hours. Not sure of the price but I think it is 40 dollars Canadian and 35 dollars American.
@@GeorgeGuyette-y5c Great information George thanks for it!
Amazing you went through boarding so fast. We did Enchanted out of Brooklyn on August 31. It was a 2 hour boarding at the terminal. Crazy. People couldn’t get out of line to go potty awful. Plus we skipped Rhode Island & went to Eastport Maine ( princess’s first time going to this port). They weren’t prepared. Couldn’t handle all the people who wanted to eat Lobster. 2 hour wait to get back on tender. Looks like your experience was better.
Wow I’m sorry you had a different process :( Cruises definitely vary as we did an MSC cruise last year and it was very difficult but then a few weeks later people did the same cruise and everything went smooth and perfect. I hope your next cruise goes smooth and thanks for watching!
This is my home city! It's got so much history and beautiful places to explore, I'm still not done😂 And the waterfront is complete. There r still some things to do, but mainly buildings. The new path is really nice too! My dream is to sell my stuff at that 506 container village!😊 one day! I'm glad you all enjoyed your trip to SJ! Next time youre in town, hit me up and ill take you all on a day trip💜
@@Jhogg333 it’s a beautiful city and we love it! Would be awesome if next time we go there we see you selling at container 506 :) Thanks for watching
Thank you for your video. We are cruising in July 2025. I can’t wait!
Oh how exciting! You will have a great time!
Great video. We were on the HAL Nieuw Amsterdam and Celebrity Solstice last month. I would agree with you for the most part. The one advantage of the buffet setup is that you get your food and sit down and the staff serves you your beverages. I never had problems finding a seat and could take my plate into the pool area or the back of the ship. On the Solstice, it was hard to ever find a seat and then you had to get your plate, your beverages and your silverware. There was so much cutting in line and the lines were long
Yeah long lines are never fun. We did the Enchanted Princess a few weeks ago and there was never lines and tons of seating. I’m starting to think that was because there was tons of specialty restaurants on board and therefore less people in the buffet:) So we may be more strategic on picking ships in the future to make sure they have a lot of specialty restaurants ;) Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
Looking really nice. Thanks you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your cruise scene here.😊
It was a great cruise :) I’ve been posting the videos of the cruise on our page if you ever wanted to watch them as well. Thanks for watching and have a great day!

Did you guys sail out of New York City?
We sailed out of the Brooklyn cruise terminal:) I posted a video the other day on our page if you would like to see it.
@@Seek.Find.Travel thanks for the response. We sailed out of Brooklyn cruise terminal on the Island Princess back in June of this year. I’m based out of San Francisco and unfortunately, Princess tends to send their older ships out of San Francisco. I’ve been seeing a lot of videos on the Enchanted and would love to sail on her someday. Hope you guys are enjoying your cruise. God bless.
@@domtam6571 Yeah we sailed on the Emerald Princess last year and it’s a little older but we still enjoyed it. The Enchanted Princess was a lot better and the newest ship we’ve been on so far. We were surprised by so much extra space on the newer ship as it definitely changed our minds on being on ships that are a little bigger. Thanks for watching

We had the same situation with that light on our Alaska cruise on Princess a few weeks ago. Would masking tape be a good thing to bring on the next cruise so that you had the light 60 percent covered ? I think that is what I will bring along next time.
@@barbkugler7568 yes either bring some masking tape or ask the person that cleans your room if you can borrow some :) we put a piece of paper over the light motion detector and taped it down and now have no problems with the light turning on ;)
Painters tape over the sensor. Works well.
@@kathleencolonna9347 that’s a great idea !
I agree about the light. Make sure you mention it in your survey.
What rat hole of a ship is this?
Was your access to the balcony ever restricted due to wind?
So far we haven’t had any issues. We’ve had access to the balcony at any point without restriction.
The forward facing balcony is very cool! Was there an extra cost or was it the same as a standard balcony? On most ships for example, aft facing balconies are a lot more expensive than standard balconies. Thanks for the room tour and balcony shots!
They consider this obstructive view so it’s actually cheaper than your standard balcony. We really enjoy the fact that it’s on the lido deck as well :)
yes
That’s awesome your kids were out of school to go on a cruise in May!
Very blessed to do virtual academy with our son it allows us to travel and give him life experiences.

My friend and I are looking at this 10 day cruise with Princess in Oct 2025. I'm a bit worried now as we are both in our 60. I'm wondering if we'll be able to keep up with all the walking. I know we will want to so some of the excursions, but with 60+ yo knees.... I'm sure we will give it a try anyway. We can always find a way to have fun!
@@dianr4210 Hi Dianr4210, if you don’t want to walk a lot you can go and enjoy yourself you just have to be more strategic. There is buses and tours everywhere as well as things to enjoy right off of the ship. We may have been a little extreme because we walked everywhere instead of booking excursions lol The cruise is geared towards 60+ so there is tons of ways to get around. We’re going again this year because we enjoyed it so much :)
@@Seek.Find.Travel That is encouraging! I was getting a bit worried. I went on and looked at the excursions available. Several of them were "EASY", so I think we will be ok. We are doing Mexico on RC Mariner this November to celebrate my retirement, so my best friend and I are gearing up to start doing lots of travel...and crusie will be included!
@@dianr4210 congratulations on retirement! Cruising is definitely the way to go if you want to see a lot and enjoy the journey:) Have you done Alaska yet? Canada & New England seems similar to that to me because of the beautiful outdoors and cooler weather! We also love New England!

Thanks for watching let me know if you have any questions we can help on
This was great information, thank you. I am leaving for my Alaskan Cruise on the Eurodam in a week. I appreciate the info regarding buffet vs. dining. On the one hand I'm glad to hear that they are serving at the buffet which in my mind reduces the chance of norovirus and such, but know what to expect regarding the time spent in line is good to know. This video is very informative and lets me know what to expect in many very helpful ways. 🤗
Hope you have an amazing trip Melissa! You may get a bunch of sales at the shops because it’s the end of the season also, wohoo :) Thanks for watching
As a Nova Scotian who also lived in Quebec City, I would recommend people take the cruise that ends in Quebec City. It is a bit of historic New France culture in North America. Just beautiful! The Maritime provinces are culturally rich and beautiful on the coast as well. If you go to Halifax, take the excursion to Peggy's Cove lighthouse and the Titanic cemetary tour if that interests you. Halifax is hilly! The excursion to the restored 16th century French Fortress of Louisbourg, 30 minutes out of Sydney, NS is worth a side trip also. If in St John, New Brunswick, take the side trip to Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy if you can. There, you will experience the cliffs carved out from the highest tides in the world and can walk on the ocean floor at low tide. There is so much natural beauty, history and culture. As for fall leaves un Nova Scoria, you can't beat Cape Breton's Cabot Trail. The leaves turn in the first few weeks of October in Nova Scotia. And they can be spectacular, especially the maple trees in orange and reds!
