I appreciate the efforts of Dr. Yugal and Dr. Shamima. As one of the IP Professionals (Patent Agent and SIPP Facilitator), I would like to add/ modify few points wrt the video content. Below are those points: 1. It is not Geographical identifiers. It is Geographical Indication (GI) of Goods, commonly known as GI Tag-It is one of the types of IP. It is the rights given to the association of peoples/ producers/ organization in specific location for their products that has the quality/ reputation due to that origin. Other IPs can be given to individuals also, but this GI will be given only to the group of peoples. 2. Drawings-photographs are not preferred mostly. However, photographs are submitted in the patent application, only if the line arts cannot exactly define the invention. 3. Form 8 is not necessary to be along with FER response, it can be submitted during form 1 submission (without fee) or before the grant of patent (with fee). After grant, form 8A needs to be submitted, this form 8A option come into existence from March 2024 onwards. 4. No new part should be added in the description after complete submission in the submitted ordinary application. However, there is another option like Patent of Addition, to do so. Claims can be added but it should have its supportive statement in the description part. Hence, disclose maximum information in the description part related to the same inventive concept. 5. Form 9 is optional 6. Disposed doesn’t meant for ‘Granted’; It refers that the application is disposed of from the patent office action either granted or rejected. 7. Form 18A-Following applicants are eligible to file form 18A: a) India has been indicated as the competent International Searching Authority in the corresponding international application b) If the applicant is start-up or small entity (MSME) c) At least one of the applicants is a female (as mentioned in this video) d) Applicant is a department of the Government (i.e., if any department is filed as applicant) e) Applicant is an institution established by a Central, Provincial or State Act, which is owned or controlled by the Government (i.e., educational organization) f) Applicant is a Government company as defined in clause (45) of section 2 of the Companies Act, 2013 (18 of 2013) g) Applicant is an institution wholly or substantially financed by the Government h) Application pertains to a sector which has been notified by the Central Government, on the basis of a request from the head of a department of the Central Government i) Applicant is eligible under an arrangement for processing a patent application pursuant to an agreement between Indian Patent Office and a foreign Patent Office (eg., filed through PPH-Patent Prosecution Highway) I kindly suggest to add below information in more details in your next video. 1. Importance of applicant and inventors 2. Differentiating the Provisional and Complete Specification of Form 2 3. Timeline to submit FER response If anyone needs to create/ organize IPR awareness in your organization at free of cost, utilize NIPAM initiative of the Indian Patent Office. e-certificate will be provided to the participants by the Indian Patent Office.
